This speech is Karl Paulnack’s welcoming address for incoming freshman students. He addresses that music isn’t apart of arts and entertainment rather music is an invisible force that helps us piece ourselves together. Paulnack believes that music is an essential part of life and goes to prove it by telling his experiences with it. He describes the first moment he truly understood music and the impact it has on people. Paulnack portrays the day after 9/11 after he struggles to find any meaning in being a pianist. After a long time of questioning himself he observes the city and notices something. He sees that in this time of grief and sadness people are singing. From this he learned that music is a form of expression, it allows people to express their feelings when they have no other words to describe them. Paulnack goes on to describe what he says was the most important concert of his life. He and a friend were playing a concert at a nursing home. During their performance, one man began to cry, it was at that time Paulnack knew the man was a veteran. After Paulnack and his friend finished the piece, they announced that the piece they were playing was Aaron Copland's Sonata, which was a work

Over the past years she has shown me and my brother that with determination and perseverance you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. She also is an essential part of my life and has shaped me into the person I am today.
Alice could feel her pulse pounding in her temples. Her hands were clasped tightly in front of her stomach as she constantly fiddled with her knuckles. She walked down the street yelling as her eyes were narrowed to rigid, cold fire. Alice felt surrounded as they threw rocks and spit on her. She lead a protest for women’s rights that caught the attention of many reporters. “ Women need rights, just like men!” They yelled over and over. A police officer ran over to them and told them to stop and threatened them if they did not stop. As they shackled her, the sadness flowed through her veins and deadened her mind. It was a poison to her spirit, as if a black mist had settled upon her and refused to shift. She felt defeated.
She expresses herself as optimistic and cheerful, upbeat and full of energy ready to face any new challenge and thus connected with the younger generations due to her “youthfulness”
Motherhood is her main priority and she exhibits saintly qualities which enhance the idea that she is a stereotypical woman during this time period.
Another aspect of Stephanie’s life is partnering with The Dream Center of Lakeland. She pairs Fire Athletics with a local outreach and serves the community. She is willing to give her time to help others and connect her community, such as Southeastern, with other ones, like Crystal Grove. It is very admirable, that someone with such a busy schedule, takes time to give back and be involved in the community; that speaks volumes about her character.

After watching the video of Paul and Karla, I was really shocked by the insidiousness that these individuals committed. I was very sorry to see the parents of the teenagers who were murderers so brutally. Consequently, to have been able to have DNA results would soon have saved the lives of the two teenagers who were killed. In my opinion, Karla reflects the classical theory because she did not manifest as a murderer or rapist until later when she met Paul. Karla decided on her own to follow that path without any remorse, and without Paul compelling her as she explained in her testimony. I think the prosecutor's deal of Karla's plea was very bad, in other words it was a mockery of the victims' families. I think that at the end of everything
