America prides itself on being the “Land of Opportunity”. Everyday thousands of people come to America, both legally and illegally, to find a better life than what they have in their native country. Therefore, there has become a presumption that America is the best country in the world. However, this belief is false. America is actually a country covered in its own flaws that include an unequal economic system, highest healthcare, and an inadequate public system.

Denmark gave Sweden Jemtland,Herjedalen,Alvdalen,Gotland and Osel. In the second Northern war when Denmark-Norway warred Sweden, it was horrible. Year 9 camp is still fresh in my mind. Although it is already a few weeks ago I just can’t seem to forget it. There were so many events that helped me learn more about nature, and more importantly, myself. One such event was the morning of the fourth (4th) day of camp. My group needed to cross the mighty Coorong river to reach the mainland. Why was this event so important to me? Well, crossing the Coorong wasn't designed to be easy. We were paddling across the current which was constantly threatening to send us back to shore or upside down. The instructors had drilled it into us that we were not allowed to stop paddling. This morning showed me that I had strength I didn't even know I possessed.

Vikings hail from the lands of modern day Sweden, Iceland, Greenland, Norway, Denmark, along with some parts of Russia and Germany. At the time they were most prominent,(790s-1060s) the area of land they then occupied was called Scandinavia. (Goodrich, p.1) They came from a cold place where most occupations had to do with agriculture. They wanted to expand and explore, and find a better way of living, and they found that in Europe.
Sweden is sitting in a blue chair in his living room in Stockholm, he received the news from Iceland well over an hour ago. Yet, he still can't make himself stand up. He just stares down at his hands and lets out slow, shaky breathes. He is trying to figure out what has just happened. He never would have been too surprised to find out a country has committed suicide, what will all the wars and everything else, but Denmark? He couldn’t even begin to think why.
Sweden has not participated in any war for almost two centuries. An armed neutrality was preserved in both world wars. Sweden's long beneficial economical formula of a capitalist system, intermixed with substantial welfare elements, was faced with problems during the 1990's by quite a high unemployment rate, and in 2000-02 and 2009, by the global profitable downturns, but fiscal discipline over the past several years has allowed the country to weather economic vagaries.
