This season in the short program Tatsuki Machida remained true to his classic style. A similar set of black trousers and white shirt, we have seen in the past year. But I like it. Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón later known as Frida Kahlo, was an artist known for her paintings. Kahlo born in a village on the outskirts of Mexico City on July 06, 1907 but later on she would change it to 1910 when the revolution began because she wanted everyone to think she was born in the revolution.. Born to a German photographer father and Indigenous heritage mother and had three siblings, Matilde, Adriana, and Cristina. Frida Kahlo lived an eccentric yet tragic life. At the age of 6yrs old Frida Kahlo, contracted polio which was on restriction and got her isolated from everyone around her. It left Frida with a leg smaller than the other which got her bullied.

Studying the historical events gives an understanding of how this world came to be, including the different cultures of people and the surroundings. For instance, Shogunate Japan was a significant historic event. This is because for 250 years, the Tokugawa period brought peace and order in Japan, it aided to enrich and preserve Japan’s culture as seen present today. Shoguns were Japan’s military leaders who were given the title by the emperors.

I had truly enjoyed your class this summer and I am glad I was able to take your course because it really opened my eyes to the importance of understanding Frida Kahlo as an individual as well as the history and culture that is behind each piece of art. It also was an important reminder to seek out learning opportunities when it comes to other countries histories. It is incredibly important and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to take a course that examined Mexico's culture and history. Miyazaki Hayao was born on January 5, 1941 in Tokyo. He ranked second among the four brothers. His father, Katsuji Miyazaki, was a director of Miyazaki Airplane Factory (Wikipedia). Maybe it is growing up in this kind of environment, he had a great interest in the plane and become a lifelong hobby. Sapporo Yuki Matsuri (さっぽろ雪まつり) is one of the most popular winter festivals of the year in Sapporo, the capital city of Hokkaido Island, which held in early February for one week. During this period, Sapporo is turned into a winter dreamland of crystal-like ice and white snow.
