The battle of Sekigahara occurred at the end of Japan’s Feudal period in the Gifu Province, which is halfway in between Kyoto and Tokyo. While the Feudal Period lasted from the end of the 12th century until 1600 A.D., the Sekigahara valley area witnessed major operations from July until November 1600 (the Eastern Army fought the Western Army loyalists) until the end of the Feudal Period.
