Throughout the reading this week, the information presented in David Elliott and Bennett Reimer’s texts stressed the importance of music and more specifically, music education. “People everywhere find music rewarding, and everywhere we find people engaged in formal and non-formal efforts to teach and learn music.” (Elliott, 2014, p. 4)
I had heard stories for years about the high school music teacher, Mrs. Smithgall, before my freshman year. My older brother was active in the music program and often talked at length during family dinner about the repertoire chosen for each concert; naturally, when I came to the high school, I was excited to meet the woman who would be guiding me through four years of advanced music study. I had no idea that she would grow to be my favorite teacher and one of my strongest advocates in high school.
Across the United States many elementary school music classrooms are filled with simple and popular tunes such as Hot Cross Buns and The Ode to Joy, played on the recorder, while high school students may be playing collegiate or professional pieces of music such as Armenian Dances and Carmen Suites. I have been very fortunate to have gone on the journey of progressing through different music education programs within Fairfax County Public Schools. If I was never exposed to music while in elementary school I might not have ever found one of my greatest passions or been able to create such fond and unforgettable memories. While music education programs across the country appear large and strong, many schools are beginning to experience budget reductions. As a result, music is often the very first component of a school 's curriculum or programs to be cut or significantly reduced, but I believe this is not the right course of action. It is important to preserve and promote music education in public schools because of the proven cognitive, character, and academic benefits for students.
The first reason why The music he teaches reaches not only the students, but the people who come to hear the students and share in their experience. Even if you have never played an instrument or sang a song, once you spend time
Throughout the past year, I have observed students at various levels at the DSR, and consistently witness the power of the unparalleled education and experience the students are receiving, whether the student is five years old, or fifty. The classes that occur every week are more than just music classes; music is the core of a joyful and hugely influential way to educate and enrich the lives of those students who are involved.
My second online classroom observation was observing Mrs. Herbic teaching her kindergarten students about a Calendar with visual flash card and music The Calendar was made with the month, important dates, snowflakes numbers, and snowmen numbers. Today teacher need innovated way to engage student to listen, think cognitively, process and store the information. . Music is a fascinating way to teach students and keep their attention. Children at age of two thru five have rapid brain growth; which increase cognitive abilities, fine and gross motor skills. This is the age to introduce students to a different language, basic history, math, reading, and science. Mrs. Herbic was using music to teach the student within the guidelines or policies of

I am writing to express my interest in applying for the adjunct instructor position within the Communications Department at North Arkansas College. For my lesson observation I observed my professor Dr. Christopher Moore and Michelle Stebleton Associate Professor of Horn. These lessons were both directed towards younger students, one being a freshman and the other a sophomore music education major. What made these observations interesting was seeing how each teacher presented their musical philosophy to these students. Although both professors presented similar pedagogy, each one presented their ideas in different ways that were both comprehensive and effective for their student.
As an online learner, aiming to be a professional in the field of psychology, I have learned that various aspects specific to an online learning environments that will assist in a future psychology career. Although psychology has broad career options, the knowledge, and abilities being gained through online learning will transfer into almost any professional field.
Becoming a music educator is not a brash career choice, but rather a fulfillment of the desire to insure the continuation of a love for music. While many claim to have a superficial appreciation for music, it is the educators who preserve and develop it. As a music educator, I would like to make my students feel secure in their abilities, create lifelong bonds with others dedicated and passionate about music, and contribute in the continuation and preservation of music.
With the increase in use of the Internet, more people are online to make purchases, research information and now gain an online education. Online education is on the rise. People are choosing to get an online education more so now because people are busier than ever and more jobs are requiring a college education. Also with these larger companies closing and laying off employees, people who once had a job are now faced with the challenge of looking for a new jobs-sometimes with no skills to offer a new employer. There are more people who have waited until later in life to get their degree in order to get a job or advance on the current job.
Online education or education in a traditional classroom setting. That's an easy one. The answer to that is a classroom setting. You'll never be able to cope with humans if your just answering to a machine all day for the rest of your life. You'll never be able to enjoy yourself. All you will know is that a machine gave you all of these complicated questions and expected to give you the best answer that will be hung up for all to see because of its perfection. We want what humans have. Life.
While attending the 2011 Central Division APA conference, I found myself engaged in several casual discussions with colleagues. If it was mentioned that I was going to be taking part in the Committee for Computers and Philosophy’s discussion of online education in philosophy, there would sometimes come a rather curious moment in the conversation. I began to think of it as the “microwave question moment.” Many years ago, when microwave ovens first were advertised, there was a rather clever ad depicting a salesperson standing in front of a crowd of people, going on and on about all the wonderful advantages of microwave cooking, until a deep voice from the back spoke up with: “But does it brown the food?”
The development in the information technology during the recent past has increased the overall ability and the reach of the people to the education. For this reason the areas of the online learning are improving to a great extent especially for the high school students. As a result of these improvements and developments, the distant leaning has become an alternative to the schools or colleges (Orgunleye, A. 2013). The distant learning has helped the people who were not able to study because of distance problems and it has helped increase the literacy rate and higher degree rate by encouraging more people to learn. A variety of the degree programs are available on the internet by number of education institutions (Mary F. Ziegler, T. P.
