Hillary exposure towards the campaign is helping the economy and the public, middle class. She quotes “My dad played football at Penn State,” as she is speaking out to her voters. During the debate she quotes I want us to invest in you. I want us to invest in your future. That means jobs in infrastructure, in advanced manufacturing, innovation and technology, clean, renewable energy, and small business, because most of the new jobs will come from small business. We also have to make the economy fairer. That starts with raising the national minimum wage and also guarantee, finally, equal pay for women’s work.” Which establish sympathy toward needs of the low income families or struggling middle

There, she was to deliver one of her greatest speeches on a topic that affects all of us; human rights, more notably, the rights of women and children. In Mark Twain’s, “A Presidential Candidate,” Twain makes a modest proposal for his own desire to run for the presidency. He comes forward with all of his wrongdoings unlike most candidates who choose not to reveal personal shortcomings while running for office. His use of rhetorical devices and various strategies throughout his proposal help achieve the purpose and humor of the selection. Several devices which accomplish the humor of this piece include details, irony, and tone.
“Despite huge advancements in technology and productivity, millions of Americans are working longer hours for lower wages. The real median income of male workers is $783 less than it was 42 years ago; while the real median income of female workers is over $1,300 less than it was in 2007. That is unacceptable and that has got to change.”
The battle cry for Trump is the slogan "Hillary is going to raise taxes and I'm going to cut taxes". In order to try and control the media, Trump says anyone one who challenges the media's control is sexist, racist, xenophobic and morally deformed. He must mean the indisputable king of propaganda, Fox News. The main policy Donald Trump is offering, is to do everyone a favor by getting rid of gays, trannies, blacks, Latinos, Mexicans and all other minorities. He will also use his dictatorship to get rid of any military generals that pose a threat to Russia. He is also calling for law and order by prosecuting people without a fair trial. In other words he will make America great again.
Presidential nominee, Hillary Rodham Clinton, in a recent speech at a private fundraising event geared toward LGBT rights supporters, addressed her political opponent, Donald J. Trump and his supporters. The fundraiser was hosted by singer and actress, Barbra Streisand and her wealthy counterparts. The former Secretary of State argued that half of Donald Trump’s supporters can be put into a “basket of deplorable” and alluded that the other half are simply anti-government. Clinton supported her assertion by using logical fallacies by making hasty generalizations, faulty cause and effect, and bandwagon appeals. She also solidified her reasoning by stating, the supporters in the “basket of deplorable” are racists, sexists, xenophobic, and many
In this address Clinton uses a combination of all three to try to convince people of her being the right candidate for the job. Clinton’s rhetoric depends largely on the fact of her being relatable in comparison to the millionaire Trump who makes up the much envied American and criticized elite.
Pathos/ethos/logos A lot of pathos were used a lot by Donald trump in the debate. For example, trump was trying to persuade to the people that the stop and frisk law would work. He was coming off in the debate, like that would be the only thing that stops the crime in the inner cities. Hillary was also trying to convince to the crowd how trump was a racist (which is true) and how he disrespects women. Donald trump also began interrupting Hillary while she was talking in her debate, when he felt she was saying something that got to him.
The rhetorical strategy Maria W. Stewart employs can be characterized as irony. Maria, an African American delivers a lecture in Boston in 1832 asserting that the "free people of color" living a supportable life have the same passion to be rich and independent but are confined to never rise above. While viewing Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump speeches’ many would claim that they both have mastered the rhetorical triangle. As candidates, they both have both displayed strong and weak uses of their rhetoric. Aristotle also said that, “rhetoric is basis of democratic engagement in civic life.” Mastering rhetoric to appeal to the voters will be one of the key elements that determines our next president. Donald Trump attempts to use pathos a lot. He tries to play on the audience’s emotions. In one of his most controversial speeches he stated, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs.
In announcing his proposal to increase the minimum wage, the president argued that doing so would alleviate poverty. The president is certainly correct to turn his attention to the poor, many of whom have been suffering for years in a tough economy. And it is clearly desirable for households that engage in full-time work not to live in poverty. But increasing the minimum wage would
During her speech at Roosevelt island, Hillary Clinton used the logical fallacy known as “Straw Man” many times. In the “Straw Man” fallacy the orator builds up an opponent’s argument to be more fragile than it would be otherwise, Giving them a target to knock down. Hillary leveled numerous accusations against her opponents in the Republican party, saying that they have been cowed by wall street, that they “trip over themselves promising lower taxes for the wealthy and fewer rules for the biggest corporations”. While republicans would argue that they support entrepreneurs, Hillary casts them as only concerned with the upper class while caring nothing for middle and lower-class Americans. She says “They want to take away health insurance from
“Of course, nothing helps families make ends meet like higher wages. … And to everyone in this Congress who still refuses to raise the minimum wage, I say this: If you truly believe you could work full-time and support a family on less than $15,000 a year, go try it. If not, vote to give millions of the hardest-working people in America a raise.”
