Today’s America holds a large number of people from all over the world and from different social classes. Although, the majority is middle class, the one percent still governs the majority of the country; they own almost everything and do better financially. In the Rights of Man, Paine argues that America is a world where the rich are not privileged and they do not oppress the poor. Although, I agree that America is a mixture of different races, but today, there is many riots and tumults because of racial issues, and they are not as united as Paine describes; the poor people do not have as many options and privileges as the rich, and taxes are not as just as Paine argues. Therefore, it is unjust that since they have money they can pay people to find tax loopholes that will save them money. For example, a loophole that the wealthy business owners use is creating fake businesses and declaring that their money goes into that business. Meanwhile, the common people must still pay taxes because otherwise they can go to jail or pay a fine. In addition, President Donald Trump has been guilty of having these loopholes that the big business owners have. He also had the support from a large number of wealthy people because he promised to cut down taxes for the wealthy; making the rich richer, while the poor poorer. Therefore, Paine says that the government is just because of taxes, but even our president has been unjust by not paying a heavy amount of taxes. America is a place where there are people from different places, speak different languages, hold different cultures, and different morals. I agree with Paine that there is a wide range of diversity in America, but I do not agree with him when he writes that America is a place where everyone is united, that there are no riots or tumults, that the taxes are just, and that America is country “where the poor are not oppressed, and the rich are not privileged,” because in most cases America is a place where the rich are more privilege than the
