Dear Members of the Selection Committee: I am writing to apply for the position of Scientist at The Roche Group. I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at Reed College. Before joining Reed College, I was a Senior Research Associate at the CUNY Institute for Macromolecular Assemblies and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at City College of New York. I obtained my Ph.D. in Chemistry (specializing in Molecular Biophysics) at the City University of New York (CUNY) in September of 2009. My cross-disciplinary research training in the areas of biophysics, spectroscopy, and materials science has involved projects in three different laboratories at CUNY, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and analytical …show more content…
For instance, insoluble and amorphous eumelanin pigment assemblies of the human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans are associated with microbial virulence and therapeutic drug resistance; I have employed multi-dimensional magnetic resonance spectroscopy to deconstruct the heterogeneous (supra) molecular frameworks of these chemically recalcitrant organic pigment assemblies synthesized from obligatory catecholamine precursors, shedding light on the action of these poorly understood fungal virulence factors. This research work has involved extensive collaborative studies with Professor Arturo Casadevall’s immunology and microbiology laboratory at Johns Hopkins University.
I have developed a broad knowledge of modern organic chemistry and synthetic methods as well as I have gained practical experience with a wide range of bioanalytical techniques and NMR spectroscopic methods for characterizing biomolecules and biopolymers, involving the concepts and methodologies of structure-based molecular design as well as method development for structure elucidation. I have pursued my research in multiple CUNY research groups that focus on materials science, photonics technologies, structural biology, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. I have conducted collaborative studies with the plant biology laboratory
Throughout this project I learned how to properly write a resume, cover letter, and job application. I learned key interviewing skills by observing my classmates perform good and bad interviews. Mr. Edwards enforced the proper dress code by making students conduct interviews in formal attire. Ultimately, the skills that I have gained during this assignment will assist me to earn a high paying job in the future.
More specifically, I would like to participate in the Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering Research Group. William Kelly’s work in biochemical engineering especially fascinates me, and I would love to get involved in his research on the optimization of CHO cell culture. I intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and the information I would learn working in this program would help further me in my career.
I am writing to express my interest in the biology teaching position at Bard High School Early College (BHSEC). I am currently holding a New York City initial certification in adolescent biology education as well as a Master degree in Biology. I have experience teaching at a high school as well as a college level. I believe that my experience and qualification is a great fit for this position.
I am writing to express my interest in applying for a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency position at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. After further investigation and the opportunity to discuss various aspects of the program with you and your residents at the Midyear Clinical Meeting, I consider your program to be an ideal fit based on my professional interests and aspirations. My primary short-term goals are to advance my clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills in various settings as a PGY-1 resident, along with further development of my communication and presentation skills and proficiency in the research and publication process. Long term I aim to possibly participate in specialized training, ultimately practice as a board certified
I am writing to apply for a position as a College Counselor within Carolina College Advising Corp. I became informed of this position through Sheena Jacobs, Assistant Director of University Career Services.
I am eager to apply for the full-time position as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee at CVS Health which was located on your direct website. With my recent degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and my practice in customer service roles, I believe that I will be an appropriate candidate in joining your team at CVS Health. Accompanied by my strong interest in working at a retail pharmacy and the dedication that I have to achieve my goal, I will put on my best performance to actively concentrate, understand, and solve problems within a reasonable time frame.
I am writing to apply for your position of Clinical Research Coordinator. I strongly believe that this position is a great fit for me, as it would provide me with the opportunity to continue to utilize my research skills with a new team. Moreover, it would provide me with a range of opportunities to engage in career exploration.
I am applying to become a resident assistant fort University Housing so that I can take all these experiences that I have had in my life and use them to direct on campus residents to explore who they are and to help them develop into hard working individuals, From working as a Desk Assistant in East Campus Village for the past year I have been able to see further into the RA job. I see the impact they make on peoples lives daily and the effect that they have on this campus. From my experience as a DA I have learned the communication skills needed to be a successful RA and how much pressure and commitment the job comes with. If selected, I can bring a strong work ethic and commitment to the community I am selected for and a whole lot of enthusiasm to work with the residents. My leadership will also be a strong aspect that I can bring. Being a leader is something that has always come naturally to me, and I have had several seminars and classes to further develop my understanding of what it means to be a leader. The DA position has also allowed me to grow personally and professionally. I have made several close friendships with coworkers and residents through my experience as a DA, while at the same time I have learned professional behavior through interactions with Housing Administration. The skills that I have learned through this position are things I will take with me the rest of my

On a thin chromatography plate, five spots were placed ( as shown in table 2) and the plate was developed using chloroform/methanol. This was later visualized with dragendorff’s reagent under the UV light. All separated components were observed, identified and recorded.
Please review my special circumstances. I am asking for understanding and support in admission process for PhD position in Professor Stephen Robertson's lab.
Chemistry is ubiquitous and its prevalence is evident in everything right from environment, biology and even in technology. It is this versatility, which aids me in gaining insight in every field of science. Being a graduate in Bio-analytical Chemistry and Organic chemistry, my enthusiasm and inclination grew towards quantitative and qualitative analysis of natural and synthetic compounds in research laboratory. It is with this passion, I look forward to unravel the mystics of analytical chemistry through theoretical and practical knowledge. Therefore, I would like to apply for the Doctoral Program in Analytical Chemistry at University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth.
Natural products are invaluable resource of anticancer drug discovery. They generally viewed as safe but weak, within the framework of nanotechnology, they can serve as template for potent anticancer drugs. We first evaluated the cytotoxic activity of different propolis extracts (water, hydroalcohol, ethanol and hexane) in many cancer cell lines, then the solid nanoparticles from the organic solvent extracts were prepared and their cytotoxicity was evaluated as well. Finally, 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC) and 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DOPC) liposomes were prepared from the most cytotoxic organic solvent extract and their cytotoxicity was also evaluated.
