“But you’d never have the guts to do it”, his words were just soft whispers against her ear, but felt like a knife in her back. Still, she didn’t even blink nor wince. At least her emotions belonged to her and were under control. Fang gave her some space, before strutting back towards his desk. She seemed to find her breath again, but was still startled. “Come back tomorrow evening. For now, you’re dismissed” In that moment she really felt like a slut. She left without saying another word. She never would’ve believed to end up like that. When she arrived at the door there was a cough from Fang, she didn’t dare to turn around, still she stood dormant like a doll once again. There was a swish in the silence. Her hand shot out and got hold of
In Romeo and Juliet, dreams, visions and premonitions play a very important role. They foreshadow the eventual tragedy, tell us about a character’s view over a particular matter, and reflect underlying messages in the play. They are symbols, telling us about the various themes in the play as well.
Most people know Shakespeare for his famous play, Romeo and Juliet in which is a tragic story about two decedents from ongoing feuding noble families. In this play, the two lovers (Romeo and Juliet) meet causing more disturbance between the two families which lead to Romeo and Juliet’s tragic death. Their deaths are caused by three main characters, Tybalt, Mercutio, and Friar Lawrence by inducing more disruption than they could handle.
Everyone wants to marry the love of their life. Seeking the approval of our family and friends, we all look ahead fondly at the idea of living a long and happy life with our soulmate. Unfortunately, in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet this is not the way life played out.
If the Titanic did not bump into the iceberg, a tragedy could have been avoided. Why did Hitler get elected? Maybe then the holocaust could have been avoided. If a plane flight was cancelled on 9/11, we might have avoided the deaths of thousands. Why did Romeo meet Juliet in the first place? Could Tybalt and Mercutio's deaths been avoided? Last but not least, why did Juliet wake up in time to see dying Romeo? What exactly ties all events together? Fate.
Avoidable Ending of Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a story about two star-crossed lovers. The tragic ending of this play could have been prevented. There are three ways this tragedy could have ended differently. If Friar Lawrence had never married Romeo and Juliet they would have never been in that situation. Also, Juliet could have told her parents that she was in love with Romeo Montague.
The window blinds were open, allowing the warm morning sunlight to peek through and shine upon the two figures that were soundly asleep on the soft bed.
The noisy footsteps of the two small children could be heard in the streets of Verona. Young Romeo and his accomplice Rosaline were racing back home in order to keep from being caught. The children, only 5 years old at the time, had accidentally released the soon to be slaughtered chickens that belonged to one of Verona’s greatest farmers. After admiring the many feathered creatures, Romeo and Rosaline had dared each other to see who could get the closest to the fence without “chickening out”.
Fate can be joyful and bring happiness to many. However, it can also bring destruction and sadness into many people’s lives. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, fate is shown in a horrific way by numerous citizens dying including Romeo and Juliet. But fate is not the only cause of the two lover’s death; the two lovers themselves ultimately initiated their unfortunate passing. On the other hand, with Friar Laurence encouraging Romeo and Juliet to get married and planning a way for them to end up together is another reasoning that impacted their causality in countless ways. In Romeo and Juliet, it may not have been their parent’s feud that triggered the “star-crossed” lover’s death but fate, Friar Laurence
Does Romeo and Juliet always have to end in such a tragic way? Romeo and Juliet is a story about Romeo, who in grief of his last love, falls in love with the beautiful Juliet from the house of his family’s enemy. Romeo and Juliet have to stay strong to keep their love from causing chaos in the city of Verona. At the end of the story many people have died including Romeo and Juliet. But with a little bit of imagination the story could end in a whole different mood. In a different reality, Romeo and Juliet can have a somewhat happy ending.
Looking up into the sky on a clear night, you should be able to see thousands of dazzling stars shining against the midnight blue. You might be in awe, amazed, or simply at peace, but have you ever thought about how these little beauties might take away your breath in more than one way? “Thank your lucky stars!” you might have heard someone say. This simple expression meant more than everything to the characters in Romeo and Juliet, for they believed their fate was truly written in the stars.
I was wearing one of my pure white sleeveless nightgowns and my hair had been placed into one neat ponytail. I yawned as I walked over to my large bedroom door and opened it slowly.
Destiny was invented in the late 13th century and it is used to describe the events that lead you to where you need to be. It is a belief that is spread around the world and is interpreted differently by people. Destiny has a positive connotation while its counterpart Fate has a negative. In “Romeo & Juliet” by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare describes Romeo & Juliet as star-crossed lovers and through the play the pair of lovers find misfortune and bad timing. The pair of star-crossed lovers commit suicide at the end of the play.
Throughout the play ¨Romeo and Juliet” there were many hints to the ending. Even the prologue told us the ending. So, now the real question is, whose fault was it? I personally think that every character plays a role in the outcome. Friar Lawrence tries to manipulate things so that everyone has to have a good life. Tybalt's anger makes him an antagonist at every turn feeling whenever any Capulet is around. Lord Capulet shapes the end because he feels it necessary to make Juliet marry Paris when he had said originally that she should have some more time before marrying. Even Romeo and Juliet themselves, their ridiculous love and rush made it come to the tragic end. Also, the Nurse and Juliet's mother who basically disown her when she says she
In the story Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the types of fate-pre-existing conditions, misunderstanding, and timing, influence the character’s decisions. These types of fate play a huge part in the initial struggles that the two have to overcome to be together, and then ultimately lead to their death. These types of fate are no longer as prominent today for students at Glastonbury High School. Although fate strongly affect the lives of Romeo and Juliet, individual will plays an even greater role than fate in the lives of young people at Glastonbury High School today. Pre-existing circumstances are one type of fate that greatly influences Romeo and Juliet.
Some people may not believe in fate and that they can control their own destinies and lives. But in the story of Romeo and Juliet, from their encounter at the party, to falling in love with each other to ultimately their death may all have been pre-planned. Fate is referred to being the “stars” and has the ability to manipulate people's lives to fulfill their destinies. Throughout the whole book, characters have mentioned that a tragedy would be fated to fall on Romeo and Juliet and their love for each other. Their meeting at the Capulet party was no mere coincidence and throughout the entire book, fate seemed to be directly connected to their downfall.
