Experiencing the Arts
The information in this paper will discuss the personal experiences of art, personal definition of the arts, and a description of what each experience communicated. One personal experience was the attendance of the William Shakespeare play about Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet that took place a few years ago in Centennial Park. This Shakespearian play is one of the most renounced plays as it is one that many individuals are familiar with. Romeo and Juliet depict the story of the unforbidden love of two teenagers whose families are in a violent feud; however they fall in love and marry in secret because they do not harbor the same interests in the feud as their parents. The scene in Act I, Scene 5, when Romeo attends he feast at the Capulets with the intent to see Rosaline the woman he is infatuated with although she does feel the same for him. After moments at the feast he sees Juliet and instantly falls in love with her and she reciprocates his feelings. That was prevalent and intriguing because it tells of how two people at an instant

A personal love of Ancient Greek mythology, the Greek gods, and the myths made the first visit to the Parthenon exciting. The statue of Athena Parthenos shows great detail of her wardrobe, face, and her shield. The gold crown on her head shows detail and closely resembles the golden crowns depicted in many Ancient Greek works of arts. The gold draping that covers the colossal body frame of Athena is beautiful and it makes the statue stand out while presenting a feminine side of Athena. As one enters into the huge stone doors that lead to the Naos room which houses the statue of Athena is genuinely breathtaking as one approaches the 42 feet tall statue. The 65 feet high building structure of the Parthenon is amazing as one walks between each of the 46 Doric columns it gives an astonishing idea of what one can expect upon entering the
In school, kids always hear couples say they love each other, but is it true? In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare pokes fun at the fickleness of young love. Everyone knows what happens at the end of Romeo and Juliet. But what is it really? It is a comedic play is hidden as a tragedy. Yes both the main characters die that makes it a tragedy but if you don’t read it carefully you will miss Shakespeare poking at young love.

As one of the most complex characters in the play, Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio’s purpose is to act as a static catalyst for the death of most of the characters. Shakespeare uses Mercutio’s character cleverly as the kind of character that stays in the background, but influences the rest of the cast in the utmost amount. Mercutio’s light and occasionally sardonic humor at inapt times relieves the play from being a complete tragedy and allows the audience a false sense of security before calamity strikes, such as the death of his character. Mercutio also stands as a consistent character to prove that despite the fact that the majority of Shakespeare’s characters are unpredictable and impulsive, there has to be at least one character to steady
Dedicated to the goddess Athena, the warrior maiden, the Parthenon is a Doric style temple (Gilbert 368). It took about 15 years to complete this strucutre (Gilbert 370). A lot like the Roman Pantheon, it had many columns surrounding the interior and exterior of this structure. This place was decorated with many sculptures along the inner roof top. It was painted in vivid colors, such as red and blue (Gilbert 370). Refered to as the cella its inner chamber housed the monumental statue of the Goddess Athena. Pheidias' hisself created this thirty foot high statue of Athena Parthenos, consisting of a frame made of wood, metal, clay, and plaster.
The wise woman, Margaret Mead, who was a distinguished anthropologist, once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.” A group of citizens in Verona sought to change the world of two star-crossed lovers. In spite of trying to improve their situation, Friar Laurence, Balthasar, Paris, Benvolio and Mercutio only lead Romeo and Juliet into tragedy. These characters always think they are helping, but they end up leading Romeo and Juliet to their deaths. Friar Laurence, Balthasar, Paris, Benvolio and Mercutio all played a trusted role either as a friend, lover or religious leader in Romeo’s and Juliet’s lives. However, despite their best intentions
Act 2 scene 2 is where Romeo and Juliet meet again when Romeo tries to sneak into the Capulet’s household by entering through the Capulet Gardens. Here he meets Juliet on the balcony and now they both have a newfound passion for each other. In the 1996 version, the balcony scene was adapted into a pool scene. Since there was no balcony in the way, Romeo and Juliet could kiss more often than otherwise would have been possible. Since modern audiences are almost always interested in sex, the 1996 version uses this to keep the audience’s attention. In the 2013 version, the approach was more traditional, with a balcony and no pool. While Juliet was on the balcony, she rests her hand upon her cheek and Romeo comments about Juliet’s beauty, to himself, while the frame is a tight shot in Juliet’s face. The effect here was so literal,

Love is defined as the intense feeling of deep affection. In the play, Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare, the attraction between the two protagonists, Romeo and Juliet, does not factually classify as true love. Meanwhile, lust is a concept in which is commonly mistaken for love, which is very apparent throughout this classic “love story” of Romeo and Juliet. While others could debate that Romeo and Juliet’s love, was love at first sight, it is debateable that their feelings towards one another were pure lust. Romeo and Juliet are too immature to fully understand the concept of love as they are too young and hormone-driven, they were both in search for escapism from their present troubles, and they had an excessive amount of

Is it possible for teenagers to be in love like Romeo and Juliet? They make eye contact with each other, hold hands, kiss, and Romeo falls head over heels for Juliet. After they meet, Romeo compares Juliet to the sun, alluding to her being the light of his life. As the play continues, Juliet risks killing herself in order to avoid a marriage to Paris. Romeo, who has been banished to Mantua, risks being killed by coming back for Juliet. Just like Romeo and Juliet, a lot of teenagers stay together through adversity. Using Romeo and Juliet as a guide, it is possible for teenagers to be in love because of love at first sight, a desire to spend their lives together, also to the risks being killed. Yes it is possible for teenagers to be in love and know what love is.
Who knew that a holy catholic priest could bring about the deaths of two passionate lovers? In the tragedy of “Romeo and Juliet”, by William Shakespeare, the priest Friar Lawrence marries Romeo and Juliet in secret because neither of their families would approve of the marriage due to the family feud. Although there were many events that didn’t help the two lovers’ situation, the main cause that brought about their downfall was the help of Friar Lawrence.
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, young love takes an unfortunate turn. Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are from rival families and are meant to hate each other. But one night at a party, they see each other from across the room and fall madly in love. In the time span of a week, they get married that ends in them taking their own lives. In this story, I feel like Shakespeare is trying to say that young love can be self-destructive but not to the point of killing themselves. Romeo and Juliet are the exception.
