To sum up the last episodes, we have been playing as Friar Laurence who secretly married Romeo and Juliet to each other even though they didn’t have their parents consent. The day that we decided to officiate their marriage, Tybalt (Juliet’s cousin) was murdered by Romeo who then got banished from Verona. Naturally, Juliet was not happy because she was being forced into an arranged marriage with Paris, so she came to us and threatened to kill herself if we didn’t help her. Now
Romeo and Juliet is a story of two star-crossed lovers who take their lives. Romeo and Juliet come from families who hate each other with a passion, but they fall in deeply in love. Their lives could have been saved by one person, Friar Laurence. Friar Laurence married Romeo and Juliet without telling their parents, gave Juliet a potion to make her seem dead, didn’t deliver the letter to Romeo himself about Juliet’s “death”, and arrived too late at the Capulet’s tomb.
In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, the play ends in sorrow, with every character feeling the impact of Romeo and Juliet’s tragic end. However, one character stands out from the others in terms of blame for the tragedy: Friar Laurence, due to his disregard of Romeo’s headspace when he comes to The Friar, and secondly in giving Juliet the sleeping potion instead of just coming forward with the secret marriage of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Laurence marries Romeo and Juliet without their parents permission. As stated by Fr. Laurence, “Young men's love then lies.
Romantic love stories are often ended with a tragedy, because of loss of passion or a loved one. These tragedies are often the result of one person’s actions that ended someone’s life or love. In the Romeo and Juliet play written by William Shakespeare, two citizens of Verona come together and fall deeply in love. Unfortunately their love comes to an end, along with their lives, because of a misunderstanding and a persistent feud between their families. Although there are many characters in this play that have contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s death, Friar Laurence is the person most to blame.
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the deaths of the main characters, Romeo and Juliet, are the result of many actions committed by various characters. From Lord Capulet, the overbearing father, to Count Paris, the lovestruck kinsman, everyone plays a role in Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. Although Romeo and Juliet choose to kill themselves out of their own free will, Friar Laurence is the most accountable for their deaths. His encouragement of their naive actions, his haphazard scheme, and lack of caution when dealing with their lives, influences their decisions and leads to their untimely deaths.
On Tuesday morning, Paris told me of his proposed marriage to Juliet, a wedding scheduled to take place in two days. I expressed my concern that the wedding has been arranged too quickly, and I offered reasons to delay the ceremony. Paris believes that Capulet hastened the nuptials out of concern for Juliet's grief over Tybalt's death. Your beloved Juliet will be marrying Paris this coming Thursday. When Juliet came to me on Tuesday, she drew a dagger and threatened to kill herself unless I could help her. Juliet would rather kill herself than marry Paris, so I have arranged for her to fake her death. I have proposed a plan that consists of Juliet consenting to marry Paris. Then she must drink a sleeping potion that will make her appear to
In the play "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare, the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are caused by Friar Tuck. The feud between their families had gone on for decades before they ever even met, and right before the two fell in love at first sight a new fight had broken out between their kin. one would think that the love of their children would end their fighting, but alas it did not. As the two were too scared to admit their love, their families never had a chance to accept their relationship. A secret wedding of the lovers was performed by a family friend, Friar Tuck, and no one was the wiser.
Even though numerous characters in the play contributed to the death of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence’s irresponsibility and lack of recognition makes him most to blame. To begin, Romeo proposes the idea about marring Juliet, a member of the Capulet Family by telling Friar Laurence “Then plainly know my heart's dear love is set on the fair daughter of rich Capulet (2.3.57-58). Romeo has completely forgotten about Rosaline, and now has focused his love onto Juliet. The Friar agrees with Romeo. Friar Laurence's decision is irresponsible because he agrees with the idea of members of opposite noble families being married. By marrying Romeo and Juliet, Friar is acting like Lord
Juliet wakes up finding Romeo dead, then she starts talking about how bad Romeo’s death was. She was spiraling in the emotional roller coaster going down to suicide. While this is happening, the Friar walks in and hears the authorities coming. He says “Come, I'll dispose of thee Among a sisterhood of holy nuns: Stay not to question, for the watch is coming; Come, go, good Juliet,”. Juliet would not go, because she was wanting now to die with her love. Since she was not coming, Friar Lawrence says “I dare no longer stay.” Really quick after the Friar leaves, she commits suicide. Friar Lawrence left the scene, because he did not want to get in trouble with killing Romeo. He wanted to run from the crime, and hide the witness in crime, Juliet, by bringing her to the nuns. SInce Juliet was not coming in time, he runs with the intention of getting away with his crime of killing Romeo. As the Friar runs away, his crime only becomes bigger when Juliet kills herself. The Friar is guilty now with not two, but now three
In the play Romeo and Juliet there are several significant details that help the reader understand the actions of others led to the death of Romeo and Juliet. First, the character Friar Laurence married Romeo and Juliet to bring peace to the two families. Another important detail is Friar Laurence gave a remedy to Juliet to fake her own death. The third detail important to the play is Friar Laurence sent a letter to Romeo about Juliet fake death but it didn’t reach him in time. All of these details are significant because they all lead to the demise of Juliet and Romeo.

Based on a true story of two lovers who died for each other in Verona, Italy in 1303, Romeo and Juliet has been translated into 80 languages since it was written around 1595, and more than 30 film versions have been made. In William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, the actions taken by the supporting characters lead to Romeo and Juliet’s premature deaths. In the following paragraphs, I will demonstrate how main characters Mercutio, Tybalt, Friar John and Friar Laurence contribute to their deaths. First, Mercutio and Tybalt’s deaths intensify the feud between the Capulet and the Montagues. Second, the Capulets and Montagues disapprove of any relationships between the families. Lastly, Friar Laurence does not think
The death of the title couple in Shakespeare’s play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is their own faults. Romeo, for instance, is evidently a brash and naive child who has “so soon forsaken” (2:3:73) his affections toward Rosaline, becoming shallowly enamored with Juliet’s “true beauty” (1:5:58) without any knowledge of her identity. The Friar rightfully criticizes the teenager’s affections toward Juliet as “not truly in [his] heart, but in [his] eyes”(2:3:72). His lack of self control creates issues for both of the families and for his own life. He decides to go against the logic of restraining his sudden affliction for his “foe”(1:5:132) and creates demise for the both of them by initiating a relationship that they could not foreseeably sustain.
Star does so, slowly drawing from the old deck of cards. The hag takes the first pile and places it directly between them, "now let's see the roads you have walked." She flips the top card of the pile, revealing the ace of cups. "You came from fortune, of great station or of wealth," she smiles, "I can see it in your dress as well. What brings a noble to the outer ring to speak with me? No matter, all roads lead to their ends."
If you allow me to marry your beautiful daughter you will have to fight no longer. Friar Laurence believes that by allowing me to marry Juliet, you are taking the first step necessary to end this ridiculous feud that will otherwise continue for years. “For this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households’ rancor into pure love.” (Act II, Scene III, Lines 91-92). We can both agree that this unnecessary hatred between our families has lasted for far too long.
In the story “Romeo And Juliet”, we find two star-crossed lovers in love, but their love is soon interrupted by a feud between their parents which in the end causes them to end their lives. The lovers first meet at a party where they find themselves falling in love at first sight, but soon the feud tears them apart and pushes them to suicide when Romeo gets banished and later receives a note and finds Juliet “dead” in the Capulet tomb after drinking a potion gave to her by friar lawrence which puts her in a deep sleep, and when Romeo finds her, he believes shes dead, and commits suicide and she awakes to him dead and takes a dagger to the stomach and dies. The people who caused this to happen are Tybalt and Romeo.
