Romeo and Juliet Often people say that William Shakespeare was and still is a legend. They are correct. It is amazing how Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet written centuries ago can be better than any movie productions of Romeo and Juliet, which had much better technology to work with. Although the films appeared more appealing, they left out some major parts. The play had better mood and plot details which made it much more dramatic and by far a better presentation. This speech will prove why William Shakespeare’s original play should be taught to students rather than any film versions. One major difference between the play and the movie occurs in the mood. An example of this is the marriage scene. In the marriage scene of the play, Romeo and Juliet act very serious. The reader can tell this by the way the two speak. Romeo says that the Holy Words the Friar speaks can make something without an equal (Act 2, Scene 6) which is a very intelligent thing to say. Whereas, in the movie they kiss and giggle the entire time. This leads the viewer to believe that film versions wanted the two to look like fools, that they could not do anything the way it is normally done because they are children in search of quick love. This is bad because it is not very realistic. In real life, young adults would take the matter seriously because they know it is a major step in life. Because the play is not entirely trying to make the two look bad, it is the better production.
The big talk with all teens these days, is romeo and juliet (not really). They are all wondering the same exact question: Whose fault is it that romeo and juliet went through their horrible tragedy together. Is it the families?... Romeo?… The friar?… Well, you guessed it in the title. It is all juliet's fault that all of this ever went down. The main idea of the essay today will be how juliet messed up everything. Yes, there were many other people that contributed to their deaths, like the nurse, but the main problem of all of this, is Juliet. I will talk about her main mess ups and how she could have fixed these problems.
I think you should let Romeo and Juliet be together for the following reasons. One, if Romeo and Juliet can love each other despite being from two families that hate each other then who is to say the two families can't get along just enough to let them be together. Two, if Romeo and Juliet were still here and did get married they could have brought there two families closer on a mutual agreement for the couple. Three, Romeo and Juliet are dead, they both killed themselves over each other because you didn't let them be together.
The Death Scene in the text version has more tension. It perfectly states the events that occur between Romeo and Juliet that leads them to their death. On the other hand, the Luhrmann version also describes well the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet but has a lot of differences due to its modern time era.
Since Romeo and Juliet are madly in love, they both think the same way about exile. But, the acting of Juliet in the 1968 movie did not perform at a standard where the emotions affect the audience. Despite the acting in the 1968 movie version of Romeo and Juliet, the movie depicts the story the way Shakespeare wanted to which also helps the audience understand the message. Lastly, the 1996 movie version of Romeo and Juliet has some strength and weaknesses that will signify whether that this version is better than the 1968 version. One of this movies specific strength was the emotional performances of the dialog.
Romeo and Juliet has been told or shown many different ways. One would be the Romeo and Juliet 1968 version. The other two are called William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and the Romeo and Juliet 1996 version. I will show you how all of these tragedies are different and similar to each other, and that they are not all the same as some may think.
Although the film Romeo and Juliet (1996) is similar to the original play by William Shakespeare, it also differs in some respects. Firstly, both the film and original play both take place in a society with Elizabethan era values, such as the man having the power in a family and women being expected to marry and do housework. Secondly, the characters in both the play and the movie have the same relationships. Such as Romeo and Juliet being lovers, and Tybalt despising the Montagues. However, the time period and place is different. In the film the events take place in a modern city called Verona Beach, with cars, guns, and helicopters. The original play, which takes place in Verona, Italy in the 16th century. The play used swords and horses.

The poisoned youth that's what we are. Our generation is filled with lies and secrets a time where everyone knows everyone's business and rumors spread quick. Some people say that before us, teenagers were more respectful towards their parents and listened to them well, but is that really true? In the olden days kids still disrespected their parents they just didn't know.
I have always been interested in Greek and Roman mythology their roles in modern society. Erebus and Aurora is a spin on Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. I changed the Capulets into Romans and the Montagues into Greeks. This allowed me to shown my own interpretation of Romeo and Juliet and give insight into how I view the personalities of the gods. Since the publication of Percy Jackson in 2005, people have become more interested in the Greek and Roman Gods so I think that Erebus and Aurora will appeal to a modern audience.

Shakespeare’s is a grandiose playwright and poet who had written numerous literacies texts. For instance, his sonnets or Shakespeare’s most known drama “Romeo and Juliet”.
I felt bad for Juliet in the end of the movie but not in the play because you couldn't really understand what was going on. Most of the scenes were different in the movie than the play. The first scene in the movie was at a gas station not in the streets. The fight scene between Romeo and Tybalt was at a beach not the Capulet party.
The Shakespearean play of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ have been interrelated into two main film versions by the directors, Baz Luhrmann who adapted the 1996 version of Romeo + Juliet while Franco Zeffirelli who directed the 1968 version of the iconic play. Although they use the same original script written by Shakespeare, these two films are very different but both films look at the universal ideas of love and conflict through the setting and plot.
Have you ever read or watch the movie Romeo and Juliet? No well it’s about it’s about a heartbreaking love story about two people who are madly in love and Juliet’s parents won’t let them be together. So I’m here to tell you three reasons what they could have done differently about the movie.
Baz Luhrmann’s film adaption of Romeo and Juliet presents the audience with an engaging and responsive modern interpretation of the 16th Century society. His adaptation of the play allows the audience to immerse themselves into the new relatable context, while still staying true to the morals and plotline of Shakespeare’s traditional work. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare has integrated time appropriate humor, mentions of royalty, and allusions to historical and biblical events. Simultaneously, Luhrmann does this as, however instead he pulls numerous references from the 20th Century, such as the recent emergence of pop culture. Shakespeare and Baz Luhrmann both strive to please their audiences with costumes and context appropriate music while teaching them the basic moral of the story.
