Although the film Romeo and Juliet (1996) is similar to the original play by William Shakespeare, it also differs in some respects. Firstly, both the film and original play both take place in a society with Elizabethan era values, such as the man having the power in a family and women being expected to marry and do housework. Secondly, the characters in both the play and the movie have the same relationships. Such as Romeo and Juliet being lovers, and Tybalt despising the Montagues. However, the time period and place is different. In the film the events take place in a modern city called Verona Beach, with cars, guns, and helicopters. The original play, which takes place in Verona, Italy in the 16th century. The play used swords and horses.
In Romeo and Juliet, the death scene is truly an emotional scene compared to all parts of the movie. The book and the movie have different aspects of why this scene is the same, but also has some parts to be different.
The Film “Romeo+Juliet” showed the effective way Shakespeare’s version had intended, but it had some flaws. The scenes were effective in a way and added mood to the original Shakespeare version of the play. Not exactly everything was added from Shakespeare’s version to the film such as change in words, meanings and the way the plot was presented as in Paris wasn’t killed by Romeo or Juliet’s aftermath of drinking the potion. Now the film itself showed the famous story of Romeo and Juliet, but it also added genres that the play did not have except for some which the idea of the making a film could’ve been different if comedy and tragic moments were not added.
Im Shakespeare tragedy , Romeo and Juliet have fallen for each other. They are faced with many challenges throughout their love which eventually lead to their death. They´re two different versions of this play;one is by Baz Luhrmann which is more modern and has really nothing to do with the play then there is the one by Franco Zeffirelli which has more things in common with the actual play. In Act V Scene iii ¨The Death Scene¨ both directors have different ways of showing how the ¨two star-crossed lovers¨ die.
The leading example of the lesson taught is when Romeo and Juliet have their first night together. Their meeting arises immediate disregards to their families hatred for one another and results in plans for a secret marriage. It begins when Romeo goes to the Capulet ball with his friends and meets Juliet. Their exchanges are interrupted when Juliet must go to her Mother. Later, the nurse tells Juliet that Romeo is a Montague. Juliet overlooks this the extent of this issue and says, “My only love sprung from my only hate! / Too early seen unknown; / and known too late! / Prodigious birth of love it is to me / that I must love a loathed enemy” (Shakespeare 1.5.151,155). Juliet and Romeo both know that what they are doing is wrong, but Juliet
William Shakespear's drama book Romeo & Juliet takes place in Verona, Italy where the streets are divided between two groups of people, the Montagues and the Capulets. A boy named Romeo is a Montague and a girl named Juliet is a Capulet. The two of them saw each other at a party and supposedly fell in love. One theme of Romeo and Juliet that the story suggests is love v. infatuation. While some may believe that the central theme is that even though two groups of people dislike each other doesn’t mean love can't grow, I argue that Romeo and Juliet met and "instantly" fell in love might not be completely true – as evidence by WIlliam's Shakespear's use of dialogue, repetition, and tone. Do they really love each other internally or is it just a crush?
Romeo and Juliet tells the tale of two young lovers forbidden to be together because of the long-lasting feud between their two families. No matter what their families may think of each other Romeo and Juliet knew that their love for each other was true and they persisted in being with each other. The two bring out the best in each other and have done things that weren’t really thought of as things they would do prior to their meeting, for example, Juliet seems to have brought light into Romeo’s life as opposed to before they met when he came off as this depressed boy that was stuck on a girl that would never like him back. Juliet at the beginning didn’t really seem to be the type to rush into marriage, but after she met Romeo she instantly knew that
It is well known that there are two different versions of the play Romeo and Juliet in motion picture. They are both mind-blowingly amazing, with basically the same plot and storyline, but they are different in so many ways. The 1968 version is harder to understand because of the lack of necessary props and costumes, yet it is the classic version, so it is usually more favorable of the two. The 1996 version should be shown to high schoolers, as it is viewed as the easier version to understand because of its more modern setting, props, costumes, and the way the characters act with one another.
Do you think most original versions of something is better than the newer version of it? Well I think so. There is an original version of “Romeo and Juliet” and there is a modern version of it. The plot in the original version was so different from the modern one. The modern version had way less characters than the original. There is a lot of differences between the two versions. The two versions had differences that consist of the plot, characters, and the ending.
No one knows when William Shakespeare was born but it is estimated around April 23, 1564 his work was known from all over the world and is still known to this very day and some of his history is still unknown of his past. Some examples of his work is Romeo and Juliet, By 1592, there is evidence William Shakespeare earned a living as an actor and a playwright in London and possibly had several plays produced. William Shakespeare got married on November 28, 1582 to a woman named Anne Hathaway who was 26 years old while William was only 18 years old, and had three children named Susanna, Judith, and Hamnet, who ended up dying at the age of 11 years old.
Romeo is a Montague, rival to the Capulet family. This is bad because he involves himself with Juliet who is a Capulet and they end up getting married. I decided to pick this character to analyze because I thought he was the most interesting to and is a main character. Personally, I do not identify with this character because he is not like who I am and he is completely not my type to date, but on the other hand I like his personality and heart. I like the way that he is a nicer guy who cares for who he dates, but I think that he cares too much to the point where he kills himself for a girl, and I wouldn’t want someone that clingy in my life. I believe that Romeo’s main attributes of himself are that he is
Both versions directed by Baz Luhrmann and Franco Zeffirelli, of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet have similarities and differences. In Zeffirelli’s version the montagues and capulets were easy to tell apart by the color of their cloths and hats. In Luhrmann version you can also tell the montagues and capulets apart, but not by the color of their cloths but by the color of their cars. Both versions are also similar because they have the same family feud that has been going on for several of years. To conclude, Zeffirelli and Luhrmann are similar in many in many ways.

In music and in literature, there is a demonstration as to where a male character conveys his love and affection towards a female character. The song “Michelle” is performed by artist Sir Paul McCartney at the White House. In “Michelle” the male character expresses his feelings and emotions through speaking French because the woman that he is speaking to does not speak English and he wants her to understand. The play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is written by author William Shakespeare. Romeo lays eyes upon Juliet for the first time and he expresses his emotions for her through the words that he speaks. His enthusiastic response soon reveals that Romeo believes that Juliet is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. After examining both
I am very displeased with the way you have treated your family. I agree, your daughter Juliet did act out of place. You had been very flexible in allowing her to choose her path, and she took advantage of that, but in no way is it correct to hit your wife for trying to calm you down. I understand that where and when you come from the way you acted is allowed, but do you really think what you did is morally rectified. It’s alright to get angry, it’s even fine to yell, however, it is inexcusable to abuse your wife. Not only did you physically hurt her but mentally as well. Having her daughter right in front of her when you hit her must have made her feel so worthless and shameful. Nowadays, many people are belittled by the public for acting in
The original setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was the fair city of Verona located in Northern Italy during the 1300’s. Shakespeare chose this location due to it being well known for being for being a passionate as well as exotic city. This choice of setting allowed Shakespeare to convey both the violent and passionate tones of his play. Luhrman's adaptation of the play however is situated in modern day Verona beach which is said to be a variation of Venice beach. Verona beach appears to be a gloomy yet dramatic city accompanied by it’s run down amusement park on the beach and litter filled streets with a warm sun behind it all. All of these aspects of the settings helps to showcase the passion and violence of the play as the sketchiness
