needs to master in order to survive in society. Electives prepare students for their future as successful United States citizens and workers. Elective courses can additionally provide guidance to high school students when it comes to occupational choice. It is written that, “…Roslyn High School recently added nine electives, many in business specialties like sports and entertainment marketing, investments, and accounting because many of its graduates pursue business careers” (Hu, 2008, para. 7). It is difficult for students to discover if they would truly enjoy a professional career by simply knowing they enjoy math class. When high schools grant students the opportunity to take elective courses that are extremely similar to an actual occupation,

In the hypothetical case, the Rockshire High School official had reasonable cause to search Britney Sullivan’s cell phone for evidence that she and other students cheated on their AP History exam. The administrator suspects Britney because (1) the students scored extremely high on the AP History test (2) Britney has been in trouble in the past and is in the AP History class and (3) a teacher received a reliable tip from another student describing how the students cheated using social media. According to the Supreme Court case (New Jersey v. TLO, 469 U.S. 325 (1985).) the school administrator had the right to search the contents of the student's cell phone, since the administrator had reasonable cause to suspect the student of school policy infractions. The court’s decision in this case is that the student officials do not hold the same accountability of the police under search and seizure. Police are held to the strict accountability of probable cause while school officials according to the Supreme Court have only to prove reasonable cause. In this hypothetical case the supreme court would support the decision of the Rockshire High School administration to search a student's cell phone as evidence for cheating based on the fact that the administrator had evidence to support reasonable cause. The Supreme Court states, “reasonable grounds
One of the expectations for students is to do their work individually and with complete honesty. At Robert Vela High School, honor code system is established to help the students achieve those expectations. If they do not, there are underlying consequences that would teach them a lesson. The honor code established at Robert Vela High School (RVHS) should be maintained for it includes rules concerning the academic misconduct of the students, however, students tend to not take them seriously because they are not enforced efficiently. Without implementing the system effectively, students’ integrity will be at stake, teachers will lose their authority, grade point average and rankings will be at risk, and students will not be prepared for college.

In the case involving the Rankin County School Board, the Brandon High School Band, and the Rankin County District Office there are two main legal/constitutional issues. The first issue is the constitutionality of promoting Christianity at a public school and the second issues is the court order from a federal judge prohibiting the school district from promoting religious ideologies. With that being said, the Rankin County School Board has been sued before in violation of a students’ first amendment right, which grants the student freedom of and from religion. The student felt forced to participate in a prayer at a school event. After the Rankin County School Board was sued over the allegations, a policy was adopted in order to prevent the
The time has come for the students at Saltillo High School to wave goodbye to their principal. In a short amount of time, Mr. Devaughn will retire and leave the student body to wonder who will lead them next. Now students must consider their expectations of how a principal should carry out their job. The school board should take into account these expectations when choosing who they wish to represent the school. After much thought, the students of Saltillo High School have decided that they need a principal who can create a good school community, discipline the students, and act fairly.
If you’re looking for a way to demolish the school grading system you should call a student by the name of Anna K. Mope of Sacramento, C.A. I think she’s found it.

Not only would the student not sacrifice school work, the elective may actually improve it. A student who is compelled, by an elective, to take part in something they enjoy will be a student who is calmer and happier. This student will then be better able to complete major-specific classes.
Sherwood Middle School’s students as well as parents were shocked at the news that Sherwood Middle School was hiring a new vice principal in place of Kevin McIntosh. The new vice principal’s name is Marc Jolley. The reason Mr.Jolley is here is because recently, Mr.McIntosh had made the choice to leave the Sherwood school district. While many students are untroubled and rather pleased with the new change, others are wondering if it was the right decision to hire Mr.Jolley.

As we grow up we hear the saying, “Kids are the future.” If that is true then why should we limit students by not having a large variety of elective classes. It is true that a student doesn’t necessarily need a large variety of elective classes to choose from, but it wouldn’t hurt for them to have choices. By providing them with an assortment of elective classes it could unlock a student’s potential and help them succeed in life.
