Rumpelstiltskin
Once upon a time a man with a beautiful daughter came upon his king. When speaking to the king he wanted to seem of importance and special so he said to the king “My daughter is not only beautiful but she can spin straw into gold”(P. 1 Brothers Grimm Online). Of course the man was bluffing in order to impress the king. Amazed the king requires the Miller's daughter's presence the next day to put her skills to the test. The next day the girl was brought forth and placed in a room full of straw and was required to spin straw into gold by the following morning or die. However the girl could not really spin straw into gold. She sat in the room alone pretty much waiting to die when a man entered the room who could spin straw into

1 Brothers Grimm Online) The little man then offered to spin the straw into gold for the girl for a price. The little man said “The price being your necklace.”, “my necklace?” the girl replied. (P. 1 Brothers Grimm Online)
By daybreak the next morning all of the straw in the room was turned to gold. The King entered the room and was astonished by how the girl was able to spin all the straw into gold. The king then got very greedy, and took her to another room which was a little bit bigger and said “Turn this straw into gold if you treasure your life”.(P. 2 Brothers Grimm Online) The lady did not think she was going to live but then walked in the little man and asked “What would you give if I turned the straw into gold for you again?”. “My ring?” the girl answered. The little man then proceeded to turn the straw into gold and was done by day break. The King rejoiced beyond measure when walking into the room and saw that all the straw was turned to gold. The king still did not feel he had enough but wanted more. He was so desperate he told the miller's daughter that he shall marry her if she can turn another room of straw into gold. The little

She agreed only because she did not have any other choice in this situation. And when the king came in the morning, and found all as he had wished, he took her in marriage, and the pretty miller's daughter became a queen. A year later the beautiful queen brought as beautiful child into the world. She loved the child dearly and wished to raise him to be a wonderful prince. Then one day while alone with the child in a room in the castle the small man appeared seeking to claim what he believed to be rightfully his. The queen of course was no longer willing to give up the child. She instead offered the little man all of her riches instead. The little man however refused the deal claiming that something that is alive is much more valuable to him than all the treasures in the world. The queen began to cry uncontrollably because of her great sadness. The little man pitied the queen and offered her a deal. He said “You have three days time in which you are to guess my name and if you fail to guess my name the child is mine forever. If you somehow are able to guess my name you will keep the child forever”.(P. 2 Brothers Grimm Online) The queen thought long and hard the
The father in the story asked his princess how much she loves him. She answered saying, "I love you like salt." The father then got angry and sent her out the castle. Her and her family didn't see each other until her wedding. After the wedding took place, the princess gave the servants food cooked with salt but cooked her mother, father and sisters' food with sugar for several days. At the end of the week, they were all tired of then sweet food that they can no longer eat it. She finally cooked them dinner with salt instead of sugar and her father realized that people cannot eat their food without salt. The father misunderstood about his daughter's answer about loving him. He got angry and sent his princess because of his poor self-esteem. He was expecting his daughter to say "I love you very much" just like his other daughters but he misinterpret the different
I walked into the room and said “ Good evening mistress miller, why are you crying so? “ She looked at me with tears running down her face and she began to say. “ I have to spin the straw into gold, but I do not know how to do it. “ To be quite honest with you, I pitied the young miller very much, but I was a very poor man so if I was going to help her I wanted something in return. So I politely asked “ What will you give me, if I do it for you?” She looked at me and gave me the ring on her
She tells her that she must always remain good and devout, and that God will help her and she will watch over her from heaven. Eventually Cinderella’s father remarries. His new wife has two daughters who although beautiful are said to be black at heart. They are terribly mean to Cinderella and will not even let her eat with them because they say she did not earn it. She is forced to work and wear shabby gray frocks and wooden shoes. One day her father travels to the fair and asks the daughters what he can bring them. The materialistic sisters asked for fine clothes and jewels. Cinderella on the other hand, asks for the first twig that brushes against her father’s hat on his return. The sisters make fun of Cinderella for this, yet she took the twig and planted it on her mother’s grave. Her tears watered it and a great tree emerged. Cinderella would go daily to the tree and pray. A bird would always be there, and whatever Cinderella asked for it would throw down.
It is interesting to note that when the Queen receives Snow White?s heart, she eats it. ?And [the heart] was salted and cooked and the wicked woman ate it up, thinking that there was an end of Snow White? (Grimm and Grimm 168). This is a remnant of a primitive cannibalistic belief that one receives power and characters through what is consumed. By devouring what she is told to be Snow White?s heart, the Queen believes she is capturing Snow White?s beauty and power within herself (Sale, 1979). These instances show that the Queen was driven to act by her envy of Snow White?s beauty, which was said to be more beautiful than her own. As she saw Snow White?s beauty as a threat to her own (and through it, her power), she saw the need to eliminate Snow White completely. In consuming Snow White?s heart not only is she celebrating her triumph over Snow White, but she is reinforcing her own beauty and vitality.
Richard Kuklinski, known as the “ The Iceman” was an American contract killer and serial killer. He was born in 1935 in New Jersey and suffered a rough childhood leading him to commit his first murder at the age of 14. Because of his lack of education he was forced to find a living as a hitman for the Genovese, Gambino and DeCavalcante families. He got his nickname, "The Iceman", for his method of freezing victims to obscure their time of death. Richard Kuklinski was convicted of two murders but claimed to have killed at least 200 others.
Thus, the Grimm’s tale ends with a Queen married to a man that tried to kill her multiple times, a Miller who practically sent his daughter to the grave trying to look good in front of royalty, and a männlein who probably didn’t die, but simply made a dramatic escape. Did they live happily ever after? no, not really. Was the story a cathartic experience for the reader? Far from it; in fact, the story now leaves more questions unanswered than it did at the start. Wouldn’t the king realize that if the miller’s daughter could actually spin straw into gold they wouldn’t be poor? Why would Rumpelstiltskin agree to spin gold in return for even less gold? Why does Rumpelstiltskin want a baby? What was he going to do with the baby once he got it? the
In particular, quite a broad topic of food. At the beginning of the story, the apple could indicate parental sustenance and to come extent opposition. The same equally relates to other tales in which apple implies a direct danger rather than security and protection, especially, in "Snow White" (Grimm, Grimm, Heins, & Hyman, 1974). In the tale, the boy is also a food and reasonably a dangerous one. The millstone is mainly used to mill flour for bread and in this story, it becomes an instrument of death. It can be stated that food is joined with death. Murdering, death, and even cannibalism in the tale is shown through the mother's violence towards the boy and a mistake of a father in eating him during a dinner. However, the stepmother is eventually disturbed by anxiety and guilt and attempts to cover up her doings and that is truly unusual for the character of the evil stepmother. A theme of betrayal is shown in rather a parenting context. Both the stepmother and the father betray their son in the tale. Particularly, the stepmother betrays him through the obvious acts of violence and constant mendacity. As to father, he betrays his son through his own passivity. In further, the boy reincarnates into a bird and while singing, he blames both of his parents. A theme of blood is presented in the tale in one particular setting when the woman, under a juniper tree, cuts herself to the blood and wishes for a child who is "as red as blood and as white as snow" (Grimm & Grimm, 1986). A theme of parenting is shown mainly through the acts of the father, stepmother and partially the real mother of the boy. Throughout the story, it is possible to recognize unaware fear of the ability of the mother to reject safety and sustenance. This fear attributes both as to the stepmother as to the biological one. The father, in turn, remains rather a passive figure in parenting. As

The Amish tradition of Rumspringa allows and encourages 16-year-old Amish teens to experiment and explore adulthood. Some of them go to the movies or the mall. The Amish think that before a young adult is committed to their church for their lifespan, they must explore many pleasurable activities or things ahead of time and “get it out of the way.” The majority of teens explore by going to parties, having sex, and driving fast cars. The parties that they throw are crazy, out of control, and dangerous. These inexperienced teens drink heavy amounts of alcohol and experiment hard drugs. Although Rumspringa is a sacred Amish tradition, there must be changes to the guidelines to restrict dumb teenagers from making dire decisions that can cause harm. In my opinion, I would strongly consider that Rumspringa should be parent supervised
Fairy tales usually have happy ending. What could have been a better alternative ending of the story?
She does not question nor challenge the dwarves and is willing to provide whatever duties they ask for. Snow-white is incapable of defending and looking after herself, and is dependant on the company and care of men. In contrast to men, who in traditional fairy tales are seen as strong, selfless and handsome. They have roles as warriors while achieving their goals with persistence and resilience. Snowwhite and other innocent women act as the damsel in distress as they cannot rescue themselves and require assistance from men. This teaches young audiences that girls are expected to play a submissive role, in a patriarchal society, and that Snow White amongst other traditional fairy tales represent women’s lives being influenced by men. On top of all of this, it is passively conveyed that male figures only help the beautiful women, who are worthy of marriage. The prince took Snow-white and her glass coffin when she was in her deep slumber as she was beautiful. If Snow-white had been unattractive, or ugly, he would not taken her and the coffin, as a woman’s beauty was one of her best features, and made her eligible for a wealthy marriage. This gives the impression that men value vanity and a woman’s house skills, which would make her worthy of marriage and bearing his children.

Grimm’s fairy tale is very very very basic, it gives a small paragraph of a young princess who drops her golden ball into a very deep well. While she is sitting and crying a small frog comes along and tells the young princess that if she takes care of him and loves him then he will retrieve her beloved ball. She agrees and he does so, but when he comes up with the ball she takes off running back to her castle. Later that night the princess and her father are eating at the grand table when there is a knock on the door, the princess runs over and too her surprise it’s the frog explaining that he got her ball for her so she must take care of him, she slams the door in his face and runs back to her table so he yells out and he father hears him and demands of the princess that she must take care of him. Mad and upset she
