Child development is the biological, psychological and emotional changes that occur in individuals between birth and the end of adolescence. (Wiki) Child development is inevitably altered when obstacles such as mental instability and abandonment arise, ultimately affecting children going into adulthood.

In the article "Chance and Circumstance" by David Leonhardt he speaks about a lot of subjects. These subjects ranged from hockey players in Canada to Bill Gates and Malcolm Gladwell. Malcolm Gladwell was a man who graduated from University of Toronto. He had then moved to the United States to try journalism (578). Bill Gates was a man with a advantage over many because he himself states that he had more exposure to software then maybe anyone at the time (579). David also states things about teenagers being born in the beginning of the year are stronger, older and taller than their peers. David interviewed a parent at the championship game at the Canadian junior league, which he later found out that the son of the man was born January fourth. He then discovered that the son, hockey player of the man was big for his age (580). A challenge that I have always gone through in baseball would be that I was always the shortest, youngest and at times the weakest.

During Mr. Rosenberg’s leave we learned different dramatic elements such as script analysis, stasis and intrusion, dramatic conflict, etc. This helps us to understand the different elements so one day when we have to apply the elements we will already be mindful of them. Additionally, we also learned about the beginning of theater dating back to ancient Greece and their different ways of displaying theater.

Runner is a novel about Charlie Feehan written by Robert Newton. This semi-nonfictional novel brings Charlie on a wild adventure into uncharted territories. It is set in the streets of Richmond, Melbourne in 1919. Charlie is a young adult who lives in a damp and mouldy house with his Ma and his baby brother, Jack. Charlie has to make a living so he quits schools and sets out find the dirtiest job he can get his hands on. Through himself and other close individuals, Charlie is able to further build his experiences using the lessons he’s learnt. Charlie learns some of these lessons and experiences from close friends as they circle around Charlie being close to him and teaching him things just by being by his side. Squizzy Taylor and the Ballarat mile are some other very influential points as well.

Life is the toughest thing you will do in your life. It is the test on how well you can survive the world, and all of its cruel punishments. It is the assessment on how to cope with the bad, so the good times seem greater. Life can throw a enormous amount of cruel events that sometimes are unavoidable. Not everything in life is bad, but people tend to make things much worse than what they really are. People over exaggerate many events that could be easily fixed, but then there are the people who are not exaggerating the paing and irony they are facing. There is a number of ways of how to cope with tragedies, such as being with friends, talking with family, or just doing something fun to keep your mind off of the harsh environments

Have you ever been forced to pick between right and wrong? Sometimes we are forced to choose between two hard choices, despite the consequences. In the book “Runner” by Carl Deuker, a boy named Chance is faced with a rough life, where his father drinks and his mother is no longer present. He lives on a boat with his father, in Seattle. Soon he is faced to with a offer to run packages around for men he doesn’t know, but get paid in the process. His small family needs the money, but who knows what is in those packages? He takes the opportunity for the money and goes through many adventures throughout this book, such as meeting a girl named Melissa, who lives the opposite life of his, privileged and nice.

"Perpetual Motion" by Tony Hoagland discusses the same idea of desiring an escape from reality and it becoming compulsive over time. As a result, it may lead to a permanent separation from reality as the need for separation, rereferred to as, a contagious disease, takes further refuge inside a person's mind. The narrator of the poem initially desires a destination beyond their reality, which, in their case, is Saturn. This need for an escape is beyond their control and has become compulsive in a similar way to how my anxiety dictates my life apart from society. The narrator has no control over it and their separation has now become subsequently linked to a disease that they have contracted.

The title of the book "Running on empty", by Peter G. Peterson tells what really happens behind the scenes of both Democratic party and Republican party, and how in their own way they are bankrupting our future. "Running on Empy" provides a cogent look at americans political, and physical deterioration describing the financial crisis in the United States. Having hands on experience with this several political and govenment views Mr. Peterson discuss how our country is totally in debt and how we as americans can rebuild our future. Being a republican Peterson calls out mistakes made by both parties being equally irresponsible and presenting nonpartisan solutions. As a Democrate I believe that the democratic party focuses more on everyone being equally happy and healthy and ignores the fact that they could help the financial crisis by decreasing some of the social programs they 've created that help people in our society. I truly believe that some of the programs that were created by the democrats have cost our citizems an exponential amt of money, with minimal improvement to our society. Also , a lot of these elected programs have handicapped our society. I personally believe that if you teach a person to fish , they will always eat. But, if you just feed people the fish you 've caught , it promotes laziness and the people will eventually starve. My take on this comparison is that the democrats only supply the fish to the less unfortunate and the Republicans teach the less

constantly in many sources and evidence of the past. This has led many historians to merely regard race as another mode of explanation, which is the case for studying race in Latin America.

Born to Run by Christopher McDougall is a nonfiction book about how Chris searches throughout the world on the journey to find out why does your foot hurt. In this book, Chris travels the world in search of the best runners and stumbles across barefoot runners, which totally revolutionised what he believed was good for your feet. This search brought him to Mexico’s Copper Canyons.

In the article Born to Run by Adam Summers the author presents the idea that we as species evolved from crawling on all 4’s to walking and running on our legs. However, it seems the author may have stumbled into quite an interesting scenario. The idea that we were made to run, the way our muscles look - essentially we’re looking at form following function. While there aren’t that many early fossilized hominids, for example Lucy is said to fit the bill pretty closely with regards to having to constantly run. The author compares our modern day practices of running marathons to our prior days in the deserts and forests of their chosen locality, hunting for food, or avoiding being hunted.

In On The Run, Alice Goffman focuses on a particular group of young Black men living in a poor neighborhood, struggling to live a “good” and “fair” life. These boys from 6th street are segregated from resources that would be found in more economically advanced neighborhoods. A “resource” that they do run into more than often is over policing in their neighborhood. As they are disproportionately targeted for arrest to fill quotas, this constant behavior and events deemed as a norm (even little children play a game about cops catching and being overly aggressive to Black boys), hinders their process at advancing within American society. Systematic oppression against a minority group slows and puts racial tension progress at a standstill, as they are continued victims of larger forces. What truly works against them once locked up and released, is that they were not given a chance based on race, now it becomes based on race plus their criminal history. People in such situations are left with one option, in order for them to survive and provide for their families, they must do it through illegal activity. Locking people up and returning then into the same environment which had limited resources does nothing to solve larger powers at play. Laws and documents may exist that describe an “equal” and “fair” society, but without action, words seem to hold less value. The Declaration of Independence, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, are both documents meant to symbolize

Poetry can take many forms and shapes based on the authors personal experiences. These different styles can also be interpreted in many different ways based on the reader’s view of the poem. This possible change in views can give the poem many different meanings to each individual person. “Richard Cory” by Edwin Robinson, Edwin imbeds many of his past and personal experiences into the poem while still leaving the poem up to other peoples imagination and analysis’s.
