Salvador Dali was a Spanish artist, born on may 11, 1904, in figures, Spain. He died on January 23, 1989. Although he experimented with many art styles and art mediums within his lifetime, he is most famous for his surrealist paintings, and is one of the most prominent artists of the surrealist movement. He is perhaps best known for his 1931 painting The Persistence of Memory, showing melting clocks in a landscape setting. At an early age, Salvador showed signs of strong artistic talent, and was strongly supported by his parents.
