My Theory My theory is Sam Westing is not dead because I was told by reading the book he looked like a wax dummy. Also Turtle and the police was the only one that saw his body. This is what I think. I think Sam Westing is not dead because Turtle Wexler said “He looked like he was asleep and he looked like a wax dummy.” Also Turtle said “ she had seen that corpse in the Westing house, but it was not sprawled on an Oriental rug.” Turtle heard a type of whisper, that said pur-ple or Tur-tle. Sam Westing had disappeared along time ago according to the book. My conclusion I think Sam Westing is just hiding in his house from other people. Those are my reasons of why I think Sam Westing is NOT dead.
The article “Dead man still walking: Explaining the zombie renaissance” by Kyle Bishop is about the revitalization of the zombie genre. The article talks about the inception in the late 1960’s, the category of zombie films has had its roller coaster ride of ups and downs, starting with its decline in the early 1980’s with the release of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video. Furthermore, during 1990’s, due to the shift in the cultural consciousness that came with the Clinton Administration and the countries isolation from global tragedies, the popularity of these films continued to decline. Cultural consciousness refers to the understanding and awareness a shift in feelings, sensations, thoughts, of not only our own culture, but adjoining cultures.
No one! Sam Westing eventually died of old age. He had lived under four different names (Sam Westing, Barney Northrup, Sandy McSouthers, Julian Eastman). He lived the last days of his life as Sandy McSouthers the doorman.
“Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned.” Within the article the tale of Cornel West`s ascension to fame and his descent into despair is rehashed all because he allowed his love for President Obama to turn sour. Giving a brief overview of the article it begins by discussing the distain that Cornel West harbors toward President Barack Obama, as the article continues on the initial tone that Dyson set is lost amongst the admiration and praise that Dyson holds for West. As the article persists Cornel west`s brilliance is highlighted by his personal works. However, toward the end of the article as Cornel West allows his contempt and hubris to cloud his judgement his vision of the future becomes shrouded in darkness. His work begins to stagnate and his descent into despair from fame drives him “mad”. West`s coup de grâce to his career was turning against his supporters in a fit of rage. The article The Ghost of Cornel West by Eric Dyson reads like a Greek tragedy written from a firsthand perspective. It is possible that the reason it reads like a Greek tragedy is because Dyson`s has a personal grudge against West.
My Brother Sam Is Dead. What is it about that statement that develops the book so much? I think that when you start reading the book that the title interests you and draws you to read it more. There are so many different ways that it can be interpreted you don't know what to expect until your done with the book and all the pieces fit together. The statement
My theory is that Sam Westing wasn’t murdered at all. I think that Westing is using his game to find the rightful heir to inherit his estate and wealth. Also, I think that he faked his death to throw off the heirs and pull the keen from the dense.
The people that were following him could have got spooked when they saw Mrs. Grinder and turned away and left. But later that night they came back and decided to finish what they had started. After they killed him they took all of his money and important files. They then left Meriwether for as good as dead. The next morning Mrs. Grinder and her children came into his cabin and seen that he had been hurt, and then they went to get the servants to help him. When the servants got to him it was too late for them to save him. It is possible that Mrs. Grinder and her slave had tried to help him through the night when he had been hurt but they did not know how to treat his shots. Mrs. Grinder could have been overwhelmed with what had happen that night and got her stories confused with what really happen to him that night. But there is no one that said they saw him shoot himself, all that you heard is that they heard the gunshots. And Mrs. Grinder said that earlier that day she seen some people following him on the Trace. It is possible that she could have seen the people who killed him and just did not know
He was found lying on the couch with blood on his shirt. In this case, his wife was murdered as well. She was murdered in the bedroom by several hits in the back of the head. The back of her head was hit nineteen times. In conclusion, the bodies were so damaged that they were at first unrecognizable.
The Hall-Mills Murder “You better call Becky with the good hair”, is a lyric from Beyonce’s album Lemonade. The album was inspired by her husband Jay Z, who was cheating on her with another woman. Like Beyonce, there are many other women that have been cheated on before and got revenge on their partner, but in other cases the revenge could end deadly. The Hall-Mills Murder is a case in which a preacher named Edward Hall and a choir girl named Eleanor Mills were having a affair. Mysteriously, the couple were found together, dead.
Farrin Davis has always been able to glimpse at the spiritual echoes left behind by the dead. It's the first thing he can clearly remember as a child. If someone was to ask him what his first memory is he wouldn't be able to tell them for it was the death of someone he shouldn't have known. He never told his parents for something had always warned him about telling them. He knew who, or what, but he never questioned it, knowing it was for the best even at such a young age.
In the novel, a man by the name of Sam Westing started “The Westing Game.” In the game, the heirs are trying to figure out who murdered Sam Westing. But at the end, they find out he was never dead. In the movie, all of the heirs go to Sunset Towers and the game is made. The heirs try to figure out who killed Sam Westing. They soon learn that he is still alive. The book and movie are very similar.
While trying to figure out what to do with the body they go have a look at the cook Mrs. Ho to find her murdered in the kitchen, with the knife in her back. On coming back to the study Mr. Boddy has vanished to be later found bleeding from the head in the washroom attacked with the candlestick.
I have 1 theory to back up mine they didn't do an autopsy on sam westing and if he was really dead they would of done an autopsy. My other theory is that i think he wanted attention and fake his death because
, carries weighty implications: it establishes an essential equality between people and provides for an essential justice among people stemming not from law but fromargument and conversation. Douglass holds out the possibility of a public sphere in which thedictates of law and culture can be debated, tested, and, perhaps, altered. He implicitly calls fortha place, in the words of James Boyd White, proceeding from argument and conversation, a place“for complicating clichés and first attitudes into deeper understanding and for extendingimaginative sympathy to those differently situated from ourselves…a place of coherence in a process of cultural change” (White 274).By writing
Wayne Westerberg was one of his friends he met while on his little expedition, the few he trusted and didn’t show all of ‘Alex’ to.
Die, made in 1968, is a minimalist sculptural artwork by renowned American artist Tony Smith. Smith had originally prototyped the sculpture in 1962, when he made a six-inch cardboard model, but he did not have Die fabricated until 1968. The final format of Die is a six-foot cube of quarter-inch hot-rolled steel that is held together by internal steel bracing. To have it created, Smith worked with the Industrial Welding Company in Newark, New Jersey, which owes to its rusty, industrial external appearance. As one of first steel sculptures, it went on to inspire much of his later work.
