PACE Career Narrative and Personal Introduction
While going through the process of the P.A.C.E. brainstorm I have learned more about what my strong suits are as well as what I need to work more on. The brainstorm process did not really guide me to any specific field because I already had a pretty good clue about what I wanted to do, but it did help confirm that I would fit in the field I want to go into. The field that I am interested in is engineering because I am a good problem solver and I enjoy finding out how things work. My ideal career goal is to become a mechanical engineer but if I end up switching to a different kind of engineering I would not be too surprised. Mechanical engineering interests me because I am good with numbers, good at solving problems, and enjoy learning how things work. One experience that I have had that has had a major influence on my career choice is a summer camp that I went to two summers ago where I went to KU for an engineering camp and I chose mechanical engineering to learn about. That experience has impacted me in a huge way and is

However, the hard work you put in is rewarded by the money and benefits you get. The average starting salary for mechanical engineers is $60000, which is not too bad for the beginning of your career. The average salary for mechanical engineers in general is about $83000 while the top engineers can get paid up to $150000. The benefits you get from being a mechanical engineers include medical, dental and vision insurance; vacations; paid sick leave and holidays; and retirement benefits. Certain employers may also offer profit sharing, disability insurance, education assistance and flexible work hours. While mechanical engineering demands a lot out of a person, it does come with its perks, you can still live a comfortable lifestyle while providing for your
When you think about a teacher, you automatically think about someone who teaches kids for a living. Being a teacher doesn’t have to be just teaching children on a daily basis. Teachers are the reasons why a lot of children have grown to love learning and appreciate the effort their teacher has put into their education. Teachers are very important in today’s society and they do a lot for everyone. Teachers aren’t just there to make lesson plans, grade papers, and write on black-boards. Teachers are around because they want to give children a proper education.
The career I chose is a secondary education teacher. More commonly referred to as a highschool teacher. A highschool teacher teaches grades 9th-12th and generally focuses in one subject area. High school teachers help prepare students for life after graduation. They teach academic lessons and various skills that students will need to attend college and to enter the job market (“U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics”). I chose this career because I want to be able to make a difference in young people’s lives and help shape them into good people. “I know that I have a huge impact on my students not just now, but for the rest of their lives,” says Linda Shelly, a high school math teacher in Glendale, arizona. “Seeing them rise to the challenge gives me great pride.” (“Teaching For a Living: Career Outlook”).
I want to be a nurse practitioner when I grow up. A nurse practitioner ,or commonly known as NP, can treat and diagnose illnesses and can also conduct lab tests.(“Welcome to Top Master’s In Healthcare Administration”)
The career I chose to undertake as my profession is that of a mechanical engineer. Why do I want to become a mechanical engineer? Well, for starters, I would be able to design, build and possibly repair many various machines and other technologies that are complex. These technologies can range from being already in use on a global scale to new, futuristic designs that are highly technical. Also, this career includes being a sort of jack-of-all-trades, where I would possess knowledge in mathematics, physics, etc. Finally, this career offers me the chance to expand outside my immediate area since mechanical engineers are well desired around the globe as well.
Nursing is an important scientific career as it benefits society, by utilising their knowledge in medicine. Nursing is seen as an important profession for it makes the health field function properly through assisting other medical staff such as doctors. They help doctors by caring, cleaning and distributing medications to their patients. Nurses contribute to society by providing help to individuals in need and they work as part of a team of professional and medical staff that promotes and restores patients’ health. Nursing jobs include treating patients who are sick and injured, offering supports to patients and their families and taking care of paperwork. An important scientific career is nursing as it provides patients with medical
I have been working on my academic career for many years now. I am currently in my third year of community college, and have come across multiple teachers who have helped and inspired me in many ways. A teacher not only teaches the content of their course, but life skills as well. They are kind, caring, considerate, and understanding of their students. A teacher who goes above and beyond for their students is one that will make a difference. One teacher who I believe has made all the difference to me, was my accounting professor.
Choosing to go back to school? If so it may help you to better understand the resources that you have at your disposal before you start your college career, or even resuming your college career. There are many resources that are available to you through your school and your community. You just have to know where to look, this paper will cover some of the many resources that your school and financial can offer. I hope it is of some help.
I attended the second day of the Winter Engineering Career Fair as an observer. I was immediately overwhelmed by the sheer number of people in attendance. I weaved my way through crowds of people waiting anxiously in line. My first impression of the career fair was that it was filed with a lot of professionally dressed students who were extremely nervous. A lot of them were speaking to themselves, going over their introductions and elevator pitches. People in line were not talking to one another, and most kept rechecking their files to- I’m assuming- make sure they had their resumes and cover letters. I was quite surprised to see this. I had the preconceived notion that people who attended career fairs were older and extremely confident individuals.
The Career Fair Prep Party is on September 21, 2016 in the Ballroom of Atwood Memorial Center. It begins at 11am to 2:30pm. The fair is an opportunity that enable students to network and learn how to amaze employers by doing these four stations offer by the fair: Research, Introduction, Resume and Dress. Among the fair, there are employers coming from various industry and a few of alumni graduates employers as well. I attend the fair because I want to acquire skills of introducing myself to employers, how to research an industry, resume critique, and how to dress properly.
A position in my career of interest would make me consider accepting a job offer. The occupation must offer the ability to use the skills and knowledge I have learned through schooling and practice. A position where I would not be able to use my skills and knowledge would be a waste and not be helpful in the long run. Getting experience in my career of interest can improve my knowledge and skills, which could potentially make me a better candidate for better position or job. Furthermore, experience is what other jobs look for, which could be helpful in the future, when I am looking for advancement.
Introduction- For my research paper I hope to see some amazing opportunities for me that way I can start looking at the perfect college for me to go to and maybe start saving up for it. I hope to accomplish these goals in life so that way I could be successful in life and hopefully be a big influence on some people.
“A true artist is not one who is inspired, but one who inspires others” ("A Quote by Salvador Dalí."). This quote has great meaning to me because inspiring people is something that I would love to have the opportunity to do every day. A career such as Multimedia Art and Animation would allow me to do just that. Multimedia Artists and Animators create visual effects for several different forms of media such as television, movies, and video games (“Summary”). This career interests me because it incorporates several things that I enjoy, programming, video games, and art. It is important for me to understand the education, training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties of my chosen career.
Thank you sir. I look forward to working for you all as well. I would be more than happy to attend the awards dinner on February 22nd. My class should be over by that time, 5:30 pm, but if a I am running late it would be due to that. But I will definitely be there none the less. For the Career Fair on February 23rd, I can be there at 9:45 am until my class at 11:35 am.
Career college preparation typically involves various amounts of post-secondary curricula, just as any traditional college and university would. However, suppose after a considerable investment of resources, one’s misgivings lead to an about-face and a college or university’s doorstep. Might some of those education credits in the career college carry eligibility for transfer where they count for college credit? Generally speaking, unless articulation agreements between subject institutions exist beforehand, salvaging previous curricula probably fares poorly and tenuous at best. And for this reason alone, students find themselves saddled with substantial debt and proprietary education of little value elsewhere. Not to mention the term “college”
The last few years in high school, I told myself I was going to pursue a major that will benefit me no matter the career path I took in life. I was determined to be different from my older siblings. I composed letters, essays, and papers dedicated to the future me and in every one of them, I envisioned the perfect four years of life in college and the start of my success. However, as the first year in college flew by, I no longer had the confidence I once did and the word success found its’ way out of my life. I took courses I that did not interest me, in hopes to find my passion. Then, finally I found myself again within the halls of the business department. I quickly grasped onto the opportunity and walked through
