I always had interest in a clinical research career that serves a large number of people by emphasizing more on research studies by exploring whether a medical strategy, treatment or device is safe and effective for humans. As a graduate in medicine, my strong base in the medical field continually challenged and motivated me to expand my skills in patient care. My coursework has allowed me to develop a keen understanding of how disruption in biological systems can influence one’s health.
“Letto diciassette!” I froze at the sound of “bed seventeen,” and watched with horror as the Italian nurse ran into my grandmother’s hospital room. The monitors were beeping out of control, yet my heart seemed to be beating even faster and louder. I stood at the end of the dimly lit hall, shaking and unable to move. A health care provider spotted me standing there, desperate, alone, and vulnerable, and made her way over to comfort me. The feelings I experienced next were what I remember most when I look back on that dark and gloomy day in Italy. ***The feelings of hope, reassurance and genuine kindness. The feeling that a missing piece of my heart had been put back where it belonged. That is what I remember most and that is the role I want
Your opening position for Medical Assistant, as described, is such a perfect match with my skills, as you will see when you review my resume. I felt like my dreams were slowly being fulfilled before my eyes. I wanted to pursue the medical field in depth and see which type of medical career was best for me. I have been persistent and motivated and this pushed me to achieve my Medical Assistant Certification in June 2006 when I graduated from Clara Barton for Health Professions High school.
My chosen degree program is Associates of Applied Science in Medical Assisting at Kaplan University. I am currently a online student. I have been doing some research of my program and I have came up with a lot of very interesting facts. First the median salary for a Medical Assistant is $28,860 per year that is about $13.87 a hour, that was in May 2010. There could be opportunities it maybe higher, For example, the experience you may have, or the facility you are working in, and even the level of the education that you have (/www. .bls.gov/ooh/healthcare/medical-assistants.htm).
The medical field is one of the fastest occupations in the world. Medical Assistants and LPNs have different roles and responsibilities. You will get a better understanding about each occupation position in the medical field. Understand the difference between the two is not as difficult as it seems. Being a Medical Assistant you must be prepared to face the various types of emergencies. Two most common emergencies that a Medical assistant will be facing are seizures and fainting. In appearance it would seem that fainting and seizures are a little similar they both disrupt the normal consciousness.
A person with the right personality and attitude can influence other 's, and I feel I 'm a great example of that. My personal ambition to reach new heights has also motivated me to apply for the staff position on Skyblocky.

As most kids grow up, their dream job changes all the time. One week they want to fly to the moon as an astronaut while the next week they want to rule the world as president. However, I’ve always wanted to help people by being a doctor. I would sit in front of the television mesmerized for hours by various trauma shows. I preformed surgery on my stuffed animals and diagnosed my friends and family with different fake illnesses. As I continued to grow up, I realized there is many types of jobs in the medical field that preform a variety of different services. After researching the different options, I fell in love with the idea of being a physician assistant (PA). A PA, supervised by a doctor, has the freedom to interpret tests, record progress, and diagnose patients. In order to become a PA, it takes a lot of schooling, but it is a rewarding job that I would be very good at. Ten years from now, I will be a great physician assistant due to the characteristics I already posses and the education that I will be receiving in the future.
A medical assistant is a professional, multi-skilled person who is dedicated to assisting in all aspects of the medical practice. Medical assistants work directly under the physician’s supervision and responsibility. Medical assistants should consistently work hard, be loyal to their physician, be a dependable source, be courtesy to all patients and co-workers at all times, and be flexible. They must always practice confidentiality and have a positive attitude. A medical assistant can perform many duties, however there are many duties that a medical assistant cannot do as well. If a medical assistant performs out of their scope of duty it can lead up to termination, legal consequences, and even a loss of certification.
These include, but are not limited to, taking patient vitals manually and electronically (blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate, temperature, high and weight). I have experience in performing pregnancy tests, glucose tests, Strep tests, Flu tests as well as collecting and testing urine and feces. I have also had the practice of patient safety as well as safety for myself and my co-workers. I learned the importance of proper documentation and how it is crucial to a practice.
Part of my job description includes taking vitals, checking blood sugar levels of diabetic patients, performing electrocardiogram on the patients who complain of shortness of breath, care of incontinent, pre-op and post ops, how to care for patients in restrain, one to one and those in close observation; taking care of catheter, and blood drawing for tests.
My service-learning practicum takes place in the community setting at Connaught Elementary School in St. Catharines. At Connaught, I am doing a one-on-one mentorship with a grade eight student to help her with her transition into high school. I am at the school twice a week for a half hour; however this position requires a lot of pre planning outside of the school, in order to effectively help her with her transition. My tasks include preparing different activities for each time I go into placement. Our first few weeks consisted of preparing a resume for my student so that in 2-3 years when it comes time that she starts applying to part-time jobs she has a resume already put together, which she can add things and take things away from. Along with resume preparation, we have done a job interview role-play where I am the interviewer and she is the interviewee. In this time, we have had fun days where she would make popcorn, with two other students, and sell it to other classmates. My student has had a lot of problems with a bully, and she has an issue of being assertive to other people- meaning she finds it difficult to state her opinions and she easily gives in to other people. With that, I brought two jars from home and I turned them into “problem” and “solution” jars where we filled each up with a problem and a few solutions to that
