Rewrite your thesis statement from your Illustration final draft. Explain what you believe this sentence illustrates the reader should expect from your paper. What do you think your strongest example is from your paper, and why is it a good illustration supporting your thesis? What do you think is your weakest example from your paper, and how do you believe you could strengthen/change it to better support your thesis? For instance, provides the reader to imagine buying a six-hundred-dollar phone, and later realized that it was an explosive phone (3). A perfect example makes the reader aware that it is the first example in the paper, and that it is a personal example (2). I would give more examples of the different types of dangerous devices because I only described Samsung Galaxy devices. I would only give one Samsung example, and I would give an example about the iPhone. I did not capture the reader’s attention because I did not give a variety of examples. The three ways I edited my paper to improve it between the first draft and the final draft. First, I changed my paper from present tense to past tense. Next, I removed a sentence in paragraph four because it was similar to another sentence. Then I added transitions at the beginning of the

The hardest part about writing an essay has to be figuring out a way to demonstrate a broad concept in a more detailed and narrow way without being complete bias or just spewing out your thoughts. The process of developing and ransacking your mind for a thesis can be the most nauseating and tedious experience ever. Of course the time it takes to complete the task and how formal it has to be can vary. You need to think about the rhetorical situations; the purpose, the audience, and how you want to approach this assignment in general.

In his video on TED, Marc Goodman provides an examples of how technologies’ development can be extremely dangerous when it comes to crimes and terrorism. He states that we consistently underestimate what criminals and terrorists can do. Technology has made our world increasingly open, and for the most part, that's great, but all of this openness may have unintended consequences (Goodman, 2012). Mark Goodman gives an examples that “during the Mumbai siege, terrorists were so dependent on technology that several witnesses reported that as the terrorists were shooting hostages with one hand, they were checking their mobile phone messages in the very other hand” (Goodman, 2012). As a result, 300 people were gravely wounded and over 172 men, women and children lost their lives that day (Goodman, 2012). This is how harmful the technologies are.

Throughout the 21st and 22nd century, technology was an integral part of humanity’s functioning as a species. It had guided us, shaped us, and created pathways for us in life that would’ve otherwise ceased to exist. The newest innovations are touted as the “latest and greatest” but as we innovated, we also became increasingly interdependent; we intertwined our lives with our tech, and became more reliant on it in the process. When humanity had fully automated their lives, the very electronics that supported their day-to-day routines also posed a hidden risk. In the right possession it was a wonderful tool, but when it fell into the wrong hands it was easily manipulated into a deadly weapon.
However, this class has helped me refresh on how to make a thesis statement because eighth grade was a few years ago. An example of one of my thesis statements is “The use of technology and media has positively impacted the world because it has helped connect people together and with anything they could possibly want to know.” My teacher in eighth grade taught me that the introduction should briefly describe some of the points that I would cover in the following body paragraphs.

Technology has advanced over the years, causing our lifestyle to change drastically and head down a new path. With these advances in technology, the cell phone appeared and has evolved throughout time. The cell phone has become a necessity to many. All ages use this mobile device for either personal or business use. Higgins states that the amount of cell phones active has increased from “one billion in 2000 to 6 billion.” Although cell phones play an important role in the lives of many, the negative possibilities could cause destruction to our society.
