Santana
Introduction
"My heart is open to complement. Not to compete."-Santana (Cobo, 2004). They were just a group of young man, inspired by B. B. King to play music. With a guitarist that could blow people away with his new kind of rock and roll. Santana helped impact rock and roll with a new kind of rock, also earning nine Grammy awards and other awards, and getting a place in the Rock and Roll hall of fame, making them unique from most bands in the 20th century.
Childhood
Santana had a lot of things that happened during his childhood that made him who he is today. Carlos started on the violin, because his father was a mariachi violinist, and he educated Carlos on music (Morrison, 2006). As a young kid, Carlos was around

Santana got the "Billboard Century Award" (Cobo, 2004). Santana won a good amount of awards. Like He was voted for 42nd annual Grammy Award for 10 nominations (Mitchell, 2000). For being a Grammy winner and a great band Santana was ready for their new step, touring. Santana started touring all around the world (Morrison,2006). Santana also got into the Rock and Roll Hame of Fame (Wallenfeldt, 2013). Going along with his awards he also got an award or best instrumental performance (Mitchell, 2000). After all the awards and accomplishments they got the one they still want that is not complete yet. Santana wants to perform in Tijuana for free (Mitchell, 2000). Santana had a very slow start to the music career with a few ups and downs. They made rock and roll music that appealed to most ages. With a picture of Santana on the wall. They made a path for another generation that have a Latin background, or ones that try to mix rock and roll with another type of music. Santana with always be remembered for being one of the greats. All of his contributions have lasted almost thirty years because Jimi Hendrix was a major force in music then, and was so powerful, that they have all continued to influence and inspire people.
Jose Santana was a professional mariachi violinist and insisted Carlos learn to play the violin at the age of five, but Carlos did not like the feel, smell, or sound of the violin (Heath). Jose moved the family to Tijuana in 1955 and there Carlos picked-up the guitar and began to play at the age of eight where. He would play Mexican folk songs in the streets charging fifty cents and work with his father’s band in the sleazy part of town. When he was fourteen he secured a job playing in strip clubs on Revolution Street in Tijuana and there he learned to play American rock and roll and blues music such as B.B. King, Ray Charles, and Little Richard (Biography). In the early 60’s Carlos and his family moved to San Francisco and there he was able to see performers such as B.B. King perform live.
Rock would not have be such a great genre without the hard work of so many great bands such as AC-DC, Metallica, Guns and Roses, Nirvana, and so many more. Those bands would not have been great without great members more importantly the guitarists. The guitar has been a big staple

Rock N Roll has it all, yet to understand it deeply we must understand the fathers. Chuck Berry plunged his guitar into his amp and turned the hairs of his audience electric. Elvis Presley, the heartthrob of the south would give Rock N Roll its image for the next decade while America started to find out who it was and what their bleak future had in store for them.
Rock and Roll has made a big impact on the world, especially during the beginning of this era. This type of genre is one of the most influential music’s. This music is the genre that brought people together, but also made people think. Rock and Roll brought out a type of persona and a feel, in which people received when this genre was the new “big” thing. There were a few bands, such as the Beatles and The Rolling Stones that brought the true feel and meaning of Rock and Roll. The Beatles were one of the most influential bands that brought the great unanimous sound and look of this turning stone era – Rock and Roll.
Jimi Hendrix is considered a key influence in music of the 20th century. The American rock songwriter, singer, and guitarist was born and brought up in Seattle where he began to practice and eventually hone his talents at playing the guitar (Erlewine). While being a self-trained guitarist, Hendrix is also acknowledged today as an intellectual with marvelous musical abilities. He is renowned for his speed, ambition, and precision while playing, ability to apply intricate melodic elements as well as his ability to play, sing, and dance at the same time. As a guitarist and rock ‘n’ roll singer, Jimi Hendrix won numerous awards for his major contributions and applications to rock music during his time.
Fleetwood Mac was one of the seismic bands in the world. They had a album called Rumors it was on the charts for more than two years and one of the best selling albums ever (“Fleetwood Mac,” 2006). Fleetwood Mac had a lot of awards they had a total of eleven awards. They got to be in the tour of Hall of Fame. They also got awards for showco, mountain productions, trait towers, nocturne, ect (Mchugh, 1998).
