Write a paragraph reflecting on what we have done in science to date. So far in science, we have done the cups activity, the pink string activity, we took measurements with our group, and saving sammy. The cups activity is where we had string around a rubber band and each person pulled one string to stretch out. We then wrap the rubber band around cups and build a cup tower WITHOUT touching the rubber band or cups. The pink string activity is where you and a partner each have a pink string around your wrists and they are locked together but you can't take the string off your wrists to get out, you have to try to untangle them. We took measurements on many things including arm lengths, height, wingspan/armspan, and foot lengths. Saving Sammy
What would you have done if you were stranded on a raft with two other men for 44 days with provisions to last less than 3 days? This is one of the easiest things Louie Zamperini had to endure in “Unbroken”, by Laura Hillenbrand. The most important thing to be learned from the life of Louis Zamperini is to never crack under pressure, because of his survival on a raft, how he withstood the cruelty of the bird, and how he survived through the torture of Japanese POW camps.
People were mistreated during WWII and were tortured in POW camps. Louie Zamperini, a character and a real person from the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, was in the army during WWII and had to go through the torture of being a prisoner at a camp in Japan. In the book Unbroken, Louie was going to be a famous Olympic runner until the Olympics were cut short when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and caused World War II to start. Louie drafted in the air force and crashed on a mission; he had to live on a raft for 47 days without any food or water. He was washed ashore on a Japanese island and became a prisoner of war. He then had to go through many painful experiences until the war ended September 2nd, 1945. Internees also had to go through harsh times during the war. Both POWs
I read the sad news of losing Rocky, your precious boy. How very difficult this must be for you and my heart breaks. May heaven help soothe your broken heart and may you know that Rocky was brought home by your beautiful Angel. He is in very good hands and want you to be happy because you are a very special lady with a beautiful
Define various directional terms (i.e. superior, inferior, etc.), and compare different body parts using these terms (i.e. the elbow is proximal to the wrist).
What do "saving face" and "giving face" mean in the the context of cross-cultural differences." When saving face or giving face there are different levels of importance, depending on the culture you are dealing with". " Face is a multi-faceted term, it is linked to culture, honor and there opposite humiliation".(This is according to the reporting in Ting-Toomey, Stella, A Face Negotiation Perspective Communicating for Peace. Sage, 1990) Saving face tends to be the more well known, probably because it conserns your self. Many people believe saving face is only about maners, but in some societies like Japan its about honor. . In many asian cultureas "Face" or "saving face" is to not only respect others but to respect yourself. You should always
In this experiment the SI and English standard measurement systems were used to learn how to convert one unit of measurement to another through the use of measurement instrumentation. A centimeter ruler was used to measure both inanimate objects such as a lab table, and a window as well as body measurements on multiple people within the group. The measurements were used in finding the perimeter, area and volume of each of the objects. This experiment taught how to express scientific figures for data and results. As multiple measurements were taken precision and accuracy became greater. This data was used to determine ratios and percent errors.
Then, using the tape measure, the length of the leg was measured from the hip to the heel of the foot. The length of the leg was then recorded. The participant raised their hand and the vertical leap test equipment was adjusted accordingly. The participant then jumped and hit the measuring component of the vertical jump equipment (see diagram 2) and the height reached was recorded. This process was then repeated a further three times for each participant.
As we protect the planet where we live on are turning into worse day by day and to top it off we complain about the world's changes.Honestly, how much do we make an effort to protect the world? Or Don't we still know how to do it? Doesn't it the best thing that learn how to save the wold? Learning the steps about protect the earth will be change ecology in possitive
To sacrifice is to give up something important for something even better, which may cause pain; but, in the end, it will be totally worth it. I have witnessed my own friends performing such a damaging act that hurt me as individual, mentally, and has made me begin to struggle in daily activities. I have allowed myself to become stressed out, ignore the healthier relationships in my life, and have noticed a great decrease in my self-esteem. However, I have learned that these problems were or can be created due to the reaction and response I express. This reaction has both hurt me and helped me build as an individual. Some people respond by getting revenge on the other person, which ends up making him or her just as disrespectful as the other; while I have realized it is better to forgive rather than hold a grudge. I also have realized forgiving someone makes me appear more respectable, and it ultimately places me in a higher place than the individual I am dealing with; forgiveness may be a painful thing to go through, but in the long run, I have benefited from it in numerous ways.
The Temperate (Deciduous) Forest is home and Habitat for man things. For example; A red fox lives in a Den in the temperate forest, and she raises her pups in the den; so, now we're saying people have came and starting making homes, buildings, restaurants, and croplands. But have we ever thought about the animals we might be killing? Or the habitats we are destroying? Nope. And honestly. I think its shameful don't you? We might be destroying poor, defenseless animals homes without hesitation. I think it is time to stop. Why don't we actually think about our actions before we do it right? So we could save a habitat or 2.
My 15-year-old is helpful in the “I love my mom and baby sister but, the world revolves around me” kind of way. Her social life trumps all right now. My high school years did not last long since I dropped out of school at 15-years- old, started working, and lived with my boyfriend. The whole world revolved around me too. I got my GED at 18 and decided to give college a try at 31 years of age. It has been an off and on journey for me due to my dedication given to my work. I stopped going to college about 5 years ago because I was training for store management and making good money. After my daughter Clara was born I need to stay home and care for her because she had multiple heart defects. She has had surgery and is doing really well right
Science has fascinated me from when I was just beginning to learn about and process the world around me. I have early memories of doing chores with my mother and having her talk to me about botany or anatomy. Of course, it was simply the basics, but nonetheless, I was always asking “why” or “how.” In 2011, my elementary school took part in a National Science League competition, and I won first place in my grade. The pride I felt when I was called up was incomparable to any other previous achievements. As I stood in front of my school, a small fourth grader with her first medal around her neck, I realized that I wanted to keep feeling this, and the only way I could do that was if I kept pursuing science. The following year, I heard about the Illinois Mathematics and Science
Relationships are always evolving whether you are gay, straight or in a plural marriage which is not always easy, and for some people divorce is more painful than being alone. There are many reasons why people decide to divorce; often it is a matter of not connecting. Once a decision has been reached, however, divorce typically go through five stages; denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Often the decision to separate is the easiest part of the process. Approximately half of all American youth will experience parental divorce at some point during their childhood (Lansford, 2009). Not only does divorce affect couples, families, but also children.
My SE1 targets include: To develop assessment techniques, to develop curriculum knowledge and to develop the ability to meet the needs of all pupils through differentiation (appendix 1). The two lessons which are going to be evaluated within this discussion includes a science appraised
We all want to save money and often times go the extra mile to do so, but is there a such thing as too frugal ?
