In Japanese elementary schools, the pupils are encouraged by their teacher and school administration to clean their school by themselves, one of the teacher says, “ All this helps to build their self confidence so it is a practice we like to carry on.” (AJ+ 1:00) They are not indifferent to do chores but they are usually satisfied when their classroom is clean. The children and the teenagers spend most of their time at school. Also, the students study not only the academic subjects, but also learn how to be a virtuous person. By cleaning own classroom and assisting to a school workers, a pupil can learn step by step what working is like. Doing so, the students will obtain the good habits to value the things that are not even relevant to them. They would understand to appreciate the work is by the school employees. Consequently, they will be independent in their future lives and will have gathered sufficient teamwork skill. The parents and other people criticise that doing the chores at school would give the tension to students besides studying and the labour for the pupil is burdensome. Others could say that children should not spend their childhood by working and their job is to study at school. Even though critics could be right, the school labour will make the students mature. By the beginning of the second Millennium, many countries realized the need and necessity to cope up with the rest of the rapidly developing world. As they realized this necessity, they also realized that the key to growth and development is, indeed, education. As a result, many countries around the world entered the heated race of reforming their education systems hoping that this would ensure them a foothold in the modern world.
Over the last 25 years many policies have been introduced in education. Some critic’s say that an education market has been created but others disagree and say that the policies have helped create equality of opportunity.

The current worldview toward education in American culture has seemingly bottlenecked as to the understanding and significance concerning being educated. The vast majority of citizens believe education is solely based on the level or degrees achieved; however, this mentality is capable of hampering employers from reaching their full potential in many different professions. In my opinion the populace in America would find a consensus that education is an essential component in achieving a comfortable life. Education is seen as the gateway to economic well being, making the quality of the education provided a more important issue in need of attention in both developed and developing countries. Economic growth and poverty reduction cannot prevail without an educated and skilled workforce. In developing countries, one additional year of education adds approximately 10 percent to a person’s earnings (A Global Impact on Learning 2011). Thus it is imperative that developing countries invest in the education of its people so that its entire country can prosper.

Academy Award-winning actor Edward James Olmos once said, “Education is the vaccine for violence” (Rock, 2010, 61).
