September 11, 2001 and the Twin Towers

September 11, 2011, started like every normal day in New York City. People rushing to work, children going to school, and people taking a morning walk or jog. But no one knew that this day would turn into a horror film. A terrorist organization call al-Qaeda hijacked airplanes and hammered them into the World Trade Centers North and South Tower along with the Pentagon in Washington D.C. It was a normal day in New York City, with business workers rushing into the World Trade Center. They thought it was going to be like any other day in the office but they were wrong. These office workers were in for the biggest surprise of their life. Planes flown by hijackers crashed into both the Twin Towers, and the Pentagon was hit by a plane as well. Now there is a memorial in New York where the bases of the towers were honoring the people who died that day.

The Hijacking of four planes and those were American Airlines flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, and United Airlines Flight 93. Two hit the World Trade Center 1 and 2. One other plane hit the Pentagon

On the morning of September 11 2001, terrorists hijacked four planes from American Airlines and United Airlines with the goal of ruining the U.S economy. Two of the planes achieved their goal and targeted both towers of the World Trade Center along with the Pentagon, resulting in the death of approximately 2,975 people. The events that took place on this day had a great impact not only in America, but around the world as well. After this day there were major changes in air travel, new government regulations, and a financial crisis.

The attack on the World Trade Center took place on September 11, 2001, and is formally known as 9/11. The World Trade Center was not the only structure affected by the attack. The Pentagon was also affected. This event devastated a great deal of Americans.

Just when New York's future seemed uncertain the Twin Towers came to the rescue. The buildings were huge the North tower was 1,368 feet tall and the South was 1,362 feet tall. In nice weather you can see 45 miles out. They both weighed 250,000 ton and had 99 elevators! The buildings had 21,800 windows and enough concrete to build a sidewalk from New York City to Washington. The tragic day all started when terrorists hijacked four planes and aimed them for buildings. They first aimed two planes at the Twin Towers. Then they aimed one at the Pentagon. The attacks on September 11th, 2001 were a series of four terrorist attacks using planes around the Washington D.C. area by the Islamic terrorist group known as al-Qaeda. The attacks were used to target symbolic U.S. landmarks. With 2,996 recorded deaths, it changed the face of national security forever. On September 11th, 2001 there was an attack on the World’s Trade Center. Supposedly, nineteen hijackers were put up to a suicide mission leading into the United States. Two of the hijacked planes were flown into the World’s Trade Center in New York City. The third plane hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C. And lastly, the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Although, the fourth plane was originally suppose to be a target somewhere else, the crew and passengers had fought against the hijackers causing it to land in the field. Fifteen years later

On September 9/11/2001 the twin towers were attacked by icest they hijacked a plane with people on the plane and the attacked the twin tower and then it started to fall down on people and they started to run away from the towers and 3,000 people died the and started to cry and lost families. Then a airplane crashed by the pentagon and the cia went to go check it out and it was a icest in the plane and they took him to a jail cell and they investigated him for a very long time and then they killed him. Then we attacked them and that a war and we won the war it took a long time for the war to end and we won the battle and is what they deserved for attacking the twin towers and they thought of something else so they put spotlights to reception

On September 11th, 2001, The United States of America and the rest of the world stared and watched as the first and then second tower of the World Trade Center in New York came under attack by terrorists. At 8:46 am, American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower. At 9:03 am, the South Tower was struck by another airliner. The September 11 attacks are the worst terrorist attacks ever committed on U.S. soil. On September 11 there were four passenger planes that were hijacked by terrorist. The first plane to be hijacked that morning was American airlines flight 11. This passenger plane was crashed into the north tower of the world trade center. About fifteen minutes later a second plane appeared in the skies it was united airlines flight 175 and it crashed into the south tower of the world trade center. Forty five minutes later the third hijacked flight American airlines flight 77 was crashed into the pentagon. The fourth and last hijacked plane was united airlines flight 98 this plane was crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after the passengers tried to stop the terrorist.

On September 2011 there was a horrifying terrorist attack in Manhattan. Two planes crashed into the twin towers one after the other. The first plane hit higher creating a large hole in the building and burning upwards. Then shortly after the second plane hit lower and at a faster speed leaving an even larger hole in the second building then it started to burn upwards from the point of impact. The fires in the buildings went out about an half an hour after they were hit.(Is what the officials say about 9/11)

September 11, 2001, millions of New Yorkers and American citizens woke up and started their day, unprepared and unaware for the catastrophic attack that would be taking place in just a few short hours. At 8:46 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower. The impact killed all of the passengers and crew as well as hundreds inside the building. At 9:03 a.m., a second plane, Flight 175, crashed into the corner of the South Tower killing passenger, crew, and workers who worked on floors seventy-five to eighty-three. Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. killing approximately 185 individuals (History.com Staff). Because of the damaged to the support system, fires, and impact at extremely fast speed, the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. (Lipton and Glanz). Having heard about the acts of terrorism that had just taken place in New York and Washington, D.C., a group of passengers drove their plane, Flight 93, into a Pennsylvania field killing everyone on board but possibly saving hundreds of other lives in the process. The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m. 102 minutes after being struck (History.com Staff). On September 11, 2001, almost twelve hundred people were wounded or killed by “coordinated suicide attempts” by Al Qaeda terrorists. In result to the four airplanes being hijacked and used for premediated reasons, the United States government instituted new regulations for entering the country and airport security as well as expounded on systems already in place.

The attack on the Twin Towers in New York City on September 11th, 2001 is one of the most, if not the most well-known terrorist attack to happen on United States soil. The September 11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda on the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The attacks killed
