Severe Miscommunication

Communication is primarily an exchange of information, ideas, or thoughts. This paper will focus on the process of verbal and nonverbal communication as well as the components of each. It outline the formal and informal channels of criminal channels. This paper will also list the different barriers to effective communication within a criminal justice organization. Finally it will cover strategies that can be implemented to overcome communication barriers within criminal justice organizations.

Get help, shout for assistance, call a first aider. If you have been trained in emergency first aid, what is needed and your action will depend on the result of the primary survey. Call emergency services if required, don’t call emergency services without basic information about the condition of the casualty. Get some support for yourself as you may go into shock or be stressed afterwards. Report and record what has happened as soon as possible before you forget the details.

Many people would probably say that if they saw an injured person, they would stop to help them. When put in the situation, however, would they actually stop? The United States of America does not require that pedestrians, who are not involved, help the ones who are. This is no excuse not to help, though. Even helping in just a small way could save a life.

When you saw a woman or man collapsed on street, what will you do? As a person who has had the experience, Dana said what she experienced. She was collapsed on upstairs above a shop one day, and she tried her best to move the body to the street in order to let people find her, because she needed to go hospital on time and she couldn’t do it herself. At that time, she felt dying and was longing for the arrival of ambulance. When she reached the street, she found that even many people found her, but no one came to help. People just walked on their way and pretended to not find Dana. Although finally a good person came out and helped Dana, Dana felt very sorrowful to the most people who walked on by.

In the world, it is so easy to walk past an individual that is in distress without even knowing that there is something wrong. People notice something and expect the individual in front of or behind them to assist the distressed, and it happens more than often. For example, driving past an individual that is stranded on the side of the road is so simple. It is much easier to drive past than assist, especially when driving on a city street. Many people think about helping, and want to help, but they just do not.

The article “Fixing the Communication Failure” by Dan Kahan, explains cultural cognition, and its role in effecting the discussion of issues. Cultural cognition refers to the individuals to conform an idea and argument based on their culture and their surrounding environment. Therefore, people views new scientific data in a biased way because of their concluded mine. Kahan defines people point of views into four groups, individualism, hierarchism, egalitarianism, and communitarianism. People from these four groups has their ideas and values, which create a polarize situation between the public.
