The real reason Shakespeare was Shakespeare
“Like alien autopsies and the second gunman, the belief that someone other than a glover's son from Stratford wrote William Shakespeare's plays is a conspiracy theory that refuses to die” said Jumana Farouky in The Mystery of Shakespeare's identity article. There are a lot of conspiracy theories but one that many people are familiar with is the theory that William Shakespeare may or may not have written or created his plays. Many people hold on to the belief that Shakespeare wrote all his plays, and others think that someone other than Shakespeare wrote them and that William Shakespeare was never even a person. If that is true then who came up with the brilliant plays and poems that were created? When you think about the Shakespeare conspiracy theory and if it is real or not do you think about how...how could all of his even happened without the person William Shakespeare being real in the first place.

When you really think about if there was a different signature or not ask yourself this, do you write your signature the same exact way every time? “Source from William Shakespeare's lifetime spell his name in more than eighty different way ranging from (Shaxbera) to (Shappere)” said History's staff when writing an article about William Shakespeare himself. If he went by many last names then why is it unusual to have many different signatures. Everyone can go by a different name or have a different signature, so why couldn't William
Many people believe that Shakespeare wrote his own plays and many people do not. The author of article Read claims, "Some of Shakespeare's plays took place outside of London but Shakespeare never traveled outside of London. Shakespeare only had a few legal documents with his handwriting and his plays were written by a different hand. Also people say that the plays was wrote by a scholar and there is no proof that Shakespeare ever attended school" (Fraser). People who do not believe it was Shakespeare who wrote the plays think it was Sir Francis Bacon, Christopher Marlowe, or Edward de Vere. So the real question is: did Shakespeare really write his own plays or did someone else? It is Edward de Vere that wrote Shakespeare.
Throughout the last century, a raging phenomenon known as the “Authorship Debate”, has come to light. It disputes whether Shakespeare himself wrote the plays and sonnets or if it was someone else writing under a pseudonym. There are countless theories of who the writer might actually be but the main suspects are Shakespeare himself, Edward de Vere, Sir Francis Bacon, Christopher Marlowe, William Stanley, Roger Manners, Sir Walter Raleigh and Mary Sidney Herbert (Pressley).
There are a variety of theories that suggest that Sir Francis Bacon was, in fact, William Shakespeare. Supporters of these claims refer to Shakespeare’s writing style, lack of education, and reportedly hidden messages within his texts as some of the evidence that indicates that Bacon was the real author of the many plays and poems attributed to Shakespeare. These assertions do not conclusively substantiate the Bacon theory and only attempt to discredit the real William Shakespeare. Therefore, Sir Francis Bacon did not write as William Shakespeare.
In 1564, a man was born by the name of William Shakespeare. He was born to a poor family, was given little education, and had no interaction with sophisticated society. Thirty-eight plays and over 150 sonnets are not attributed to this ignorant man. Those who believe that Shakespeare was the author have no definitive proof but instead point to Hamlet’s declaration: "The play’s the thing(Satchell 71)." The true author, however, lies hidden behind he name of Shakespeare. Edward de Vere the premier Earl of Oxford is not only considered a great poet in history, but he may also be the great playwright who concocted the sonnets and plays which are now attributed to William Shakespeare of Stratford, England.
One of the most argued cases in history is whether or not William Shakespeare was the one to write his own plays, or if he had someone else write them for him. There are numerous amounts of arguments agreeing that Shakespeare wrote his plays, and then there are numerous amounts disagreeing with his penmanship of “his” plays. According to some sources, Shakespeare was an impractical choice to write such famous works of art due to his lack of traveling, and his lack of education (Hechinge). These theories come into play when explaining that Shakespeare was, indeed, a fraud.
The large body of work attributed to William Shakespeare shows education, experience, creativity, and wisdom far beyond what many people are willing to accept came from a single author. Due to the scarcity of facts surrounding Shakespeare’s life, speculation arouse about whether or not he actually wrote his works became more common. In the mid-1800s ideas about other authors were brought forward. However, these theories have little sustenance, and it is likely that the entire body of work attributed to Shakespeare in fact belonged to Shakespeare himself.
In William Shakespeare 's play 1 Henry IV, deception is a recurring theme. Main characters King Henry IV, Hotspur and Prince Hal deceived people to benefit themselves. Were these characters deceiving their subordinates to gain power or were their choices and actions political strategy geared toward gaining honor and maintaining the well-being of the nation? All three main characters deceive people to gain power which can be seen as an act of malice and disloyalty but also as a political strategy. King Henry deceives King Richard II into believing that he is on his side while he is secretly planning a rebellion, Hotspur does the same to King Henry by deceiving him into thinking that he is on his side while also secretly planning a rebellion and Prince Hal deceives the kingdom’s people into thinking he is this wild child so they will be more impressed with him when he becomes the mature prince and adequate potential leader he was expected to be all along. All of this deception brings up the question, do the characters use deception purely for their own benefit or for the benefit of the greater good? Shakespeare 's use of deception for power shows these three characters true intentions, for King Henry IV deception is used to gain power to benefit the kingdom while on the other hand, for Hotspur deception is used to gain power for his own benefit and the benefit of his family while in Prince Hal’s complicated case, deception is used both for his own benefit and ultimately the
Abstract: The debate over the legitimacy of the authorship of Shakespearean works has been disputed for centuries. While many scholars have held beliefs that Shakespeare's works have been written by figures such as Christopher Marlowe, Francis Bacon, William Stanley, and others, the most heated debate today is between William Shakespeare and Edward DeVere, the Earl of Oxford. Each side of this debate has many followers, the Stratfordians, or those who claim Shakespeare to be the true author, and the Oxfordians who believe that true credit should go to DeVere. My paper, far from being a complete analysis of the possibilities of Shakespearean authorship, attempts to summarize and rationalize the
William Shakespeare, the renowned poet credited with writing 37 plays and 154 sonnets symbolizes brilliance in literature. The playwright's legendary plots and characters along with his portrayal of love proves him to be one of the greatest poet of all time. Despite the authors profound successes, the authenticity of Shakespeare's writing is a mysterious conspiracy. A missing paper trail, similarities found in works of Shakespeare’s and his contemporaries, and an unsettling exhibit question the Bard’s credibility. There remains an ongoing debate between Shakespeare’s devoted admirers and anti-Stratfordians, who unambiguously believe Shakespeare is a fraud due to lack of documentation, similarities between Shakespeare’s works and his enemies,
The Shakespeare Authorship Question has been around for many years. There is a lot of suspected author components in who actually wrote the works but, a few debaters have tried to prove that Shakespeare was the original author therefore, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The Shakespeare Authorship Conspiracy can be argued that William is not the correct author based on evidence that no documents reveal any qualities of education from Shakespeare; nobody had any type of dramatic reaction to his death in 1616, and Shakespeare’s disputed will mentions nothing specific or anything noteworthy. Few facts and records are known about William and his life. There is no evidence that he had the correct skills to hold such an impacted title.
The Shakespeare conspiracy is pertaining to the fact that Shakespeare did not write his famous poems, plays and sonnets; claiming he simply used someone else's work and labeled it in his own name. Theorists state that the plays contained too much knowledge of foreign and distant places and too much familiarity with court life and the affairs of court. They stated that Shakespeare was someone so far down in the social class that he couldn’t have acquired this knowledge. The various works of Shakespeare contain information showing the amount of familiarity the author has with such modernized sports including tennis and bowling. Theorists also claim that the plays have too wide a range of style to have been written by someone without an advanced
To start from the beginning of the controversy, the earliest actual documentation of such findings began in 1785 by an oxford scholar named James Wilmot. It was here that when James came up “empty-handed” of any evidence of Shakespeare’s plays did he come to the conclusion that it had to have been someone else and that someone was Sir Francis Bacon. James however never reported anything and on his deathbed actually destroyed his writings, but not before telling a fellow scholar, James Corton Cowell, his findings. Cowell would leave and make a presentation to the Ipswich Philosophic Society, and so began the greatest mystery of whether William Shakespeare was a famous playwright or a fraud taking credit for the work of someone else.
Shakespeare was one of the most famous people known to literature. He made thirty-eight plays in his lifetime. Being as famous has he was, there was some controversy. Some controversy that a person may believe involving Shakespeare is the authorship conspiracy. Some people believe that there were other authors thats wrote parts of Shakespeare's plays. According to The Telegraph, Edward de Vere wrote poetry similar to Shakespeare's. Some believe that there is references from de Vere in some of the scripts written by Shakespeare. This theory was put forward in the film Anonymous. Another example of controversy that some people believe in is that there are similarities between Sir Francis Bacon and Shakespeare's plays. This theory that was put
How do we know that Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare? We know because the historical record tells us so, strongly and unequivocally. The historical evidence demonstrates that one and the same man, William Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon, was William Shakespeare the player, William Shakespeare the Globe-sharer, and William Shakespeare the author of the plays and poems that bear his name -- and no person of the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras ever doubted the attribution. No Elizabethan ever suggested that Shakespeare's plays and poems were written by someone else, or that Shakespeare the player was not Shakespeare the author, or that Shakespeare the Globe-sharer was not Shakespeare of Stratford. No contemporary of Shakespeare's ever suggested
any people believe and didn’t believe Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare. Living in an illiterate household, how could he wrote such strong and creative works that he did with the vocabulary used. There isn’t any documentation of any of his original works by him and there are many famous doubters saying he didn’t write his own works. With that being said I’m anti stratfordian , I don’t believe Shakespeare wrote his own work due to the lack of evidence.
