Taken from the African Shea tree for centuries, Shea butter is often used as a base ingredient in cosmetics. Shea Butter is recognized, as well, as an effective, natural healer for skin irritations such as insect bites, abrasions, and burns. History shows that Shea Butter used as a medicinal agent by the Egyptians thousands of years ago. It has superb moisturizing properties that bring soothing relief for pain and supports skin rejuvenation.

As an alternative to toxins often found in commercial hair and cosmetic products, Shea Butter is a better choice than propylene glycol, which as been found to cause internal organ damage in humans. propylene glycol is an ingredient in automobile antifreeze/coolant.

Another toxic ingredient in commercial hair and cosmetic products is SLS, (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), a known carcinogen that can seep through your pores and accumulation in internal organs, like propylene glycol. Alcohol causes hair and skin to dry out and become brittle.
