Gracia was coming to me, smiling and gloriously naked through the green meadow dotted with wildflowers. I was naked too and started to run towards her. But something trapped my ankle and when I looked down I saw a horrible snake coiled in my leg which made me fall backwards to the grown, while watching me with an evil look. Behind the huge reptile I saw the mouth of the atomic furnace, and I began to be drawn into it, away from Gracia. I shouted, and the snake said: “Come on, Mac, it's only a nightmare” I opened my eyes, and saw Harley smiling and shaking my ankle to wake me up. “The sun is already high, and I'll have to leave soon. If you still want me to take you to Frisco you should wake up … come on, brother!” “Huh?” I reacted. “Yes, yes, alright, I'm coming ...” …show more content…
“Gracia? Where is Gracia, Harley?” “She's already awake for quite a while. Easy, fellow, we won't steal her from you! Although more than one of my brothers would like to … I can tell you, believe me!” I stood up and followed Harley to the dining room, where Gracia was waiting for me to have breakfast together. She had changed clothes, looking gorgeous in a long dress with many flowers drawn. I asked her where had she found those
"Noooooo." He says sleepy from a pile of blankets and pillows, he picks up a pillow and hits her with it before sitting up. "Why, Ky. Why." He says glaring at his older sister.
I didn't stop screaming until whatever was climbing me hovered in front of my face. Again, a silvery-blue creature in the shape of a snake was poised in a striking position inches from my nose. Light began to pour through the shape like a disco ball. The snake thing drew back and I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for a strike in the face.
“I guess we will need a bed,” she commented “we can 't expect anything from her.” She mumbled under her breath.
Well of course her response was, “I had to have you boys here before I could go to sleep.” I
“Besides, yer sister, yer Seanmhair is also aware. Ask them if you don’t believe me.”
The author’s decision to personify the rattlesnake is also important to the establishment of sympathy for him. When first introduced, the snake is described by the pronoun “he”. The use of a pronoun indicates that the snake is not merely an animal. Instead, he has been given the title of a human, elevating his status and giving him the right to have a personality. His personality comes to life further on in the passage, as his actions are described. When the snake and the man first encounter each other, the snake is “lay[ing] rigid” though “much less coiled”. The rattlesnake is not anticipating to attack anyone and shows this by lying there without tensing up. In fact, he poses no real threat since he is not even in the position to attack.
“I just sent you texts with the pictures that I just took of her. The rangers are taking her to their HQ.”
“He is and he’s asleep. Don’t wake him.” I strain to keep my voice steady. My heart is thumping in my chest, heavy beats like a drum. To my surprise, they do not raise their voices. We continue talking in
“That’s not true. You have Skye. You have Kal. You have me,” Flich pleads, the little girl in his arms is still fast asleep.
You are walking home and you see a woman drowning, you go in the water and swim toward the endangered beauty, your eyes meeting as you work desperately to save your drowning Ophelia. You can't move, she looks at you with a simile. At the end, you are nothing but a lost soul. You are now being slowly digested by the Snake Woman. She is scary but I don't really care. She is no more them a pet snake to me. She use to work with me but that was a long time ago.
"Would you two like to wake up the boys? We have to go visit Grandma and Grandpa today." Lisa
“Go to sleep. You have school tomorrow. You don’t have to tell Daddy until you’re ready. Good night, Allison."
Macie slowly opens her eyes. Swollen and puffy from last night's events. It'd been a month since the day she said she'd take him back. And a day since she found out Vy has gotten drunk and made love to yet another girl. Last night was the night she told him she was leaving. He cried like she'd never seen. He begged like she'd never seen. He yelled like she'd never seen. He always said he rarely got mad. But when he smashed a hole in the drywall and put his fist two inches from her face, she knew he was psychotic.
Scuttling innocently through the twisting corridors I bore the same expression; head down, shoulders hunched, avoiding any eye contact - my desperate attempts to deter the despot for one day at least. Despite my efforts, there was no escape, as seemingly within the second of having that naively optimistic thought, a cruel, callous voice demanded I surrender my broach. Fear spiked, as it always did, but with it came something else, an alien emotion ... Looking back now, I see that it must have been the cumulative effect of months of torment that brought me to the realisation that at this point I had reached the nadir of my life. Deriding cackles pierced my ears and this time I recognised the emotion, fury. It burned through my veins, along with the memories of the past to form a feeling of overwhelming power. I met the daggers that would usually invoke terror, and calmly, I said “No.”
Few can match the headstrong persona Sheixona seems to possess. With the throne so close yet so far, the demonic princess developed a competitive nature; her sole focus being to one-up Thomas. However, it's a small wonder why she even bothers to put all the effort into it, Thomas practically hands it to her on a silver platter with his lazy ass. Whatever the reason, if it's her pride's doing or to paint a quality picture of herself, she plans on taking the powerful position. Regardless of her reasoning on why she wants the throne, few could deny she would be just short of perfect for the job. One cannot simply name just one of the many the qualities Sheixona has that proves her to be a more worthy ruler. Maybe it was the fact that she was more mature than her older brother, or maybe it was that she puts her full power and mind into anything she does. Whatever it was, it clearly showed she was better, at least in her own personal opinion it did.
