The year was 1993. It was cool, and dark out. I had been watching her; watching her every movement, for almost an hour. Time was ticking by, and soon it would be eleven o'clock: the town's curfew. I had attended church a little before, and I hadn't seen her there, which only confirmed my suspicions. Her red hair looks even more striking in the light of the moon. She threw her head back, laughing at something that her friend had said, and I frowned. Didn't anyone else suspect that she was different?
The leaves beneath my boots crunched, as I made my way closer to her, ducking behind cars and behind the walls of every building I passed. I wasn't sure where she was headed, but I was positive it would give me more answers. A voice in the back

The crisp October air forced her to rub her hands together, trying to keep warm. Her thick dress and pullover offered her minimal protection against the cold that worsened as the night went on.
"Thank goodness I am almost home," she mumbled to no one in particular. Sir Midnight had dropped Lady Scarlett off a few streets down from her home. Lady Scarlett was afraid her parents would find out that she had been sneaking around with a man, and not courting him like the proper lady she was expected to be. She kept a fast pace, skipping over rocks, while ignoring the constant feeling that someone was following her. In that split second, a chill creeped up her bones and she froze. Someone was behind her. She could feel the heat radiating from the body standing behind her. A panicked breath escaped from her throat and she slowly turned around. The man had to have been six feet tall. His tall frame was towering over hers. A smile forced its way onto the man's lips as he attacked Lady Scarlett with the back of his knife, right against her temple. Her vision went blurry and soon faded to black; the last thing she saw was the glow from the street light.
At last, I finally have her. I can show everyone that she was different. I knew she was a threat to our town as soon as she moved in. Her limp and frail body lies on the cold ground of my home, while I examined her features more
She absorbed her surroundings as she watched the trees rush by. She saw a large buck grazing on a patch of grass and giggled at the tiny chipmunks that seemed to be everywhere. She’d even saw a bear and thought it a little unusual for this time of year, but it was not uncommon. She pumped her legs and extended her stride. Her lungs expanded as they filled with air, her breath quickened as she waited for her second wind.
Mary left work and thought about what Andrea said. What if she did live with someone else? Would they stop her from going out at night? These thoughts followed her to the bus stop and until she got on the bus. Mary noticed that the same man eavesdropping on her conversation earlier was still there, he stared at her while she sat
I looked around. "Yeah, maybe." She threw out her cigarette and nodded to me before walking back into her room. I stood outside, just watching room five. *What the hell could be in there?* I leaned against the door, put my ear to it and I listened. It was silent for a short while, but I heard a muffled knock come from inside. I continued to listen. Another knock. Then another knock. And then, complete silence. I kept my ear at the door, just listening, waiting. Another knock, but this time, it was against the door. I jumped back, shocked by what had just happened. I knew there was somebody or something in there and the fact that I didn't know who or what it was, had me completely horrified. I just wanted to get far away from that motel.
There was no response from the inside. She pulled her merm jacket around her, to protect herself from the December cold. The aroma of beef patties emerged from a nearby Caribbean restaurant.
Gunshot. Fire. A blunt noise once the girl stumbled to the ground, red thick blood coming out of her neck at a quick pace, the smell of it coming like a storm towards Mildred’s nose. Iron, salt and the warmth of a recent alive body. The man stood with a gun pointing towards her, passive, like he had done nothing. His arm slowly returned to his side, the gun to his jacket. He turn left facing Mildred, in his face a big smile, but dark like he enjoyed death, enjoyed killing.
A sudden burst of worry coursed through the veins in her body at the thought of something happening to her Father. He’ll be fine, she reassured herself, and rested the tip of her forehead against the cool glass of the window. She felt a sensation of cold emitting from the window seep into her body, rippling down her spine as a shiver.
Following the sidewalk that traces the outer edge of the school parking lot, across the front lawn, I dragged myself along, pushed my way through the small bustling crowd. I spotted her, standing over the building,
You growled and lashed out at the boy who stood in front of you with a knife wielded in their hand. The person simply dodged and kicked in the back of your legs, making you fall back onto the muddy grass that you were training on.
With quite a lot of effort, she got out of her bed. The floor felt like ice, making goosebumps rise on her
The figure pulled his robe tighter around himself to keep the cold out. He quickened his pace down the winding pathway. On either side of him, rotten trees stretched out like gnarled hands. He shuddered.
Tossing away her blanket, and sliding her thin fingers though her hair to untie some of the knots that was forming while she was sleeping. Her small feet came into contact with the white floor, having her heat transfer on the ground, making her feet starts to freeze up.
Applause and cheers swept the room when his song was done. And as calm as he looked, a smile curved his lips long enough to reflect his appreciation to his audience. But deaf to their requests to sing again, his eyes caught the gentle shimmer of a tear running down the one lady he just sang to. Was it grief? Or was it the truth he weaved into that ballad? To these gathering crowds, this was just a song, a string of words they can recite to drive the boredom away. Just another tale to echo through the banquets or for a lover to praisehis love in an eccentric way. But only he know the truth of his words, as well as the woman who refused to turn away or break into tears, and instead carried herself with the might of the maiden he just
I remember you fired me because of my volatile tendencies, but you hired a pyromaniac to be Sawada-kun's tutor instead!"
The entire security detail paused for a moment as they slowly took in the contents of the message. They laughed nervously and glanced at each other before turning their attention back to what awaited them on the other side of the glass. No words could describe the feelings that passed through them as they gazed in awe at how far the humans had come. According to their standards, it wasn’t possible—what the humans had accomplished defied logic. They shouldn’t have been able to colonize other planets and construct space ships in such a small amount of time!
The train left with my dear Gabriela on, a beautiful smile on her face. I watched as long as I could see the train in the distance. Once I could no longer see it I petted Zippy's neck.
