Short Story: Fast Atack

It was 115 degrees; the platoon was walking through the middle of the desert each of them with 40 pounds of gear on and an M16A2 rifle. It was summer time in the country of Afghanistan and the temperature was rising. At this point I asked myself what the hell I am doing here and why did I join the United States Army? “Wake up, Soldier!” shouted a man. The boy awoke with a start, knocking his drum over in the process. He noticed people bustling about all around him while they pulled on boots and helmets.

It was until an average Tuesday that I actually saw dates and arrangements of the first President to come to Kotzebue, Alaska. I was in the Music Room passing the time by fooling the teacher that I am his new student. The Bell rang at 2:30 p.m. and I had to meet with my boss for my new internship at 3:00 p.m. Which gave me plenty of time to fool the overwhelmed teacher. He was so enthusiastic and gay, he sang loud, and encouraged everyone to smile. I could not fathom why he was in such a good mood. He handed me a sheet of paper that was title “Presidential Ceremony Agenda”. It was an agenda that was for the class for the next week. I asked more about it and to my surprise the President of the United States of America was coming to Kotzebue.

An entire day went by after the events of encountering the Sangrine Syndicate. Isaac sat outside on the fire escape with Epsilon, both drinking canned soda and soaking up the sun’s rays. Even though they had known each other for a short time, they managed to get along extremely well. Inside, Gerard, Malessica and Claire moved around the kitchen preparing breakfast for everyone. The United States Capitol was filled with millions of people gathered to watch the 58th orderly and peaceful transfer of power in our nation’s history from President Obama to his predecessor, Donald J. Trump. This transfer of power is called the presidential inauguration and is held every four years to mark the beginning of a new term for a president. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang, a prayer for the nation was recited, and President Donald Trump addressed the nation for the first time as their President of the United States of America.

The day of 9/11 began just like any other for Monica, a young mother and an ordinary American citizen. She got up and made her two young children and husband pancakes for breakfast. The day started with a routine training run for Jack Chavez and his squad members, who were all members of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit’s Apprehension Tactical Team, which was an elite group of officers trained in hunting the most dangerous criminals in New York City. The run was nothing new to most of the men, and then had run about two-thirds of the course, when they were suddenly interrupted and ordered to exit the pit and make their way to a briefing room. Upon arrival, Chavez and the team were immediately briefed of a developing situation happening near lower Manhattan. Groups of reportedly home-grown terrorists, armed with automatic weapons, were threatening key targets throughout New York, mostly places with a large civilian presence such as
