“I'm heading back to New Orleans from visiting my sister in Greenville,” I say lightening the mood a little. “She just had a baby with her husband so I went to go see my new niece.” “How old is she?” “She is two weeks old and has the chubbiest cheeks I have ever seen,” I say with a huge smile on my face. “Her hazel eyes are so huge and beautiful.” “She sounds amazing.” “Tell me about you. Who’s Henry?” The song we have been dancing to ended. “We might want to go sit down unless you want to keep dancing,” he said with a teasing smile. “Let’s go get a table,” I agree. I stare quizzically at them and notice that they are lanterns. But they’re under water, that’s impossible.Then all the lanterns go out on the boat. I back up terrified and almost slip down the stairs. I turn toward the way I came and start running back to find Will. “WILL!” I shout. In my haste I forget the deck is slippery and just as the boat tilts from a strong gust of wind I slip and fall over the edge. I quickly grab the railing as I fall and dangle there. All crew has to clean up after the party so instead of walking Opal back to her room I have to help. I stepped outside for a minute to watch Opal leave. It’s starting to smell like rain. “So how was your evening with Opal?” Henry asks from behind me. “What?” I say as we walk back inside. “She was the only one you talked to the whole night. Before she got here you were sad and mopey. When she came tonight you looked like a puppy seeing its owners for the first time in days.” “First of all I was not like that and second we had a great time. We talked about our families and friends. I got to know her and I like her so much more now.” “Well I hope you know you owe me a favor now for dancing with that girl when Opal came,” he said with a smart look on his face. “I’m guessing you already know which favor to ask of me.” I’m nervous because Henry’s mind can be strange at some points.
