One of the proudest moments of my life is graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in social work. I’m the first in my family to do so, and I am going to go further in my education by pursuing a Master’s degree in social work. The main reason why I am pursuing a Master’s degree is because it will give me more options than a Bachelor’s degree would ever give me. Additionally, it will give me the opportunity for job stability since most employment prospects is requiring a Master’s degree to get hired. My long term goal is to work in the VA hospital. Working at the VA hospital has many benefits and job stability. Getting employed at the VA hospital has been a goal of mine since I first started my social work courses. And a Master’s degree is the

In another story called Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams, Randy Pausch talks about how childhood dreams can come true and that it feels even better to help people accomplish their childhood dreams. “And as you get older, you may find that ‘enabling the dreams of others’ is even more fun” Now is it better to have short term or long term goals for a dream job, short term works better because of how long term goals seem to affect people.
“Keep your goals out of reach, but not out of sight.” –Anonymous. All goals in life should be challenging, or a dream you have. Never set the bar too low, to make it easy on yourself, nor set the bar to high, that makes you put yourself under some much stress so it makes it impossible to reach your goal at a healthy state in mater in your life. Gaining the Emergency Medical Services Scholarship would silence the suspension of personal wealth being the deciding factor in my success of studying medicine. This would be significant, as I want to believe my success in medicine depends most on to the degree in which I work to cultivate excellence in academics, community involvement and empathy.
A long-term personal goal that I have always had for myself is to graduate high school with my academic honors and technical honors diplomas, to get it I had to work my butt off. I had always studied for every test, made sure to at least receive a B or higher on any assignment. The hard work has paid off now because that is the path that I am on now to receiving a diploma. I had a lot of barriers though, like probation and family losses, but I made sure just to focus on me and know that life always goes on and I should
Soon, I will be going to feed the homeless. I and my family donate clothes and other things the less fortunate need. When we come across homeless people we give them money and food (if we have it). These types of donations will increase and also to charity once I become successful.

In my near future, I am leaning towards attending the University of Indianapolis mainly because of the strong DPT program they offer to their students. I have been accepted and have had the honor of being a direct admission into the DPT program offered at the University of Indianapolis. I found my career choice with my mixture of strong academic and athletic performances. I have plenty of first person accounts of rehabilitation to muscles and bones from sports injuries, and I have become curious about other types of injuries that a physical therapist would encounter outside of sports injuries. At the University of Indianapolis, I plan on majoring in Biology and excelling in all my courses, especially my prerequisites.
