Abortion
Abortion is one of the most controversial topics of all times. It has caused countless deaths and several violent confrontations between the two separate parties of opinion. The fight between pro-life and pro-choice supporters has been long and brutal. This is because, despite what several people may believe, abortion is neither right nor wrong. It is the matter of a personal opinion, where, each side can say with certainty that the other one is wrong.
The question remains, should abortion be legal? Though some may disagree on this point, the fact is that legalized abortion is the only way to protect the lives of women around the world. If you look into American history to see the results of prohibiting abortions to women, you will see that no abortion means more women dead. The violence, which occurs today because of the pro-choice/pro-life conflicts is minimal in comparison to the thousands of hopeless women who turned to illegal abortions--either self-inflicted or preformed by the backroom "professionals"-- which resulted in infection, massive blood loss, and death. It is now since the abortion is legal better for women, because they have a place to go to where abortions can be performed in a clean environment and with minimum risks. The legalization of abortion is the only choice, no matter what side one takes in the debate. Women will try to do what they think is necessary to live as they wish, no matter what the risks are. In order to live as
Imagine a world where women are not allowed to get tattoos, eat fast food, or even paint their nails. That is what the world would look like if the government were to restrict people 's everyday personal choices. Even though many people would think that having all of those things restricted has nothing to do with abortion, that is not the case. Abortion is a personal choice and therefore should have no limits placed on it when it comes to women over 16 because it takes away their rights that were set in the Constitution. The federal or state government should not have the power to dictate what a valid reason is for a woman to get an abortion no matter how horrific it may seem; however, they should have a legal age to get an abortion because children are not capable of making adult decisions on their own. Instead of restricting adults, the government should give women who want an abortion substantial information about the procedure so they can make a rational decision based on fact, not emotion.
In Gwendolyn Brooks’ poem “the Mother” the entire theme was based on abortion. A mother was not emotionally or mentally ready to have children, so she did what needed to be done; she aborted. This poem was written in 1945 and still today’s society still has objections on pro-choice. On January 22, 1973 the US Supreme Court ruled that abortion is a fundamental right that was guaranteed by the US Constitution. In short terms the ruling stated that a woman, with her doctor, could have the option to end her pregnancy. This ruling made abortion legal in the United States which seemed to be a relief for some and others a restraint. Abortion has been a controversial issue in the United States for years. There are one of two sides that can be chosen in this debate; pro-life or pro-choice. Those who believe in pro-life consider abortion as intentionally murdering a human being. In contrast to the advocates, you have the opponents, who believe abortion is not the same as murder that it is here to help not hinder a woman. Having an abortion is a huge decision to be made. The word abortion itself means to remove the fetus from the uterus before it is able to survive on its own. The question that still stirs up an audience still remains “should abortion be legal?”
While studying the debate on whether or not abortion should be illegal, you are approached by many different writers with interesting arguments, filled with their opinions and reasons for why abortion should or should not be allowed. Two essays that have caught my attention while reading about the debate of abortion are: “A Defense of Abortion” by Judith Jarvis Thomson, and “An Almost Absolute Value in History”, by John T. Noonan Jr. Thomson argues that abortion is permissible in cases where the mother’s life is at stake, where the sex was consensual but had faulty contraceptives, and lastly, in cases where the mother was raped. Noonan’s approach to abortion is that almost all cases of abortion are wrong, except if the pregnancy causes
Discussing abortion can be an extremely controversial topic, which brings out strong opinions on whether or not it should be illegal. “The U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion in the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973” (emedicinehealth). Abortion is a widely discussed topic throughout the American society, some people find it to be a good thing, and others find it to be a bad thing, and lastly some people find there to be pros and cons of abortion.
A topic that is still under much debate is whether or not women should have the right to an abortion. This is a constitutional right that all women must have in order for everyone to have true equal rights. The two sides of this debate argue whether or not the fetus is “alive,” whether abortion is ever necessary, and whether or not the procedure has negative consequences. While the “pro-life” side focuses mostly on the interpretation of the definition of life, “pro-choice” advocates stress the importance of women’s rights. A woman should always have control over her body without having to give a reason.
There should be a law that would prohibit pregnant woman from smoking tabaco products, due to the harm that the drugs have on the unborn children. Currently we do have some states with statues that touch on the subject of pregnant and smoking, but while the issue is getting bigger, we should be able to enforce more strict rules that would set a punishment on those harming the unborn children. There have been many studies made about the harm of tabaco products on human body proving that smoking slowly kills. In the response to the studies, we should be able to enforce strict rules that would help to eliminate the issue of smoking while pregnant because it leads to serious health related problems to those that have no chance of protecting themselves. Such issue might be hard to eliminate, but giving the legislation a start it would be a good beginning in the enforcement of that law. Some states already have started the debate which would determine if women should be held criminally liable for abusing drugs and other stimulates. The main argument for this law to be an important legislation to pass, is the fact that we see an increase in the children being born with drug addictions across the nation. To protect the mothers from loosing the newly born children, and to protect those who are born with health related problems we should create a law that would prohibit pregnant woman from smoking tabaco and using drugs and held the offenders criminally liable.
J.K. Rowling once said, “Killing is not nearly as easy as the innocent believe.” When thinking of someone’s life the outcomes do not come to mind until they are played out in the real world. Even though people cannot be present to claim their right they should always be taken in mind. When talking about abortion the fetus plays a big part since it’s what is lost and what is causing much pain and changes .Loss of rights, psychological damage, taxes , and adoption should be taken in mind when discussing rather abortion should be illegal.
Abortion has been an ongoing issue for many years and over the years this issue has grown in importance. This issue is widely argued over many subjects and like many other aspects of the human life, this is an issue which is definitely up for open interpretation. If the word abortion isn’t clear than here is a little definition of it, "the termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival." I don’t think that because a fetus is unborn, that fetus does not have any rights, actually that organism is in development meaning it should hold equal human rights, again it is definitely up for debate. Abortion is a subject which could be considered as a debatable gray area in life which no matter how much is argued will never be clear as to what really is right or wrong. There are many people out there, me included, would go against abortion because we believe that it is a form of murder because even though the organism is helpless is nonetheless a living organism forming to become a human being. There are those who would argue against this and say that it is ok to abort an unborn baby and that a woman has the right to choose what she does with her body and anything which grows and lives inside of her. If she claims that she is not fit to bring a life form into the world than they would argue that abortion is the best way to go without any hesitation. A few questions come up when this issue comes up for debate, for example is abortion
As more laws are formed concerning basic human rights, this nation is certainly progressing quicker than others, but not quick enough. Activists are constantly battling to secure protection, equality, and resources for every community. We know they’re succeeding as issues, such as gay marriage, are being addressed and are close to being secured. One topic that is continuously being debated, and slowly making progress, is women’s health; more specifically, abortion rights. Granted, abortion is legal in the United States since Roe vs Wade in 1973 however, the law is constantly being targeted by conservative politicians and states. Their strategy has changed throughout the years. Instead of aiming to illegalize abortion, they are focusing on strictly regulating eligibility. For a nation that prides itself on freedom, there are still those who strive to limit and regulate women’s choices. Gender equality will not be achieved if women cannot have full control of their own bodies. Organizations such as Planned Parenthood, not only provide crucial services to sustain a safe and healthy lifestyle, but also advocate on behalf of those who are incapable of doing so. Such organizations should be encouraged and supported, instead of condemned.
Abortion is legal until 24 weeks, woman choose to abort due to religion, rape, unwanted pregnancy s or carrying a disabled foetus. We live in a socialized world, and a large number of women are killed each day in the Uk due to back street abortions, REFERENCE trust the world is going to radically change throughout the following couple of years, there are approach to numerous premature births occurring on account of little care being utilized whilst having sex, woman underestimating it that they can simply have the capacity to get a foetus removal, within this report demonstrates that everybody has distinctive suppositions on abortions and each circumstance is distinctive.
The natural tendency of abortion is a very touchy subject that has been continually argued over by many people. The main controversy is should abortion be legalized? To answer this question we must first define abortion. Abortion is the destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mother’s womb (n.d.). This procedure can be done by clinics set up especially for this purpose. So many people are against abortion that you can drive by any clinic that offers this procedure and see numerous of people outside protesting abortion by showing pictures of dead babies. There are two sides to abortion Pro-Life vs Pro-Choice these two groups offer different solutions to the problem.
Imagine being a teenager in today’s society who got pregnant. What would you do? Telling your parents is not an option because you are terrified of their reaction and you do not want to put that stress on them. Keeping the baby will not work because you are not financially stable (you are still in high school) and your parents definitely will not support that decision. You are not even sure if you are pregnant, that is just what the CVS brand pregnancy test said. What is your next step? Abortion? Maybe you do not support abortions. Adoptions? Ideal, but you are not sure where to go for adoption referrals. What options do you have?
Imagine your life in the hands of a teenager. This is the case of many unborn children. In today 's society teens are allowed to have abortions with or without parental consent, even under the age of 18. Allowing abortions is overriding the basic human rights. Teens under the age of 18 shouldn 't be allowed to have an abortion because of the basic human rights of a fetus. Teens themselves don 't have certain rights so how are they allowed to have rights over someone else 's life. Teens under the age of 18 can 't get major surgeries without parental consent, yet an abortion is a major surgery. To every problem there is a solution. To overcome this problem a law that no teens under the age of 18 should not be able to get an abortion without parental consent should be enacted. This law can be made by Roe V. Wade enacting an age limit up to at least teens under the age of 18 require parental consent in order to have an abortion.
If you had an unexpected pregnancy, what would you do about it? For many people out there, abortion would be the most obvious option. The sad thing is there are many other solutions to an unwanted pregnancy besides killing the baby that most people will not consider. Each year there are more and more abortions happening and it is becoming a huge problem. One particular age group that it is very common in is teenagers who are in the church. Abortions in teen pregnancies is just one of the many problems in the world, and while many people would not condone these acts, there are some organizations like Heartbeat International that are fighting against it.
Abortion is a very hot topic that has been repeatedly contended over for the past few years. The argument is should abortion be legalized or not? First before we get into the many sides of abortion we must to know what is abortion. Abortion means ending a pregnancy before the fetus can live independently outside the world. If abortion happens unplanned before 24 weeks of pregnancy. It is called a miscarriage. Abortion is caused design to order to end the pregnancy (Brown, 2013). This can be complete by anyone from the mother this woman to backstreet abortions and even to abortions by hospitals set up particularly for this purpose. There are two sides to this abortion subject the PRO-LIFE which is those who are against abortion altogether and the PRO-CHOICE or those who believe it is the woman’s right to pick if she wants to have an abortion or don’t have to do it. Those two groups offer different answers to problem. The pro-life answer is to have the kid and essentially live with it. People believe that abortion is not an answer. Pro-choice solution is abortion because of reasons they feel are suitable.
