In this essay I will give 3 reasons why cannabis should be legalized in the USA. First, it can be used for medical reasons, for example, it can cure the Parkinson and other health problem during years of used the cannabis, second the economy will grow enormously in the USA, and the last reason is that legalizing cannabis is less harmful than Tabaco. USA should legalize the cannabis in all the states because it will be so great for those people that are really in a bad position of health they can cure them in a very easy way for them and not taking several pills a day. For example, doctors are saying that using cannabis for cancer would be less painful than doing the chemotherapy every time, especially for children it would be a lot better. For example, in my opinion, it will be easier if cannabis be legalized in all the states just for the fact that children don’t have to move from their country to another country that the cannabis legalize, they will stay …show more content…
Studies have been done that people of 18 to 30 years of age have lung problems due to the consumption of tobacco and by cannabis, it does not reach 5% of the population that has this problem. People say that using cannabis is worse than tobacco, but in studies, they say that using cannabis moderately may not have a bit of a risk like tobacco that can cause cancer and several other problems. In conclusion cannabis should be legalized because it would be used in a good way in medical use for people, also because it would greatly improve the economy of the country, would help to reduce the criminals to do, not continue selling cannabis to children and the best is That would help the country to open jobs for different people that are doing illegal jobs to support family know in the
The truths about marijuana are slowly starting to resurface, the government keeps ignoring that cannabis could one day be as powerful for the U.S. Unfortunately, these truths about marijuana are under a lot of criticism because of the stereotype of what people see as a "marijuana or cannabis smoker." There is a great difficulty in this law because marijuana is still recognized as a harmful and dangerous substance in some states. This can cause problems because each state has their different views and opinions on the matter, and have their own rules and how the rules apply towards it. The twenty-six states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form, but California, Massachusetts, and Nevada just passed the law for recreational use. The states that have medical marijuana and recreational legalization are Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Alaska. The states that only have medical marijuana legal are Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, Arizona, Hawaii (Ingraham). However, legalizing marijuana could have some benefits instead of being a drug with some bad reputations. Marijuana should be legalized because of medical reasons, safety reasons, and have some benefits to society.
To a large extent I agree with this statement; cannabis should be legalised. I do feel, that legalizing cannabis would help resolve many of our country’s problems and difficulties, for example street-crime or burglary indirectly related to drugs. However I also feel that it could cause other types of problems if people don’t understand the effects of it. To many people, they see cannabis as a dangerous and damaging drug, however the effects of cannabis are sometimes not as bad as alcohol or other legal drugs.
Thesis Statement: Marijuana should be fully legalized in the United States because it is significantly less harmful to human beings than cigarettes and alcohol, offers many health benefits, and its legalization could lead to a significant boost in government revenue if a tax was imposed on sales of the product.
Smoking tobacco is more harmful to your lungs than smoking marijuana. It only takes a couple inhalations of marijuana smoke to become high. Let’s say you’re addicted to cigarettes and smoke a pack a day, keeping in mind that cigarettes are legal. To get high off of marijuana it would only take about a fourth of the tobacco you inhale in just one cigarette, just to become high. When you smoke cigarettes you are continuously inhaling tar, nicotine, and many other chemicals that harm your lungs and may result in lung cancer.
A problem in the US today is smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes are made up of literally hundreds of very harsh chemicals that are inhaled into the lungs and can cause serious consequences down the road. Marijuana has been compared to cigarettes in some studies. The good part about marijuana is that it doesn’t affect the lungs in a bad way. Marijuana contains THC which acts like a sort of cough drop and opens the airway leading to your lungs. Cigarettes on the other hand or as I like to call them, (sick)arettes do the exact opposite by filling up your lungs with
Possession and use of cannabis, also commonly known as marijuana, is considered illegal. For years marijuana has been an illegal “drug” in most countries. In today’s world a few countries have legalized cannabis while others are still progressing toward it. In particular, small amount of marijuana have been allowed in places such as Europe, North America and South America. In the United States in particular, states such as Washington and Colorado have also legalized the usage of marijuana for medical/recreational purposes. On the other hand, numerous penalties are enforced pertaining the use or possession of cannabis where it is not legal. The chance of the penalties being small are seldom; offenders often receive severe punishments. Possession of small quantities of marijuana is not punished the same way as possession of large quantities of other illegal narcotics. In this essay, there will be an in-depth argument on the reasons why cannabis should be legalized, and why it should not.
Marijuana has a greater beneficial impact on society then many people realize. Marijuana should be legalized for medical as well as recreational purposes. This is a highly controversial issue that is being debated throughout the country. In essence marijuana is evaluated by the effectiveness of the drug. It is defined as the dried flowered clusters and leaves of a hemp plant smoked for the intoxicating effect. Whether it should be legalized or not is the real question.
Why should marijuana be legalized? Marijuana can be argued for different reasons. In my case I will be arguing the medical purposes for legalizing marijuana. Marijuana has positive features, and how people prefer using marijuana. Marijuana helps individuals get through a variety of things that they suffer. Marijuana provides relief from pain, rather than other medications out there. Many individuals prefer marijuana over anything else to relax. An argument on why people using marijuana spend more time in jail than actual criminals. So you can say the greatest risk of using marijuana is the risk of arrest. Marijuana should be legalized at the federal law for medical purposes.
Marijuana is the cause of much commotion and debating, as the question of legalization becomes more of an issue. Drugs are a major influential force in countries all over the world today. Legalization is an option that has not had a chance, but really should be given one. Although many people feel that legalizing marijuana would increase the amount of drug use, legalization would benefit for the following reasons: 1)reduction of money spent on law enforcement 2)increase in the countries revenue 3)lessen crime 4)useful in treating certain medical conditions.
The plant is believed to haveoriginated from the mountainous region of India. It is also believed that 80% of cannabis entering the UK comes from Morocco, and the herbal form comes from Jamaica. Cannabis contains more than 400 chemicals. The main psycholoactive ingerdient id delta-9-tetahydrocannabinol, or ‘THC’.
The use of marijuana for medical purposes and personal use can be recorded as far as 12,000 years ago. Marijuana is classified as a schedule 1 drug. Schedule 1 drugs are drugs are drugs that have the potential for abuse (Drug Scheduling,2016). The government contains the high-level drugs, this is the reason we have pharmacies. Pharmacies are regulated so that people can not get medicine that can be easily abused. Pharmacies require a medical prescription from a certified doctor for any drug that could be used improperly. Marijuana should be in the same category as prescription drugs because, like any medicine/drug it can be easily abused. Decriminalizing marijuana is not helping millions of people that could benefit from its medical benefits from legalizing it. Even though legalized marijuana may result in an increase in black-market drug trade, marijuana should be legalized because its sale could benefit the economy and can also be used for medical purposes.
Weed, bud, ganja, chronic, dro, herbs, grass, trees, pot, reefer; these are all names of the one drug that causes so much dispute, marijuana. Loved by so many, and hated by the law. It’s a two sided argument which everyone has their own opinion on. Is there any specific reason why weed should be illegal, or is the government just making money from catching people with it? Is there any real medical purpose for marijuana, or is it just a gateway drug for kids? These are the questions everyone should know the answers to. Whose side are you on?
Marijuana is believe it or not, one of the safest ‘illegal’ drugs on Earth. It is safer than legal alternatives: alcohol or tobacco. According to CNN “1 in 8 Americans smoke marijuana on a regular basis.” the drug can provide medical benefits, lower social costs, and better the economy. Therefore Marijuana should be deemed legal for recreational and medicinal usage across America, because it provides medical benefits, lowers social cost, and betters the economy across the board.
To begin with, legalizing marijuana in all 50 U.S. states would benefit those who need marijuana for medicinal purposes. The use of cannabis for medicinal reasons has dated back thousands of years. During the years of exploration in America, the plant Hemp was grown and exported in the colonies. In the 1840’s, marijuana was used as a common medicine in the West after a French doctor came to the conclusion that the drug could help with headaches and sleep issues. Cannabis can be used to prevent epileptic seizures, and a new study has revealed that a chemical in marijuana may be able to prevent cancer from spreading throughout the body. Those who suffer from extreme anxiety may also benefit by using marijuana to their advantage to suppress nausea and help with pain. Along with many other health complications,
Marijuana should not be legalized because it will increase health issues, its use will rise rather than decline, and taxation will result in economic failure. In recent years, however, society has become very moderate, and this is why society’s views can be swayed by the benefits of legalization. Nowadays, legalizing marijuana is not that big of a deal as it was in the 60’s and 70’s when hippies and peace organizations were advocating for marijuana use. However, if marijuana is legalized it has been said that it might be the gateway drug to legalizing all illegal drugs.
