For the longest time, college athletes have poured their heart into their sport and worked very hard every day of every week. These athletes have proven themselves enough to able to show off their ability and talents at a university. These college athletes have a job and work too. Their job is to bring in money for the university they are playing for. In order for these athletes to play well enough to be considered able to bring in profit for the university, they must play a sport that they love to play and not a sport that they are forced to play. Over time, the main question that is on everyones mind is should students that play the sport they love for a university get paid simply because they are a college athlete that is displayed on television. My goal for this paper is to inform you of the reasons I believe they should get paid. Most people that win a game will have an emotional reaction to it. It is pure joy, a feeling close to something like being unstoppable. These are the moments where the only thing that matters is the win. Any other thought is pushed out of your mind. The NCAA made roughly 11 billion dollars this year alone. The University of Alabama brought in 143.3 million dollars of that revenue from their college athletes. That is more than all of the 30 NHL teams and 25 out of 30 NBA teams make. Most of the money received due to college athletes doesn't even go to the college. Colleges bring in money for their athletic programs every year totaling between 100 thousand dollars and millions of dollars. These college athletes are symbols for the college they are playing for. They bring in revenue through donations from others, tickets, the media, and advertisement
