Do you ever think a teacher gives out homework? Yes, I think that to. Kids should not have that much homework well not even that much none at all. It’s extra harder for middle and high school cause they more than one classes. When kids come from they are ready to play because they spend all day in school doing work. Homework eats up free time. In 11 and 12, it can be difficult to manage homework with independent study. Studying is enough even though we have a test coming up. Homework can cause stress for some children, leading to issues such as sleep deprivation. We start at nine and get out at three, that’s enough already. Adult come home from exhausted from work and yet they can’t understand when their kids have trouble at the end of a
Studies show homework barely makes a difference. Kids claim homework is useless to them, and they might be right. Homework can be hard for kids and when they have trouble then it is harder for them to understand what the instructions are. Kids also get worried when they forget their homework. I think you should be able to turn in homework a day early or a day late. Most importantly kids do not perform better by a lot when they do homework. I think kids should have no homework.
I believe, as a student, that homework is just a tool that teachers use to keep us busy. Being a student who has received homework for various years, I have found that homework causes me a lot of stress (Ethos). Homework causes kids to get very stressed out, it causes stress in their families, and studies show that it does not improve test scores. Harris Cooper, a worker at Duke University (Ethos), found out that, doing more than 60 to 90 minute of homework in middle school and more than 2 hours in high school is associated with much lower scores (Logos). This just shows that homework is a useless item that students are forced to do. Firstly, students have to wake up from seven until two o'clock everyday,
Have you ever wanted to just shred up your homework or throw it out the window and have no consequences? Kids are assigned daily homework from the time they start kindergarten at the ripe young age of five. Is it really necessary? Does it even help better learning or even higher test scores? The amount of homework we do wastes time, money, paper, and trees because it’s practically the exact same thing we did in class that day. Homework causes kid’s and teen’s frustration, tiredness, little time for other activities and possibly even a loss of interest in their education. It also keeps everyone up; it has kids and teens staying up until they finish it, the parents trying to help them and the teachers grading it. So, I think that homework is
Shopping at the mall and hanging out with friends is much more important than doing homework. Why are students required to do homework anyway? It’s a waste of time so they should not be required to do homework. Homework is causing stress, which is resulting in students spending less quality time with their families as well as with their friends. It is also causing students to feel burned out and to not be engaged with school as they should be. Even though students need to learn how to manage their time more effectively, including budgeting time to complete homework assignments, they should not be required to do homework. Students should not be required to do homework because it stresses out students.
Homework has been around for many years, and parents have had many questions and concerns about the impact it has on their children. Kate McReynolds states in her article Homework that, “In 1957, the Soviet launch of Sputnik challenged the intellectual and military might of the United States. The New York Times ran a series of articles describing the Soviet educational system as superior to the United States’ system. Congress passed the National Defense Education Act and America’s youngsters were charged with restoring the nation’s competitive edge” (2). This means that schools are under the pressure to make sure their students excel and work extremely hard. So by doing so, they assign homework, which will progress to other issues for the students.
Kids should be given less homework because of the the facts that it causes stress, negative health effects and stops them from developing new talents. Kids that are given enormous amounts of homework suffer from symptoms of stress.
Kids don’t have enough time to relax when they get home from a hard day at school. Life today is hectic even for kids. In the majority of cases, they have some extracurricular activities (clubs or sports) and supplementary classes or tutoring to attend almost every day. Such a busy schedule puts a child under a lot of stress and homework doubles it.
In my opinion i think kids should have less homework. One of my reasons is it will take the stress of your shoulders. I also think this because say you have to study for a test on monday and because all the homework you get a bad grade. In addishion, this is why i think kids should have less homework.
Do you know what it feels like to be pressured? To feel like you just can't do something, or just absolutely cannot complete something? To feel like you are not able to do something? Well, unfortunately, kids feel this way all of the time. You're probably wondering why. Believe it or not, the cause for this is homework. Did you know that homework can cause major stress that can lead to drug abuse, alcohol abuse, or even thoughts of suicide? This partly why schools should not have homework. Yes, you might think that homework should be in schools because it can also establish great habits with kids, but homework is not such a friendly aspect of life for everyone. In fact, it takes up tons of their life. You might think that it's unfortunate, but homework should not occur.
I strongly believe that homework must not be given out to high school students simply because many students may suffer from stress, Many students have other commitments they may have to attend to after school, Students also have at least 6-7 hours of school 5 days a
Oxford dictionary, homework is schoolwork that a student is required to do at home. But there
The younger generations have been assigned an extreme amount of homework in school. The homework has overwhelmed many of them making them dislike school or even wondering the point of it. Education today is taught on the same level to all students but every child is different on their ways of learning, their attitude towards it is different. It is sad to know that even an Act created by a president titled “No Child Left Behind” has failed in an article by Kenneth Jost critics say that law has hurt education by overemphasizing standardized tests and unfairly labeling schools as underperforming without providing necessary help to improve. Students should be taught in a group and one on one at their own pace not the pace that some teacher’s paper says. Today, schools are issuing an abundant amount of homework to pupils ones which has caused a lot of stress, a dislike of learning, and even have caused grades to drop.
How would you feel if you were surrounded by people that always wanted to do homework? Would you follow what they do and want to do as much homework as they wanted or would you not go down that and just be one of those normal everyday people. Well if children just had homework to do they wouldn 't even be able to do what they want to do out of school such as spend quality time with their loved ones or participate in extracurricular activities. More homework could also give children stress and make them do unpredictable things. These are the reasons why I think that teachers should lessen the amount of homework given to children.
Teachers assign too much homework. Kids shouldn't have to spend hours of their time on busy work.
But for good reason. Homework takes away time from more important things, causes pressure, --heck, it causes suicides!-- it is unfair, and most importantly, it doesn’t help. Honestly, teachers, you have a choice; you can either have us be completely focused on homework and grades, missing out on a better life, or we can live a more healthy lifestyle, during which we can learn from experience, not textbooks, and maybe have a chance to make some changes in the world. It is time to decide.
