I think that for people to remain positive during election time is to make sure the people are voting for the right person. If people are getting the results they want then the chances of them being happier increases. This is a way to ensure people stay positive about election time, when the person they wanted are running for president. Also for the people to be involved and make sure their opinions are being displayed through presidential candidates is important
Most people with a positive attitude are more likely to be successful in life. Those who disagree are less likely to be caring towards other's feelings. People who a have a positive outlook on life; in general are likable, more prosperous, and have a better sense of community. The importance of having a positive attitude is that it helps you improve your standard of living and someone else's day. In conclusion, just being positive helps everyone no matter have much you use. People who are positive towards themselves and others are more likable. Many have different daily life styles. Say if two same teenagers went to a interview for the same job. Teenager 1 is a young man that comes with the wrong type of clothing on; but his grades are amazing.
You feel happy when you are optimistic. This can result in you feeling more energetic, give you brighter eyes, and bring you success and happiness. You also walk with more confidence and have a stronger voice. Also, your positivity can spread to others, however, any negativity can also spread. Some ways to be positive are to not allow what other people say about you get to you. Other ways are to smile more, try to only visualize positive things, use positive words when talking to people, and don’t give up. (Sasson, The Power of Positive Thinking, Paragraphs 1, 14, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 27) These are great examples of why you would want to be optimistic and respond to conflict with positivity.
An article written by Kendra Cherry states, “By nurturing positive emotions, even in the face of terrible events, people can reap both short-term and long-term rewards, including managing stress levels, lessening depression, and building coping skills that will serve them well in the future” (Cherry). Optimism has allowed for people to deal with conflicts in a healthy way. Neuroscientist Tali Sharot in her book The Science of Optimism: Why We’re Hard-Wired for Hope argues that optimism provides an adaptive advantage. According to her, “Expecting our future to be good reduces stress and anxiety, which is good for our health. Researchers studying heart attack patients have found that optimists were more likely than nonoptimistic patients to take vitamins, eat low-fat diets, and exercise, thereby reducing their overall coronary risk” (Popova). Dealing with conflicts positively is better for your health and it decreases bad health
Election Day is a standout amongst the most energizing days of the year. Our country meets up to choose a leader who will speak to us on the worldwide stage for the following four years. We will choose a leader that will remain for our rights as natives, students, representatives and businesses. We will choose a leader that will ideally stay faithful to their obligations. It is a major
Some people argue that happiness helps make good decisions because happy people strive for the best result. David states, “[Positive emotions] help build vital social, physical, and cognitive resources that lead to positive outcomes and affiliations” (124). David points out that with the right amount of positivity, people make good judgments. The author acknowledges that happiness can have benefits, but she states that too much happiness could hurt human development because the mind does not consider the consequences of an action. Julie Norem, a psychology professor, points out, “’If you’re a pessimist who really thinks through in detail what might go wrong, that’s a strategy that’s likely to work very well for you’” (qtd. in Wallis). She explains
In the strength of positivity, an individual is often smiling, praising other people for their accomplishments, smiling and always keeping a positive attitude in every situation (Rath, 2007). The eager for enjoyment in life is very attracting, as an individual with positivity strength views the world in a better place. As this person comes in contact with other people in this world, a positive vibe is transformed into their lives. Even if negative things are happening around this individual, the positivity strength defeats and overcomes the negative energy (Rath,
In a world where there is increasingly significant polar opposite feelings, it is hard to stay focused on one’s own feelings with so many other opinions being constantly expressed. From confused and frustrated to incredibly confident and angry, it is impossible not to clash with others. Because of the divide between voters, there is increased arguments and talk of the election in general.
There are many different views on positive thinking whether it is to be positive all the time as suggested by the film The Secret, be a realist and don’t be delusional as stated by Barbara Ehrenreich in her speech “How Positive Thinking Undermines America”, or just be somewhere in between such as a person who is optimistic but not to the point where they expect something they want to come out of the blue, they have to work for it.
The optimism bias pushes people towards positive change because most people want positive change and according to Tali Sharot to make changes in our life we must believe that the changes are possible. Even rather pessimistic people want to change there for they believe it is possible. When a person believes in change and anticipates the change it releases serotonin in the brain and brings about a happy feeling, there for improving their overall wellbeing.
Physically, an individual may lower his blood pressure and heart risk, may heal from illness, and may live longer. It also helps the brain to function better by learning new skills and behavior. In terms of relationship, people become more cooperative and starts to appreciate and collaborate with other people. Positive emotion also broaden the possibilities in perceiving experiences beyond the narrow range of survival. It allows the individual to open their mind and heart to new ideas so that they could see the bigger picture more accurately to create a better strategies in coping. It makes the individual more optimistic, confident and creative in creating a decision that promotes a win-win
Less than a month ago, our country experienced one of the most opposed and protested elections in history. The day of the election and the day following it reported a very high 20% of Americans were in a bad mood(characterized by stress and worry without happiness), almost double the average amount (Davis). There are many contributing factors to why this number could have been so high. It’s not just one reason, but a combination of lots of explanations for why so many Americans were considered to be in a bad mood. It is
It is very important to stay positive for many different reasons, one of these reasons being that, it could help reassure the other person by giving them hope. For example in, 7 Tips for Resolving Conflicts Quickly and Peacefully, they say, “You could say, ‘You’re absolutely right, it is my fault and here is what I’ll do to fix it.’ Even if you’re NOT wrong, at least give them the benefit of the doubt” (Hopson). This would make the other person feel better and make them think that the argument may come to a close soon. In Deer Mrs. Breed the author says,“In spite of all the difficulties, Louise's positive and patriotic spirit rings true in these final words of her letter: ‘If American soldiers can endure hardships so can we!’ “(Baroletti 413) showing how positive and happy they are despite their situations. The short story also says, “One of the most beautiful scenery was when crossing a bridge which was right above the Colorado River. It is indeed, a beautiful river.” (Baroletti 412), even though they were being drove to an internment camp in the middle of the desert, they still found the beauty in things around them. Staying positive is a key factor in solving
State and local elections create a series of moments that are sometimes stressful for the voters who are faced with the decision making process that could have a major impact on their lives and their communities. Selecting and voting for the candidate that holds the values, qualities and opinions that a voter shares is often not so clear cut. Presidential elections have the potential for creating even greater stress and anxiety due to the power and control that the voters give to one individual. Voters have to consider the quality of a sole being that will eventually make decisions that impact the entire nation, and ultimately every individual citizen. This decision making process for both the candidates and the voters can be observed from multiple psychological perspectives; ranging from the social to the psychoanalytic. The 2008 Presidential election, however, presents even more perspectives due to the candidacy of a well known, strong female and a dynamic and charismatic African American. In light of the fact that either one of these candidates will constitute a “first” if they win the election, many voters may be influenced by a number of psychological perspectives as Election Day approaches.
It allows you to maintain a positive attitude. It’s equally important to focus and eliminate the negative aspects of your life. Seattle’s news is important but it doesn’t feel right. Something isn’t adding up. The announcements timing was pre scheduled but it still didn’t feel right.
WITH A POSITIVE ATTITUDE WE EXPERIENCE PLEASANT AND HAPPY FEELINGS. THIS BRINGS BRIGHTNESS TO THE EYES, MORE ENERGY, AND HAPPINESS. OUR WHOLE BEING BROADCASTS GOOD
