Should The US Use Atomic Bombs Against Japan To End World War II?

The atomic bombs that Harry Truman dropped on the Japanese killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people. This action was unjustified because many innocent Japanese civilians lost their lives in the bombings. These bombs were so powerful that it caused imminent defeat and were not necessary. Also, the US officials were split. The actions Harry Truman had undertaken in the bombing of the Japanese were unjustified because many innocent people were killed, the bomb was not necessary, and the US officials were split.

The atomic bombs might have killed thousands, but the bombs also saved millions. Before the war even started Japan had a grudge on America for cutting off of their oil supplies. Germany lost to the allies after hitter committed suicide. Japan was the last remain axis power. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, America had a right to join the war and get revenge. When America dropped the bombs, they did their best not to harm many civilians. Also they saved more lives than they took. The atomic bomb was the best way toned the war efficiently.

The Bombs were not as bad as people think it was. President Harry S. Truman had already warned that any attempt to invade japan would cause unusual acts that would bring the war to a brief end. Roughly about 90,000-146,000 people were killed in Hiroshima & 39,000-80,000 in Nagasaki,which most of the death occurred on the very first day of the bombings. The Army Officer made it seem like that was the only choice was the bomb but it really wasn’t.

On the 6th and 9th of August, 1945, the United States of America dropped the Atomic Bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The use of these bombs brought a quick end to World War 2, yet caused extensive damage to the two Japanese cities. There have often been disputes as to whether the USA was justified in the dropping of the atomic bombs because of the damage they caused, not only to the cities, but to the people of Japan as well. Many people believe that the USA should not have dropped the bombs because of the damage they caused, and they also claim that Japan was already defeated. However, Japan did not surrender, and prolonging the war was not an option for America, as it believed it would cause even more casualties, not only to American troops, but to Japan as well. Thus the USA was justified in dropping the bombs on Japan.

WWII was one of the deadliest wars in history. The war was ended only when the United States introduced the atomic bomb to the world and destroyed the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. A lot of controversy surrounds the decision made by President Truman to drop the bombs on Japan. The casualties were high and many were civilians, and with this it breeds the following question: Was it the right decision? Could there have been something else the United States could have done before going to such extreme measures? The decision to bomb the Japanese wasn’t an easy one and although the right decision was made it had more to do with political, ethical, and military reasoning than morality.

If the bomb was never dropped then the United States would have invaded japan and lost up to 1,000,000 soldiers in the battle (source 8). The United States should not have dropped the bomb because it killed more innocent people than it did threats to the country. The bomb had a blast radius of over 2,000 yards. This bomb disintegrated anything that was 1 mile within ground zero which was the drop site of the bomb.

Although bombs were violent in World War II, they were very effective in conquering territory, which is what caused their continual use. However, bombs were extremely dangerous and the idea of building bigger bombs caused the Atomic bomb to be created.

A mere three days later on August 9th, a second American B-29 bomber dropped a second atomic bomb, “Fat Boy,” on the city of Nagasaki, killing an estimated of 40,000 people. Contradictory to the United States’ “reasons” for dropping the atomic bomb on the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, their decision was unjustified and unnecessary.

To Drop or To Not Drop Is it right and just to kill an innocent person? Is it right and just to bomb a crowded city of civilians? The rest died slowly to radiation exposure. Bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the atomic bomb killed 90% of the population immediately. Accordingly, these bombs were monsters.

A lot of people just think that because we won the war, it was a good decision, but it wasn’t really. First of all the dropping of the bomb was immoral. Secondly, we could’ve won in a different way. Lastly it started a war with Russia because they saw what the atomic bomb was capable of.

No, I do not believe that the United States should have dropped the atomic bombs on Japan. I believe this because the bombs that were dropped were the most devastating and disastrous weapons that the world had ever seen, at this point in history. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima in total killed about 140,000 people. According to the video, “70,000 people were killed instantly and by 1945 another 70,000 died from radiation poisoning”. Radiation poisoning is a very painful and slow death. First, your hair starts to fall out, then, painful blisters start to form, and finally a person’s organs, pretty much, cook internally. The United States reasonings for dropping the atomic bombs were that we wanted to force the Japanese to surrender so it would minimize american deaths, The US also needed to use the atomic bomb before the Soviet Union joined the war against Japan to create US dominance after, and finally the US wanted to use the first atomic bomb

It was only used in war. (other than test) The atomic bomb gets its power from the release of energy by splitting the nuclei of elements such as plutonium or uranium.

The atomic bombing of Japan was an unjustified decision that many considered was inhumane. Through the use of atomic bombs, many innocents were harmed in one way or another. Berger described the atomic bombing of Hiroshima as "a terrorist act" and that it was "evil". While Berger 's argument was extreme, the U.S. still remains unjustified because they did not know exactly how much damage the bomb would actually cause. Bombing Japan, the U.S. harmed thousands of civilians and displayed the effectiveness of the atomic bomb despite having other options to end the war.
