When browsing through the news and seeing names of celebrities, industry authorities or artists, people may think that they have a one-track career in mind. However, according to recent reports, millennials do not stick to one job in mind. People now-a-days work second jobs, often to pay the bills or just earn extra income. But a lot of people have different reasons for taking on a second job. And there is a difference between taking on another gig for some cash on the side or working a second job to finance a person’s dreams. This is called the side hustle. Even celebrities side hustle. Ken Jeong, for example, side hustles. Known for his role in “The Hangover” trilogy, this comedic actor also worked double. He is a licensed doctor and
Why should Millennials be ridiculed with the feeling of entitlement towards their career? They have spent their entire lives building a strong foundation for this specialized career that is intended to make them both successful and happy. It’s not a dumb move either, to find a elite job and enjoy it is a very strategic idea in order to create the lives Millennials intend to carry out. Millennials are being raised in an economic recession similar to that of the Depression era. They have the same mentality to work hard and save money, unlike the spendthrift Generation X (Wright). Millennials are bringing a new work mentality, rather than working to make a living and being unhappy they are choosing a career that they love and adjusting it to make it enjoyable and be productive at the same time (Freisse). Probably the biggest, most important factor is that with this new attitude of Millennials, work is going to be evaluated by performance not attendance (Jowett). This is going to increase productivity and weed out those who are not working hard. Today’s generation, Millennials, isn’t a bunch of sensitive, can’t do it, dummy’s like is believed. But an intelligent, hard working, compassionate group of people.

In his book Working, Studs Terkel interviews a prostitute named Roberta Victor. During her interview, Victor describes how she became a prostitute and the variety of people she encountered while engaging in sexual activity in exchange for money. During the middle of the interview, Victor states, “A hustler is any woman in American society. I was the kind of hustler who received money for favors granted rather than the type of hustler who signs a lifetime contract for her trick. Or the kind of hustler who carefully reads women’s magazines and learns what is proper to give for each date, depending on how much money her date or trick spends on her” (Terkel 57). Later she states, “What I did was no different from what ninety-nine
Many people have side businesses that they love. Others earn extra money just doing what they know how to do. While not every one of the businesses is going to make the cover of Money or Fortune, some just might. Let's look at three side businesses that did just that.
At every turn there are talks about millennials. Whether it be a meme on the internet mocking them or a serious article addressing possible issues that involve their futures. As David Brooks argues in his article, ‘It’s Not About You’, if millennials are going to be successful in life then they have to realize that not everything is about them. Brooks’ claim effectively appeals to the audience’s emotions, yet he fails to explain the logic in his argument and build his credibility. Pointing out the many problems that millennials may face as they start life on their own, Brooks elicits many emotions from his audience.

As time passes, the goals of millennials adapt to the nature of society. With new age media and technology, the modern generation see celebrities and their lavish lifestyle daily. Prostitutes do mostly part-time work and can make a lot of money to support themselves, as opposed to taking other jobs, due to the fact that the work is illegal and customers are willing to pay. In addition to supply and demand to support oneself, the motivation for this field of work is also related to differences in how much money a woman earns compared to a man. A woman is willing to be a prostitute, since she can charge a higher. With relations to economics, prostitutes are involved in cost-benefit analysis when it comes to having a pimp, just like people do when it comes to real estate agents. In both situations people decide that it is better to provide money to someone else for a more beneficial
Once upon a time I time I was working as a maid. I fell on hard times and jobs weren’t as fruitful. Needing some quick cash I decided to hustle some money cleaning houses with a local company. Things picked up when I met my real side hustle, Mr. Torres.
