The Russian Revolution, a battle of the people vs. the dictator Joseph Stalin and his totalitarian government is represented by the events in this satirical/allegorical novel, “Animal Farm” by George Orwell. Rebellion, new government, high hopes, betrayal, the revolution, failure. All are in this book. We believe it is about power corruption leading to more corrupted leaders, even after an overthrow. We see this with Napoleon (Who represents Stalin) and Jones (who represents Czar Nicholas II). The book describes the multiple events transpired during the Russian Revolution. Example: Napoleon and Snowball would be at each other's throats, like Leon Trotsky and Stalin. Until later in the book when Napoleon exiled Snowball and the animals were forced to work without breaks (Under the pretense of “volunteer” work). In the real events Joseph Stalin forced people to work without breaks and in terrible conditions, while causing the worst man-made famine in human history. This was shown in the book when the animals were working on the windmill and they had to hide the fact that the farm was running out of food by filling the barrels with sand. …show more content…

2; The revolution started when Mr. Jones was too drunk to feed the animals or to milk the cows; due to Old Major's preaching about the animals being better at running the farm than the humans, the animals revolted. In the animal’s eyes, Jones was also cruel, as he would kill the animals after they had outlived their usefulness. His farmhands follow their employer's example, as they are equally negligent.
