The biggest reason of why these presidents are famous is that they were both involved in two World Wars. Even though World War One started in 1914, the U.S. was not involved in the war at all until American passengers were killed on a ship off the coast of Ireland. After the war, Wilson created the League of Nations, which his famously presented the fourteen points. These points made some changes around Europe, but it did not stop the U.S. to be involved in another World War. Eventually, World War Two would happen. Similar to the First World War, the United States was not involved from the beginning. However, the attack on Pearl Harbor changed everything. One reason is that Woodrow Wilson didn’t really have any economic downturn unlike the Great Depression with FDR. FDR had to help the banks and also provided jobs for unemployed Americans. Another reason is that FDR actually saw how Wilson handled the country, while he was a secretary of the Navy. This gave him an advantage to do things differently than how Wilson did, while he was president. When it comes to the wars, FDR was much more focused on the conflict than Wilson. He actually did care more about the conflict, because he was concerned with his foreign policy. Even though he didn’t live to see his United Nations in full action, FDR would have been proud to see of what it has done. Wilson’s League of Nations and the fourteen points were just not effective enough to never start a conflict again. I respect Woodrow Wilson’s presidency, but FDR showed that he could handle all the obstacles that were around him and his nation. In conclusion, I believe that FDR was more ready to handle a conflict, because of the mistakes that he learned from the past presidents and the way that he approached the presidency can be seen in the modern
