Since the moment you are created in the womb, you are being made with your own characteristics. Everyone is unique in their own way, but in some cases what makes them unique can be quite impressive. The moment a single cell takes an unexpected turn can lead to the formation of a special person. This was just the case for Randy Foye, Melanie Gaydos, and the DaSilva family. Randy Foye may look normal to you, but what is different in him cannot be seen in the outside. Randy was born with situs inversus. Situs inversus is a condition where your organs are reversed. Aside his condition Randy has been very successful in his career as a basketball player. Although there could be a risk of him developing an internal sickness easier than others
People come into the world all alone as a blank slate, as far as personality, and while there are always other people around us through the course of their lives, people
Every human that has stepped foot on this earth has had a different story. No story is identical, no story is exact, no story is perfect. No one has ever read a book that was exactly alike by two completely different authors. Now why do you think that is? Why is everyone so unique? It is because we are each born in different settings or environments. Our families, homes, and communities shape who we are, because no one is born a certain way… Rather, we each live a different way.
I've never considered myself the result of a cookie cutter mold, but the older I get, the more I wonder about that. Everyone thinks they're one of a kind. Everyone thinks they're unique and quirky and special. Is there really something that makes each individual special? What could possibly make over seven billion people all unique? I grew up with all boys, and that impacts me. My childhood was chock full of biking off-road, building odd contraptions in the neighbors' shed, and burrowing the biggest snow forts we could, without regards to the Minnesota weather. When I was six years old, I started balancing neighborhood shenanigans and Softball. It became part of me, and I loved everything about it. The ring of a ball ricocheting off the ball, the feel of the ball's seams as they rolled off my fingers, and the
Bartolomeu Dias, Amerigo Vespucci, Juan Ponce de León, and Ferdinand Magellan were explorers during the Columbian Exchange. All of these explorers discovered great things for their countries. Here are their life stories.
Modus ponens is also known as affirming the antecedent. Modus ponens has a valid form that illustrates a more effective way of getting the conclusion with certainty. “An argument that affirms the antecedent has one premise and a second premise that affirms the antecedent of the conditional” (p. 165). The conclusion of the modus ponens argument confirms the consequent of the conditional.
My thoughts are that every human being should be different because if there was no difference in the world, then everything that was created has no value to the world. The point I am trying to proof is, There is that one person that is weird and can be different.
In Denver, famous basketball player, Randy Foye was diagnosed with Situs Inversus. It all started around two weeks and five days (19 days), when your cilia is supposed to spin, sending your organs to their place. His cilia didn’t move at all and his left gene became a right gene and vice versa. The inside of his body became a mirror image. This condition can be inherited. This happens in every 1 per 10,000 people. In some cases, not all organs switch, Randy was very lucky. If only a few organs switched sides. His heart would be affected for life. This is fatal for 30% of embryos with this
Nine months is all it takes to create every single human living on this planet . Nine months and in that time you turn from something as small as a seed to a newborn baby . During this whole cycle and amazing journey we are all made to be unique and different from everybody else . There is only one you in this planet which has characteristics that make you who you are. Some of these characteristics happen in the womb which can affect your whole life. Situs inverses , Ectodermal dysplasia, and Sonic hedgehog are just a few examples of genetic conditions that have a complete impact on one's life.
What does it mean to be an individual? People might think of someone strange, or different, but it goes alot deeper than than that. It is someone who was
A bus pulls up to a gravelly parking lot, no buildings in sight except a small building with a sign with a very unusual name, “Icthus”. Icthus is a Christian summer camp I go to every summer, and its is one of my favorite places in the wold. Whenever I walk around camp it fill my head with some of my happiest memories. First, I enter the Ichtus Worship Building, I can still hear the sound of praise to The Lord, a very familiar sound to me. After a little bit of walking, I come up to the kitchen, just by looking at it I get hungry for the buttery and soft mashed potatoes. Around a mile away from the kitchen is the fire pit, where night worship meets. I can almost smell the burned wood in the fire and feel the comforting warmth of the fire.
The Renaissance and subsequent eras of Baroque and Rococo were a catalyst for significant scientific advance. Interestingly enough, we see this reflected in various forms of art in each era or time period. Science was initially considered taboo for many reasons. Firstly, it was often at odds with something or some part of the church’s teachings. While the church was at this stage starting to lose its stranglehold of influence over the people, it was very much still the law of the land, and not to be taken lightly.
Medieval philosophy is the philosophy in the era referred to as the Middle Ages, the period extending from the fall of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century C.E. to the Renaissance in the 16th century. It is defined partly by the process of rediscovering the ancient culture developed in Greece and Rome in during classical period, and partly by the need to address theological problems and to integrate sacred doctrine along with secular learning. The main topics that were discussed throughout this period was the relation of faith to reason, the existence of God, the purpose of theology and metaphysics, and the problems of knowledge, of universals, and of individuation. One influential philosopher from this period is Averroes.
Streptococcus iniae is a gram-positive, coccoid first reported in 1976 after being isolated from subcutaneous abscesses in captive Amazon freshwater dolphins (Inia geoffrensis) (Pier & Madin, 1976). S. iniae has since become a major fish pathogen in aquacultures worldwide. Its major significance is as an aetiological agent of streptococcosis in farmed fish and is known to infect tilapia, red drum, hybrid striped bass and rainbow trout (SOURCE). The estimated impact of infections caused by S. iniae on the American aquaculture industry was USD$10M. Globally, the impact in estimated at USD$100M (Shoemaker et al., 2000). Recently, S. iniae has emerged as a growing human threat, as there have currently been 25 cases of human infection (Facklam et al., 2005).
Commius (Atrabatan) was one of the first kings of Britain. His coinage started in 50 B.C. Commius coinage was quite rudimentary and was made of the three well know metals: gold, silver and bronze. He made the first inscribed coins of the British people. These coins had a mix of roman and Greek design but also were made by a comparatively unskilled workman. There are very few coins found of his time and some think all his coins were minted by his sons to commemorate him. This I believe is false due to the style changes between his coinage and all his sons. Commius or Commios was the first name on British coinage. His identity is unclear but from what numismatics evidence shows, he was probably the head of the island-Atrebates and Belgic tribes
What is an identity in which any human is to be created outlandishly unique? Scientifically, every human on planet earth is made up of the same genetic material that consists of DNA and its corresponding codons. However, what makes us unique amongst the vast millions of people on this planet, is that of our identities, interests, and talents. Metaphorically, I am made up of the comments that my professors, teachers, and parents say about me. What can be heard is that of "a natural born leader, fluent in the way of articulation, and always prepared for what lies ahead in her future". Moreover, I can be defined as an authority figure that is ready to take on what lies ahead in my academic future as an attentive student; as well as, a destined
