Wesley Cobble had always been a bully, that is, until he became friends with Scott. Wesley had been known as a bully throughout high school. But that all changed when one morning, Wesley picked up Scott (the main character) and brought him to school, it was as if Wesley had a change in heart and wanted to be friends with Scott. Wesley wasn’t usually the type to make friends, but for some reason, he became friends with Scott, which changed him and benefited him. Wesley changed the most in Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie because he went from being a bully to Scott to being his friend, and he learned to stop stealing. One reason Wesley changed the most in Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie was because when he decides to become friends with Scott, he starts to try and help Scott instead of bullying him and stealing from him. Wesley starts to take Scott to school and pick him up from school, he also stops stealing Scott’s lunch money and doesn’t bully him anymore. He even helps Scott find a ride to prom in order to impress his friend, Lee. …show more content…
At first Scott didn’t like school and wasn’t confident. He also was so focused on impressing a girl. In the end he started to actually like school because of his friends and what clubs and activities he participated in, like the school paper, he also started to become confident from writing and stopped focusing on a girl and started to focus on himself. However, they are wrong because when signing up for the school paper, he wanted to show off his writing skills, not write reviews for the sports teams. As a result to writing certain articles about the teams, Vernon (a bully) gets upset and comes after Scott. Scott made some changes, but they ended up backfiring in a way. Wesley definitely changed the most in Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie because compared to Scott, he had more permanent changes like not stealing or bullying anymore and making good
There are so many ways and reasons that people can change. You can change for love, passion, or to fit in. There are many more things that can change a person. I’m taking two stories and looking if the characters changed or stayed the same.
Since this story had so much to do with friendships and emotions I’ve found that this story had lots of theme but one of the theme I’ve found was “The way you change, will also change the people around you” I had picked this theme because the way he changed had a lot of affect around him, maybe it’s because he’s the main

People change and grow through their experiences and conflicts. For example, just 2 years ago I was a sixth grader. There was a lot more homework than I ever had in my non-accelerated / magnet elementary school. I had to work harder and for longer hours, but as a result, I was much more mature and knowledgeable. I improved my work habits and increased my concentration. In Judith Ortiz Cofer’s “First Love”, a 14 year old girl is in love with a high school senior. She does everything she can to try to see him more often. At the end, she thinks she learns the true meaning of love. In Richard Wright’s “The Street”, a boy has to go shopping for food, but he is constantly stopped by a gang who beats him up. At the end, he beats up the gang with a stick his mother gave him because he had to to return home. In both “The Street” by Richard Wright and “First Love” by Judith Ortiz Cofer, the characters start out as shy and naive, but end up as aware and wiser as a result of their respective conflicts.
The film The Breakfast club illustrates how a person’s identity can be influenced by conflict he or she has experienced. First, Claire Standish she gets everything she wants, her dad treats her like a princess and she can’t do anything on her own. For example , She skipped school to go shopping but her dad didn’t really care cause he used to all ways get her out of Sunday detention but this time he couldn’t. Everybody looked up to her like she was god because she was pretty and had popularity. Andrew Clark he can’t really think for himself because his dad was mainly running his life as if it was his because he wanted his son to be like him. For instance, Andrew taped some kids booty together everybody else thought it was
He was doing pretty well, but was cocky. His mother did notice a significant change in him. Even though he now liked military school, he still had many mixed feelings about being there. He thought he should be home with family and friends, but the day he and his friend walked into town to get something to eat was the day his journey into manhood began. As they walk a car pulled up on them. They didn’t know who it was, but tried to get away fast. They pulled off but return trying to running them over. They jumped out of the way. After they thought the coast was clear they continued to the pizza shop. Suddenly they were surprised by someone called out, “go home nigger”. In that moment was when I see the change in Wes. He thought about his mother and father and he knew he was support to walk away. In this case run away! This is the day that he finally lived up to the name his father gave me. This was his first real move into manhood.
Wes is a middle sized kid that was raised with one rule, send a message. In the streets he picked up that it is important for people to respect you. Wes tries to make good decisions but he can easily be overtaken with the want of money and thus the reason he decides to sell drugs. His philosophy, send a message also has gotten him in lots of trouble. In a blind rage he ran after a kid with a knife and got put on a cop car. He also ran around the neighborhood chasing Ray with a gun because he beat him up. As you can tell his other weakness is anger.
People change over the years, and that changes situations for good and for bad (Bobby Knight). In the story The Body of Christopher Creed by Carol Plum-Ucci, Torey went from having the hottest girl in the school as his girl friend, being in a band, and being on the football team, to losing his friends and ending up in a mental hospital within one year. Throughout the story, Torey drastically changes for the worse because he kept telling lies and looking for Creed, so he went crazy. At the beginning of the story, Torey was very well liked by his friends and peers, but as the story went on he lost much of his friends’ respect, and became known as a completely different person.
Just because they all come from different cliques does not mean that they are completely different. For one, all have familial problems as well. Brian’s parents put an enormous amount of pressure on him to succeed. Andrew’s father constantly criticizes his son and is never satisfied. Claire’s parents use her a tool for their frequent arguments. And Allison’s parents ignore her. The strained relationships each character has with their parents defines them-- they are who they are because of that. And when each character shared their secrets, they started to understand each other much better. John reveals to everyone that he comes from an abusive family. Brian reveals that he was going to kill himself with a flare gun due to a bad grade. Andrew reveals that he has trouble making his own decisions. Allison is shown to be a compulsive liar. Clair also reveals that she is a virgin, and feels pressure from her friends. These revelations not only bring all the characters closer, but they also define the characters. And even though they became friends, the characters acknowledge that the next day, everything will go back to being the same. John is initially angry that Claire says this, but she reminds him that even he will adhere to this. John will not want to be seen with Claire, for

Life was a constant change for Wyatt Piottorff. Besides the changes in his life through the school years, there were also changes at home and his daily surroundings. It is important to experience challenges and transitions to find who you are or who you think you are to develop and strengthen your view on yourself.
To begin with, John’s behavior from freshman to sophomore year changed. For Instance, “They used to call me that because I used to set off bombs in the bathroom”. As time passes, many people start to develop change due to certain events that affected their lives. Although some may change, there are still those who go through a tough experience but don’t get affected at all so they remain the same. In the movie Dead Poets Society there are many events that occurred in which the boys in the movie became either a dynamic character or a static character. It all came down to how they were at the end of the movie. Some boys changed and were not the same person they were in the beginning and some didn’t change and remained the same type of person from beginning to end.
behavior. There are three reasons byron changed in this book starting fires, got a conk, and saving kenny from drowning.
Chivalry is not dead. While we’ve heard this saying sarcastically repeated throughout the 21st century, Raymond Chandler’s novel The Big Sleep seeks to preserve chivalrous virtues in a declining moral society. Marlowe’s character flaws are presented throughout the novel through his moral code. Chandler’s portrays Detective Philip Marlowe as a knight, who appears to have a stricter moral code than the rest of society.
