Introduction
As our world expands through the growing abilities and applications of computers in our everyday lives, it seems that the role of the computer has been reversed. Before we knew that the computer only understood what we programmed it to understand; however, now the majority of our society is learning more from computers than they are able to input into it. Dumm (1986 p.69)
History
"The human aspiration to create intelligent machines has appeared in myth and literature for thousands of years, from stories of Pygmalion to the tales of the Jewish Golem." Anat Treister-Goren, Ph.D. (http://www.a-i.com/)
The concepts of the development of artificial intelligence can be traced as far back as ancient Greece. Even

What is Artificial Intelligence?
"Artificial intelligence (AI) is defined as intelligence exhibited by an artificial entity. Such a system is generally assumed to be a computer." (Oxford Dictionary 2006)
Although AI has a strong science fiction connotation, it forms a vital branch of computer science, dealing with intelligent behavior, learning and adaptation in machines. Research in AI is concerned with producing machines to automate tasks requiring intelligent behavior. Examples include control, planning and scheduling, the ability to answer diagnostic and consumer questions, handwriting, speech, and facial recognition.
Social and Ethical Issues Associated with Artificial Intelligence
"Is artificial intelligence in human society a utopian dream or a Faustian nightmare? Will our descendants honor us for making machines do things that human minds do or berate us for irresponsibility and hubris?" Boden (1990 p.199)
Part I Social Impact of Artificial Intelligence
Its is an important factor that the public and politicians of today know as much as possible about the effects for good or ill of Artificial Intelligence in our society.
Clearly Artificial Intelligence has potential advantages, and would be very useful in aiding many professions however there are many that would argue it would be used not for the good of all men. Like many recent Hollywood films exploring AI its application has ended in disaster films like
Artificial intelligence, or AI for short, is “the intelligence exhibited by machines or software.” AI is found in many forms in our society, from video games to traffic predictions to the autocorrect in our phones. When machine personalities are no longer distinguishable from human ones, however, there will be implications for humanity. This advancement will at first be met with skepticism, and the first people to interact with these AI will not consider them sentient beings. Artificial intelligence will eventually be complex enough to exhibit human-like personality, and it is at this point that we will embrace machines, and redefine selfhood to include artificial beings. Once we consider AI sentient, they will rapidly advance until they are
Artificial Intelligence is the taking over of machines to do tasks that would normally require a human to do. The idea of artificial intelligence has been around for years, appearing in movies and television shows to show what the future might bring. Artificial intelligence is becoming closer to a reality and now society must question if it should have a role in society. Artificial intelligence has many flaws at the moment making it impractical for use until society can address the issues facing it like the loss of jobs and how to control the use of AI.
When someone brings up the term “artificial intelligence”, a variety of connotations tend to arise, connotations that often are unfair or unrepresentative of the true real-world applications of such a term. Due to the incidentally fear-mongering nature of the media, artificial intelligence can refer to something as basic as a robotic arm in a factory, as well as the implied extinction and/or enslavement of the human race as caused by robo-revolution. As of today, however, when applied in the world of modern technology, artificial intelligence is defined as any innovation that performs a task usually completed by humans. Of course, with this definition, artificial intelligence holds the potential for both societal harm and benefit, and its fate
One of the hottest topics that modern science has been focusing on for a long time is the field of artificial intelligence, the study of intelligence in machines or, according to Minsky, “the science of making machines do things that would require intelligence if done by men”.(qtd in Copeland 1). Artificial Intelligence has a lot of applications and is used in many areas. “We often don’t notice it but AI is all around us. It is present in computer games, in the cruise control in our cars and the servers that route our email.” (BBC 1). Different goals have been set for the science of Artificial Intelligence, but according to Whitby the most mentioned idea about the goal of AI is provided by the Turing Test. This test is also called the
The term “Artificial Intelligence or AI” is no longer an obscure term to us. Being surrounded by smart and intelligent devices in our everyday life has made us aware about this technical jargon called “Artificial Intelligence or AI”, which is used to refer to machine intelligence in the field of Computer Science. As artificial intelligence continues to progress, machines are becoming smarter and more efficient than human beings. So, people are getting more concerned and apprehensive regarding their jobs after witnessing their jobs being replaced by robots and machines. Artificial Intelligence replacing human jobs frequently gets media attention and it has been made a huge deal even though it is not. AI gradually taking all our jobs and destroying the economic system is just an absurd and exaggerated claim made by few media outlets and self-proclaimed tech pundits. On the contrary, AI has potential to help us to get better at our jobs and create more job opportunities in the long run.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the branch of computer science, which concentrates on the intelligence of machines, and involves applying the principles of reasoning, knowledge planning, learning, communication, perception, and controlling objects to emulate the human brain. The most recognizable AI application is robotics from Hollywood cinema, and includes films such as; I Robot, Transformers, Wall-e, WarGames, A.I., The Terminator, Robocop, Iron Man, and Star Wars to name a few, which is fictional not an actual representation of AI. Robotics applications is only one of three aspects of AI, which also includes
Artificial intelligence pertains to the ability of digital computers or computer-controlled robots to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings, such as humans. Since the mid-20th century, scientists have attempted to develop a system capable of carrying out tasks perceived as requiring human intelligence which includes natural language understanding, fault diagnosis, and supplying expert advice ("Artificial Intelligence(ai)," 2011, n.p.). Although many people, particularly workers within the , are concerned about the effects of artificial intelligence, the capabilities of these machines can benefit society in a multitude of ways ("Artificial Intelligence(ai)," 2011, n.p.). According to Obama, in a speech in Pittsburgh during the 2011 the Robotics Initiative, “Revolutions in technology have transformed the way we live and the way we work,” (Executive Office, 2016). This is in fact true since AI has already begun to have reaping major benefits to the public in fields as diverse as health care, criminal justice, and also the education of individuals which will ultimately revolutionize society (Executive Office, 2016).
Society today is greatly influenced by technology and the impact it has had within the past 20 years. One of the largest breakthroughs, though, is Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). The technology associated with A.I. has greatly developed in the past years, and is only making devices smarter. When someone mentions technology, or even the technological breakthroughs the world has gone through recently, many people go straight to smartphones and computers. A.I. is often overlooked, or put into a general category of "technology". Yet, artificial intelligence is something that should we not be so quick to dismiss, and should be something that gets people talking and even excited for what the future holds.
In the New York Times article, “Is Artificial Intelligence Taking Over Our Lives?” they introduce the topic if whether or not our lives will soon revolve around technology at every corner that we see worldwide, whether it being robotic cops to robotic doctors. Introduced in this article were 3 main debaters over the topic being for and against the idea that our artificial intelligence & its growth is a good or bad idea.
Artificial intelligence has become a big controversy between scientists within the past few years. Will artificial intelligence improve our communities in ways we humans can’t, or will they just cause danger to us? I believe that artificial intelligence will only bring harm to our communities. There are multiple reasons why artificial intelligence will bring danger to humanity, some of them being: you can’t trust them, they will lead to more unemployment, and they will cause more obesity.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most breath-taking topics in science and technology fields today. While the time frame of its real emergence has long been the focus of debates, the moral concern of such a practice is a more urgent question for the human race to answer. Authors and pundits from Mary Shelley in 1818 to Stephen Spielberg in 2001 have expressed their views on this problem already. British computer scientist Alan Turing was asked the question “can machines think?” half a decade ago, after
Machines and technology are a part of our daily activities and lives. These creations are called Artificial Intelligence, which is the ability machines and technology have to copy human abilities and actions. A few artificial intelligence examples would be Siri, Alexa, and robots. AI is potentially dangerous due to the fact that they are taking over human abilities.
Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a field of computer science that attempts to simulate characteristics of human intelligence or senses. These include learning, reasoning, and adapting. This field studies the designs of intelligent
Artificial Intelligence is a topic within the public media that has existed for decades, but is now a concern due to the reality of human advancement and innovation in the field of science and technology. Many people believe that computers will become self-aware or sentient and view humanity as a disposable resource and gain supremacy. Reasoning that research on the technology should halt and not become more advance. Whereas others believe they will help catapult research and the economy forward, supporting the operations and innovations the technology offers. The complicated and divided solutions to the debate aren’t obvious, but there are more benefits to improving artificial intelligence than there is stopping it. Therefore, the negative effects people believe will occur can be resolved.
Artificial intelligence is a concept in computer science in which scientist develop programs to possess intelligent human characteristic such as the ability of human cognition. Artificial Intelligence (A.I) has developed over many years and has incorporated into our daily lifestyle; these include voice recognition/ assistance such as Siri and Cortana. Another example is our interactive devices to flying drones to Amazon Prime for delivery. They use Wi-Fi-sensors to control the activity of drone to perform certain actions such as delivering packages and much more.
