Our world has many social problems that we try to solve or reduce in many different ways. In order to solve them, we must first look for them. Tara Hardinge is my Sociology professor. During her lecture, she stated that “Social problem it is a social condition that a part of society view as dangerous or harmful to members of society and there is a need to cure or remedy it” (Hardinge 2015). Linda Mooney, David Knox, and Caroline Schacht are Sociology professors at East Carolina University and are authors of the textbook Understanding Social Problems. Social problems have objective and subjective lements to them. Mooney, Knox, and Schacht state that "the objective element of a social problem refers to the existence of a social condition" (2). Mooney, Knox and Schacht also state that "the subjective element of a social problem refers to the belief that a particular social condition is harmful to society or to a segment and that it should and can be changed" (3). Sociological imagination is a term developed by American Sociologist, C. Wright Mills. Mooney, Knox, and Schacht state that "Sociological imagination refers to the ability to see the connections between our personal lives and the social world in which we live in" (. A Social Issue is where a whole society or a group of people within the society by affected by a specific problem which usually take a large number of people within the society to rectify or solve the problem at hand.

My understanding of a social problem is that a substantial group of individuals consider an issue to be problematic and that the matter in question does not reconcile itself between the good of the group and what has been done for society. Although the issue can be advantageous for some members of a culture or community, it can be detrimental to others and therefore must be examined.

Social issue is a problem that influences a considerable number of residents within a society. It has been a part of society for more than thousands of years. Some have displaced to put up with the evolution of the world while others have disappeared over time. Social issue is a condition that most people consider disagreeable. Distinct nations share comparable social problems as well as different ones. A few examples in the United States include crime, juvenile delinquency, racism, inadequate access to healthcare, drug abuse, murder, etc.

A social problem is a condition that a group of people view as being undesirable. These can be a variety of different “problems.”They can occur in your community, school, church or any place that people interact with each other or an object. When a social problem arises there is a general way that they are handled.

What is a social problem? Social problem is every conditions that is recognized as a social problem existed for some time before it came to be “defined” as such.

A social problem is defined as some aspect of society that large numbers of people are concerned about and would like to change. Poverty is defined as the state of being extremely poor. It is also described as the state of being inferior in quantity or insufficient in amount. Poverty is considered a social problem because it affects tons and tons of people across the nation. The poverty rate at one point declined, but then went back down.

Innocent humans have and are being treated unfairly with disrespect. They are being harassed, treated violently for no reason, and encountered with racism by police officers. Police brutality is an continuing issue and a living concern in the United States and it has been going on for centuries. This comes from a misuse of power given to police which has ungracefully become a historical convention across America in attaining a sense of order and law in its own society. Multiple humans are concerned with that fact that police brutality has been increasing over the years, rather than decreasing and want some type of a change to occur in the system. As a matter of fact, there are others that agree with this as well. Sirry Alang, an opinion contributor, among others, believes that police brutality goes beyond the use of unjustified physical force that might cause death, it involves emotional and verbal assault. However, there are also others that have the same mindset as Randy Sutton, a writer, who believes there is a mistrust with American cops and who the cops serve. The existence of police violence is becoming more of a problem as society grows, and should be stopped so that police do not forget who they are in service of, the public. Therefore, Police brutality is a proceeding problem and extant concern in the United States and should be resolved instantly, as well as, regulated with greater strength and objectivity.

Police Brutality is an ongoing problem and existent concern in the United States and should be resolved immediately. Law enforcement must function as an element that consists of organized and civilized officers. The presence of police brutality is becoming more of an issue as society grows. The problem posed by the illegal exercise of police power is an ongoing reality for individuals of a disfavored race, class, or sexual orientation. Police brutality must be stopped so that police do not forget who they are serving – not themselves, but the public. This means that even the criminals, who are a part of the public, have certain rights, particularly, civil rights. Police brutality causes a major concern in today’s society in America and a resolution is imminent.

Police brutality has become more of a worry within the past two decades. Riots are becoming more frequent. Fatal shootings are becoming common. Police officers are not held accountable for the killings they have committed and will continue to commit. Several people believe in the use of excessive force, otherwise known as police brutality, to claim territories and correct others. It is important to analyze the different views of this aspect. Police brutality has had a negative impact on society just as it has had a negative impact on cultures. Five varying voices meticulously examine every aspect of the arguments of police brutality. Therefore, these views can be traced in various news articles in order to gauge where we, as a society, are in this conversation.

A social problem is the condition or the behavior that have negative impact or influences for the majority of the people in which it is generally recognized as a behavioral condition that may need to be addressed and treated. Social problem may consist of topics such as global warming, capital punishment or bullying that can affect a portion in society. Due to the difference of views, a social problem may be consisting of a considerable amount of people within a society perceiving a conflicting issue within the population as a social problem that goes against the personal morals and societal order in which may call attention to the condition or behavior in finding a solution through coalition for the common cause.

When thinking of a social problem in our society that is deeply affecting all of us individuals together in society as a whole, what particular issue do you think about? What do you think is problematic in our society right now? I believe that a major problem in our society that still continues to exist today is racism. Racism is a problem that has been going on in our country since our country was first founded. The racism I am talking about is racism against minority groups, mostly black people in particular. From the days of slavery, to the days of civil rights, and even taking place in our current time, it appears to me that racism has been a major problem that I would like to discuss.

The problem of state presence in socio-economic life has always been and will be the subject of heated discussions among economists, sociologists and political scientists. This issue is not only an ideological one, but also of significant importance for the state functioning. It is undisputable that the implementation of particular tasks by the state turns out indispensable for the functioning of society, however, in terms of market existence the underlying advantages, to be discussed below, are much less favorable.

Taking these four elements as building blocks the following definition of a social problem may be arrived at: A social condition, known to a pressure group as posing a threat to current values and norms, that requires collective action to rectify (Pretorius, Le Roux, Lesufi, Liebenberg, Martin Rautenbach & Zegeye in Ferreira 2005:87).
