Society is to blame for the crimes of its youths. To what extent is this true? Crimes of the youths, refers to the failure of a youth to perform an act specifically required by law. It has been reported that, along the years, the rate of youth crimes has shown a tendency to increase. Truly, from the case of Mary Bell to the Virginia Tech Massacre, every time public awareness and anger was arisen. At the same time, more and more young criminals are exposed to the public limelight, and we begin to wonder what indeed is happening to our youths nowadays. This issue generated much attention from the public at that year. Noted that one of the reasons given by the defendant is that ‘in America, such vandalism is not considered as a crim. Hence, Michael Fay as an American citizen should not be accused for it.’ From this incident, we can see that society should be blamed if it fails to provide an orderly circumstance for the growth of its youth. Even the ex-president George.W.Bush once said that they ought to rise the age at which juveniles can have a gun. Lastly, the education system should also be blamed if it fails to inculcate correct values in the minds of the youth. In recent times, the education system has come under the fire for the unrest of the youth, being criticized for overemphasis on cognitive education, but unsuccessful in other aspects of education such as the social education. Education needs to be backed by moral percepts and here is where society has missed the mark. In the United States, the increasing number of cases of school shooting implies that even students with excellent intelligence and high degree could be ignorant in everyday issues. The current education system is blamed for producing students who seem to be intellectually advanced, but emotionally a pygmy. Lack of moral control gives rise to youths that are easily committed to crimes as sometimes, they regard such violent and criminal behavior as a way to express their unsatisfaction, or more evilly, for their own pleasure and the
