In the field of Software Engineering, students have a plethora of internships available to them. Despite having so many choices available to them, students must narrow their options to internships that will benefit them the most. Two particular Software Engineering internships that stand out among the others are Animusoft’s Software Engineering internship and Microsoft’s Explorer program. Based out of Miami, Florida, Animusoft promises students the chance to work on exciting team projects while learning about software engineering in a professional setting (Animusoft LLC). Microsoft’s Explorer program, on the other hand, is based out of Redmond, Washington and offers students the opportunity to gain experience in software development …show more content…
However, Microsoft’s approach differs in that students work on their project with a group of their peers rather than employees like in Animusoft’s internship. This makes the internship serve as an enjoyable learning experience for students. Moreover, Microsoft strongly encourages students to be deeply involved in their project, as a result, students are assigned to a group by a group coordinator. Animusoft, however, assigns students their projects and expects them to work with Animusoft’s junior and senior developers. Clearly, Microsoft wants to make students feel comfortable and not overwhelm with work that they may not be ready for. Animusoft, on the other hand, aims to treat students as though they are experienced employees. While this not necessarily detrimental to students’ future success, it does show that Microsoft is a safer option for students who may not be experienced in software development. When it comes to time commitment, these internships differ in how many hours students must dedicate to their project. Specifically, Animusoft expects students to work on these projects for a minimum of 20 hours per week. In addition to this, students must be willing to contribute to their project at home and in their free time. Although, Animusoft only offers a part-time position. Therefore, students must keep in mind that they spend under 40 hours per week working on their project. While
Problem Solving – When we got assigned tasks during the internship we didn’t have the leadership that we have while in school. We’re assigned a task with a specified outcome, but no direction so determining the best solution while optimizing our resources
This internship fits within my career plan to help governments use technology better. I want to be part of how such as TechCongress, 18F, USDS, and the Presidential Innovation Fellows are redefining how technology
Through a partnership with Northrop Grumman, I develop my own projects with mentorship from a team of engineers. During my junior year, I utilized Java Eclipse and Android to develop and copyright a mobile application that digitized my high school’s school map, making navigation much easier for students. Due to my spectacular performance, Northrop Grumman offered me a paid summer internship. In collaboration with a team of my peers and the public works superintendent of the Fairfield Waterworks facility, I built a robot capable of diagnosing cracks and leaks in water main pipes. Over the summer, I also attended an eight-hour workshop about soldering electronics. This project garnered several awards at the Ohio State Technology and Engineering Showcase. Now, I am currently developing a low-cost Arduino-powered smartphone with WiFi capabilities.
We would like to give college students the opportunity to work and get an internship as they study and apply for our openings in nearby schools. All applications must be reviewed by Human Resources and managers to be considered for the position.
Authors tend to use different techniques in order to make the plot more interesting and compelling to the audience they are trying to reach. One of the technique they use is foiling. They use foil in order to develop characters. Character creation and the way a character acts really can affect the stories the characters are from. When someone analyzes a character they have to take in mind their feelings their emotions and how they are they want to connect with the characters on a whole new level. Authors use foils to represent the main character in a better way, they utilize another character that has opposing traits than the main character to do this. In the novels, The Sun Also Rises and Heart of Darkness, the authors Ernest Hemingway
-Students are working in groups with different levels of understanding. Their peers will mentor them and hold them accountable to their work.
Not only will I evaluate each student in my group, but I also will review our full value contract and seeing how well we followed it. The last thing that will be in this paper is the parts of the project and the actions of others that I believe went well and the parts that I believe did not go as I thought they would. All together the parts of this paper will sum up how the communication and ability to follow through or not with individual tasks effected the overall group and ability to create a successful program.

Finally, there is a point to be made for the partnerships that are created in this program, specifically in student/youth and educator/mentor interactions. Considering there is surely an opportunity for “mentors” to pass along their expertise and knowledge in this collaborative environment, it should not be understated how valuable such positions are. In this case, the mentor helps one or more project teams find a project vision if they do not already have one, and then to help them realize that vision, and guide them along the way. They should be expected to pass on their knowledge of proper tool usage and safety measures while helping to show the importance of “failure as a means to success” is nurtured.
understand the extent to which current programming is meeting WCU student needs and interests in order to improve future programming.
Last year December 2014 I volunteered with the CMPD Explorers and the Salvation Army to provide gifts for children and their families all over the city of Charlotte, NC. The CMPD Explorer program is a program that is for high school students in the Charlotte who want to be police officers when they grow up or work with some type of law enforcement to interact with real police officers. In the program we practice real life scenarios that can happen all the time, go on trips, and volunteer in the community doing community service. I like the program because with community service you can help out families who cannot afford Christmas. Every Christmas the CMPD Explorers partner with the Salvation Army to provide Christmas for hundreds of families and thousands of children all over the city of Charlotte.
List other skills, training, and experience you have that will be useful in an engineering research internship position. Although my research career has just begun, I have accumulated a strong background in several research fields and more importantly have developed a strong research foundation. In the past two semesters I have gained valuable research experience by participating in the Honors Program at the College of San Mateo. As a member of the Honors program I attend seminars on ways to conduct scholarly research and interdisciplinary learning.
This next Saturday April 22nd Las Vegas, and every major city in the US will be celebrating the 10th edition of Record Store Day, an initiative started on the U.S. and now turned into a worldwide event. As the means through which we consume our music have shifted over the past decade, record stores have slowly become victims of new media, like MP3 digital files and more recently, streaming services. Back in the year of 2007, independent record store owners and their employees met to discuss ways to save their industry, and they brainstormed this idea of Record Store Day, which was in part modeled after a similar event, which focused on celebrating and promoting comic book culture. This once a year event has proven to significantly increase the traffic and profits for independent record stores, an achievement made possible through the collaboration of artists and record labels, who prepare special limited releases, which often include vinyl reissues, live albums or box sets to be released on this
Not to tout my own abilities and skills but I am a perfect fit for your internship. I worked for ITC (Innovative turnaround control) as my first internship; they are a contractor for BP my internship was making engineering drawings and written portfolios of the jobs ITC was assigned during each turnaround. I have extensive customer service experience, and interpersonal and
In The Fall of the House of Usher, the narrator and his friend, Roderick Usher, are living in a mysterious, dark house. The paragraph starts off with a description of a powerful gust of wind attacking the house. Beginning with “impetuous fury” makes the reader think of natural disasters and destruction, maybe even a feeling of being attacked. The sentence however has a rhythm, the words “ impetuous”, “gust”, and “us” all end in a long sounded s, correlating the sound of a snake. This also brings a bad connotation to the sentence, due to the idea that snakes are considered malicious.
