Honestly, if it was not for my brother, Hunter, I would not be here right now. He has been there to save me, many, many time in my life. As a kid, I never thought of it as that, but now that I am thinking about it as an older individual, I actually realize that I could be dead.
There is something about me that you should know before I continue this memoir, from the time I was three until the time I was about seven, I had this unnecessary obsession with Spider-Man. I would make people call me Peter Parker, and if they didn't I would get mad at them. I would even answer the telephone and say, "Hello this is Peter Parker, but don't tell anyone I am Spider-Man."
I would always ask for more Spider-Man toys, clothing, and blankets. I even had a full Spider-Man suit at one point. The day before my fourth birthday, I was up in my room playing Spider-Man on top of my bed. Hunter wasn't playing with me, he was just in my room with me. I was trying to figure a way to swing across my bed by flying like Spider-Man. I found my window blinds string, saw that it was white, and looked like Spider-Man's webs. I couldn't figure out how to tie it on one of my wrists, so I thought that it would be a good idea to tie it around my neck.
At this age, I didn't know the possibilities of what I was doing. After I tied the strings, I stared on one side of my bed and sprinted to the other side of my bed and jumped. The next thing I knew, I wasn't able to breath, I felt this sharp pain in my neck,
‘The Spider-Man’ (the movie) is also a journey filled with adventure, thrill, excitement, making possible the impossible, conquering hearts and, performing feats which are best left to Dream Land, the world of fantasy.
To fully understand spiderman as an archetype in our culture we must first understand peter parker. Peter grew up with a loving family and spent most of his time with them when they weren't on business trips. Until one day Peter's parents left him with his aunt May and uncle Ben and hurried away. Soon after Peter answers the door to man who tells him his parents have died in a terrible plane crash. Several years later Peter is still living with his Aunt and Uncle and going to highschool.
The author of “The Birth of Spider-Man”, Max Bruno, and the author of “Stan Lee and Spider-Man”, Simmi Patel, both present their information about Spider Man differently and similarly through their purposes, points of views, and facts chosen.
As told within the movie, Peter Parker’s grandmother believes “there’s a hero in all of us; gives us strength, makes us noble, even though some items we have to give up the things we love the most”(Sami Raimi). Neither Spiderman nor his alter ego, Peter Parker, ever showed any signs of fear(Spiderman). His incredible bravery allowed for him to fight relentlessly.
In the movie, “The Amazing Spider-Man,” the director uses the archetypes, The Battle of Good vs Evil, The Hero, The Tyrant, The Warrior, Sidekicks, and The Forest. We as humans, will not find our confidence in ourselves for a long time because bravery is a hard thing to accomplish and is a difficult task to do by yourself. This theme is conveyed throughout the entire movie because people need to step up and face the evil that could await them if they don’t find the confidence from what makes the person the person. Spider-Man was shown to be a nerdy high schooler who doesn’t make many friends. He gets bitten by a radioactive spider and gains powers that nobody would have ever imagined. Everything about him changed which made him fight evil
This lead to a total DNA change that turned him into a huge psychotic lizard. Peter Parker who had been bit by a radio active spider was now on a search to rediscover who he really is and only at the age of sixteen. If Stan Lee's classic comic was meant to teach us anything it was meant to teach us that we have a choice. Peter Parker a low income orphan, who was bullied and weak used his powers to become a hero. Osborne decided other wise. Using not Spiderman, but Peter Parker as my last explain I would like to show you that what makes a monster is more than the struggle for power as I earlier stated. It is the choice we make with that power whether it is given to us or taken.
Nearly all heroes are faced with a variety of inconceivable tasks which in turn help to overcome obstacles that the character may face. In Spider-Man, Peter Parker is forced to overcome these impediments so that he can help protect the people in his city. The task that first illustrates this quest is Spider-Man’s revenge on the man who killed his uncle and committed robbery. To catch this criminal, though, Spider-Man has to learn how to use his mind: thinking quickly and on-the-spot. Not only does it take courage for Spider-Man to defeat this criminal, it takes quick reflexes that only his “spidey senses” can offer him. In the end, Spider-Man tricks the man and is successful in turning him into the police. Another example of a
Identity – the fact of being who or what a person or thing is. In the graphic novel Ultimate Spiderman Vol. 1, Peter Parker undergoes many stages of self-discovery, struggling to establish his purpose in his life and in others. Peter struggles with trying to establish his place in the relationships in the people around him. Peter, through others, attempts to establish his identity within his relationships.
Once Harry finds out that Spiderman is who has killed his father he promises to avenge his father by killing Spiderman. Peter now understands the advice given to him by Uncle Ben. He is fighting with himself. He now realizes he needs to keep all the civilians safe, and now has a whole new personality and perspective. Peter’s preparetions are both knowledge and love of his life.
First and foremost, the hero Spider-Man starts with the creative ideas that Stan Lee developed in 1962. Chaston asserts that “Stan Lee is the best-known costumed superhero of the Marvel Comics universe and the star of several comic books and television series.” Lee is a figurehead for every superhero enthusiast in the world. A true icon whose visionary masterpieces have developed into true inspirational role models for millions of people in the world. In a Time.com website, “How Spider-Man Was Born,” the author, Nolan Feeney, states that one day, Lee’s publisher tells him that he must come up with a new superhero idea. That day, Lee goes home and starts thinking about what a new hero will be
In 2002, Sam Raimi directed the first Spider-Man movie of the three-part series. In this movie, the famous Marvel comic book character, Peter Parker, adapts to his newfound super powers after being bitten by a genetically-enhanced spider on a high school field trip to OSCORP. Throughout this movie, he battles the infamous villain the Green Goblin, otherwise known as Norman Osborn, in New York City. Peter Parker is an outsider at his high school and has a crush on the beautiful and popular Mary Jane Watson, who is also Peter’s next-door neighbor, and she dates the typical high school jock. Peter’s only true friend is Harry Osborn, the son of Norman Osborn. Peter was raised by his aunt, May and uncle, Ben, after his parents died in a plane
Once upon a time there was a boy named Strong Lad Steven. Strong Lad lived in the mountains with his family and other villagers. His family was made up of a father, a mother, and a little, impotent brother named Strong Shad. Although his little brother's name was "Strong" Shad, it was hard for him to live up to the name because he was so feeble. The house they lived in was on top of the biggest mountain in the village, therefore, the two young boys had plenty of room to roam and play while being out of danger's way. The boys would do this while the parents would amble around the meadows. Strong Lad and Strong Shad loved comic books. Some of their favorite things to do were making their own comics or dressing up as super heroes. Spider man was
Finally, becoming a superhero allowed Peter to grow as an individual; similarly to how Charlie grew throughout his freshman year. Peter Parker, from the movie Spider-Man,
When Peter Parker woke up, he got his glasses and tried them on, but he had discovered that is just got blurrier. He looked at the mirror and realized that he had gotten stronger because now he had muscles on his arms. After getting out of his room, he had more of an agility because when he ran down the stairs he walked on the wall momentarily. Spider Man had used his new abilities at school when he had angered some students in the cafeteria. A jock tried to attack him, but was unsuccessful because his new skills had assisted him by blocking every shot with self defense reflexes.
When asked what makes the character of Spider-Man so popular, most people would probably say that it is due to his relatability. Peter Parker is just a kid, like all of us are or were, and that instantly makes him accessible to a wide audience. However, I never thought about that when I was a child. I grew up on the Sam Raimi films, which I still hold near and dear to my heart. I suppose I wasn’t smart enough at the time to realize the massive appeal of the Spider-Man character. For me, Spider-Man was just cool because of his colorful costume and his amazing powers. I was just a kid who loved awesome superheroes, and Spidey checked that box. Having graduated high school and preparing for college, I am now more aware of subtleties and nuances in film, while still retaining that childlike excitement for massive blockbusters. I have been anticipating the latest Spidey film for a very long time, and upon viewing the film twice, I’ve realized a glorious truth. For the first time in my life, at the age of 18, I finally related to the character on a deeper level than I ever thought possible, and that is what makes this film shine.
