Saint Report I chose Saint Raphael the Archangel as my confirmation saint. I chose this saint because this is the first saint I learned about. I always looked upon this saint as my favorite saint because of his strong relationship with God and because I knew this saint the longest.
Millenarians, radicals, mystics, heretics, and all other groups with their own opinions regarding the teachings of the organized church have always existed. In certain points in history, current events have caused spikes in these groups’ abundance. One example of such time periods is the twelfth through fourteenth century. This point
Religious Symbolism in Painting The Annunciation, with Saint Emidius by Carlo Crivelli The artist Carlo Crivelli painted 'The Annunciation, with Saint Emidius' in the 15th century. Noticeably, Crivelli's portrayal of the Annunciation differs vastly to the one actually presented in Luke 1:26-38 of the Bible. For instance, Jesus' coming was said to have been announced to Mary in 'Nazareth, a town in Galilee' (Luke 1:26). However, in Crivelli's interpretation of the event, the Annunciation is set in the elaborate town of Ascoli, a town that has been portrayed to be flourishing in the opulence and aesthetics that the Renaissance had brought to Crivelli's era. However, Crivelli may have deliberately In addition to this, there is also a Latin phrase: 'LIBERTAS ECCLESIASTICA', which when translated means 'Freedom from the Church'. Moreover, Crivelli may have used such an extensive array of colours in his painting to celebrate Ascoli's new, free status as well as to signify the joyous coming of the Christ child. A similarity with the actual Annunciation is the presence of the Archangel Gabriel as in the Bible, he was sent to the Virgin Mary to announce the imminent arrival of baby Jesus. However, an irregularity is still at hand as the Archangel is pictured to be walking alongside a Saint, which is a rarity in religious works of art. The saint who he

Saint Sebastian is the Patron of Saint of three things. Those three things are soldiers, athletes and those who desire a saintly death. However, in Saint Sebastian’s lifespan he shows multiple Gifts of the Holy Spirit, why he is a saint, and why he is chose to be my patron saint for my Confirmation. Throughout my daily life I turn to him for help. He helps to relieve my stress and to assist me through my struggles. I am very excited for Sebastian to be my patron saint and to help me through the Confirmation process. He was martyred for his faith, so I admire him. His faith was so strong that he was willing to die rather than let go of his beliefs. In my opinion, he paid the ultimate price. I pray that Sebastian will help me have that same courage every day to speak the Lord’s word and to spread the Catholic faith. The bravery that Saint Sebastian showed is inspiration to me to live my life for Christ and through

St. Hildegard of Bingen The story of St. Hildegard of Bingen was unique from the any of the other saints. My location that I chose was St Elmo, an abandoned town. It was abandoned for the mining use of it. The mines in the town as people say; it “dried up.” So now the town is classified as an abandoned town. The town of St elmo had a fire; the
Anthony had been moderately rejecting his status as a wealthy elite before his parents’ death, it was not until they died that St. Anthony could begin his internal metamorphosis into asceticism. His parents’ death represents a “marker event” in his life, which Searle argues is important as they represent symbols that we associate with crises. It is important to note that for Searle, a crisis is an all-encompassing event that is thrust upon you, and changes your whole life. Given that one cannot choose when there is a crisis in their life, marker events represent points of symbolic significance which one can later associate with the beginning of a crisis, and the subsequent conversion journey that follows. While there were a confluence of factors that lead to St. Anthony beginning his journey into asceticism, his parents’ death will always represent an important marker event in his conversion

In 1226, after attending the General Chapter of his order held at Arles, France, and preaching in the French region of Provence, Anthony returned to Italy and was appointed provincial superior of northern
